Amy's POV
(I will be writing in past tense from now for ease of language. Enjoy the chapters!)
I woke up with a sore body the next day. Waking up next to my beloved stepbrothers, in my huge princess bed on a Christmas morning was a blessing of a kind! I stretched my body, letting my skin soak up fresh and crisp winter morning air.
"Huh?" I turned my head to the sound of a silenced, vibrating tune on the bed. I searched under my pillow and narrowed my eyes.
"Dane! Oh my gosh, Dane! Winter is calling! Get the hell up!" I kicked Dane on his ass to wake him up! Rolling off the bed, he grunted and picked up the phone. I was amused at his urgency when he ran off to attend to his girlfriend. However, it did hurt me a little because he prioritizes her so much.
Ah...if someone loved me like that too. Nick and Alex and honestly so dumb at reading a woman's heart.
Within an hour, all four of us siblings gathered in the hall.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so excited to open the gifts!" Crystal held out a huge bag of gifts as I looked at her with shock, "My mailbox was filled with them today morning! I have so many admirers!"
"I'm sitting right here, Crystal." Alex, who wasn't as amused as us, spoke up. We laughed in his face!
"At least we get gifts...?" Winter bent over the couch and pulled up a gigantic bag of gifts. It was three times bigger than Crystal's goodies!
"I bet half of them are from Dane itself." Alex joked and we laughed heartily. We knew it could be true. I can't stress enough to say how much Dane loves her.
"How long are they going to take? I'm eager and restless!" Crystal exclaimed, pouting gently as I pulled her over my shoulder.
"Patience bears sweeter fruits, babe," I prophesied playfully.
"Uh-huh? But that ain't gonna change my gifts to anything better, babe " She replied with mockery as I stuck my tongue out.
"You know that's not what I meant, genius—" Alex's boisterous shriek of excitement cut me off!
" They're here!" Alex jumped at Nick and Dane, grabbing two whole bags while the other two carried more. Each of them was so huge that it put Crystal's bag of gifts to shame.
"Wait. All that underwent security check?" I asked to confirm. Everything we receive externally in our mansion has to go through stringent security checks. Who knows if our admirers sneak in a bomb or something in there?
"Yep. And believe me when I say this, but this is twice as huge as last year's gift-giving. I wonder why." Nick adjusted his spectacles and stated. Oh my goodness. I swear I wanted to take him then and there~
His arms were so thick, and he was sweating ever so slightly. The sight of him was enough to ignite the flames in my body. I scooted and gave him space to sit.
"That's because someone decided to publicize Amy's name and get more sales to the company," Dane said with indifference. We all knew what he was talking about.
"Guys. The money he makes keeps food on the table for us. Let's not ruin the moment right now. It's Christmas!" I piqued, grabbed one bag which was half the size of me and started distributing.
"For Dane...For Alex...For Dane...For Nick...For Dane...For Dane...For Dane...PHEW! Damn you, Dane! You always win!" I threw my hands up in the air in defeat. We had a bet, like every year and I seemed to lose again! Dane threw up a cocky brow at me as I stuck my tongue out at him too.
"For Alex...For...me?" I questioned and recognized the name written after my name. (To Amy, from...)
I gasped. Why did he have to write his name!? So stupid!
"Guys! I'm taking over the gifts and giving you yours. Until then, open the ones you have at hand!" I volunteered and started distributing the gifts among us siblings.
I couldn't believe the nerve of this guy. Cynric sent me well over ten gifts, spanning from a small ring box to a huge pillow-sized prominent gift. I couldn't wait to open them.
"Amy! Open yours!" I chuckled at Crystal, nervously. I grabbed one gift from the lot and grimaced that I picked Cynric's.
"Who is it from!?" Winter asked, her eyes beaming and glittering.
"Uh- um...Damien! Haha. Who is that?" I lied to their faces.
"A fan of the Frostbites, obviously." Nick cockily stated. I turned back to the gift, my heartbeat was rising.
'Please don't let it be a provocative or suggestive gift! It's goddamn Christmas!' I said to myself in my head.
As I unwrapped it, the ribbon exploded and ripped open a confetti with hearts!
"Oh my god!" Crystal exclaimed, "That is so cute, Amy! They really adore ya!"
I gave out a nervous chuckle once again. When the confetti was out of the way, I looked into the box and saw...a snow globe.
It wasn't just any snow globe. The base was made of jade and the inner figurines were studded with diamonds. The man and woman figurines inside boasted extravagant wedding dresses and suits.
"Oh wow...someone's in love with you, Amy. That is custom-made and hella costly..." Nick pointed out.
"Someone's...in love with me?" I asked to confirm.
"For sure. But they know you wouldn't stoop to their standards and are fine gifting you with this. Don't take that personally and open the next one. Hurry! I'm so curious!" Nick was speaking but my mind stopped registering the words after the first two.
'Someone's in love with me.
He is in love with me...'
My mind kept chanting.
If it was really true, then were all the gifts from Cynric just as meaningful?
Why does he love me so much?
And why am I unable to reciprocate his feelings which were so genuine...?
