Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson were woken up by the Varlyns who brought them to the city which is five in number, very early in the morning. Immediately Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson woke up, they were taken to a river to have a bath.

Karl was taken to a different river where the ladies always took their bath and the others were taken to a river for men. The city has two separate rivers, but the rivers are surrounded by mountains, and they are located close to the city.

After bathing, Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson were given new clothes, and they were told to change into them. After changing into new clothes that looked fitted, Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson were taken to the city by the Varlyns to see their people and where they had them settled down.

When Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson get to where their people settle down in the city, they are surprised to see that their people have all been given new homes. It is also said that jobs will be found for their people according to their specialist and what they are good at. Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson were glad that the Varlyns openly and welcomely accepted their people and were taking care of them.

After seeing and confirming that their people were in good health and hands, Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson were taken to see their soldiers where their soldiers are now living. Upon getting to where the soldiers now live, Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson saw that the human soldiers, the silver army soldiers, and the shapeshifter soldiers live together with the Varlyns soldiers.

Not only with the Varlyns soldiers, but some of the other beings who volunteer to join the Varlyns army which are shapeshifters, humans, and other beings.

Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson also came to realize that the homes of the soldiers were a bit far from the city, but close to the Varlyns' lord's house. Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson also saw that the Varlyns soldiers were very accommodating and free just like every other being in the city.

Seeing the number of the Varlyns soldiers made Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson realize that the Varlyns must have been preparing for Marcelos before his return or after his return, or what other force is at work that they need to protect themselves from for them to have raised such an army.

Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson also thought the Varlyns must have been communicating with the world they came from, one way or the other to have been able to know what had been happening, and the return of Marcelos.

Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson also came to realize that the Varlyns will be crucial to the plan of defeating Marcelos because a look at their soldiers says that they are strong, powerful, and ready for Marcelos and his armies. Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson are glad that they will have a powerful force like the Varlyns beside them to help with Marcelos’ armies, and their Nylins will help greatly against Marcelos.

After seeing that their soldiers are in good hands, Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson are shown around the Varlyns' city so they can know about the city. The Varlyns took Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson around the city, showing them places, telling them their rule and regulations, and telling them about their culture which they found interesting.

Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson spent half of the day with the Varlyns showing them around the city, and after that, they were taken back to the Varlyns' lord's house to see the lord of the city.

The door to a small hall was opened, and only one Varlyn walked into the hall followed by Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson. Inside the hall were chairs at the right and left sides of the hall, five at each side. Up front in the hall is also a two-sitter chair, and next to the two-sitter chair are two ordinary chairs, one at the right and the other at the left.

On the two-sitter chair was a Varlyn man seated, and the chair next to the two-sitter chair on the right side was a Varlyn lady seated. Also, the chair on the left side of the two-sitter chair was a Varlyn young man seated. On the chairs on the right and left sides of the hall were both men and women Varlyns seated.

Everyone in the hall could be seen talking to each other and laughing at the same time which meant they were all having a nice time, and Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson noticed that. However, when everyone notices the presence of Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson in the hall, they all stop talking and laughing.

The man on the two-sitter chair appeared to be in his late 40s, the lady next to the man appeared to be in her early 40s, and the boy appeared to be in his mid-20s. Those seated on chairs on the right and left sides of the hall appeared to be old and in their late 70s which means they are older than the man.

The Varlyn leads Dawson, Karl, Hemdal, and Nelson to the man seated on the two-sitter chair, and when they get close to the man on the two-sitter chair, the Varlyn bows to the man saying in a strange language to him. Dawson, Hemdal, and Nelson did not understand why the Varlyns bowed to the man or what he said, but when they saw Karl bow too, they all just bowed to play along.

Karl, Dawson, Hemdal, and Nelson raised their heads when they saw the Varlyn go to stand at a side in the hall, then the man on the two-sitter chair stood up and walked to Karl, and everyone in the hall also stood up. Upon getting to Karl, the man smiled, holding Karl's shoulders before he said to her in the general language "never in my life do I think I was going to set my eyes on the Phix".

Dawson and Hemdal are confused by the man's word when he refers to Karl as the Phix, but Karl and Nelson are surprised and wonder how the man knows the word. So Karl asked the man "how did you know who I am?".

Hearing that made Dawson and Hemdal realize that the name Phix truly belonged to Karl, and they wondered why Karl bears such a name. However, the man said with a smile to Karl "because the first leader of the Varlyns fell in love with the first you, and since then you have always been on the radar of the Varlyns. I am sure you know what I mean by the first you".

"But how come I have no memories of that? I have the memories of all the lives I have lived until now, and I did not see or know the first me falling in love with the first leader of the Varlyns" Karl puzzled said to the man.

The man smiled and said to Karl "that is another story for another day. You should know that we have been looking for you before Marcelos’ first invasion and after. My grandfather and father spent their lives looking for us before they died but failed because it seems your kind hides you well. I also continue their dream of finding you and here you are after many years".

"Can I ask why you are all spending your not-so-immortal lives looking for me?'' Karl asked the man.

"Because my people believe that with you, we can all achieve great things, and there is a myth about the connection of the Phix and the Varlyns. It is believed that with the Phix next to the Varlyns, we will be more powerful and greater than anything the world could ever think of. With you, we will be unstoppable which is why we have spent different lifetimes looking for you until now" said the man confidently to Karl.

Dawson and Hemdal came to realize that the name Phix that Karl bears must be from the first shapeshifter, but what the man had just said made them, Karl, and Nelson confused, then Karl curiously said to the man "what do you mean there is a connection between me and the Varlyns?".

"There is plenty of time to do that, but first I forget my manners. We should start with the introduction" said the man with a smile.

Karl wanted to know what the man meant about the connection between them and her even though it is said to be a myth, so when the man said they should do an introduction first, she was angry but the man was right that need they know each other first.

The man let go of Karl's shoulders and started by telling Karl, Dawson, Hemdal, and Nelson that they are glad to have them, and have been waiting for them. The man also tells them that where they are is called the Union Kingdom even though it was founded and owned by Varlyns, and it is a kingdom where all beings are accepted and welcome to live freely.

Then the man introduced himself to be the lord of the city and leader of the Varlyns called Lord Kruv. Lord Kruv introduces the lady behind him to be his wife Lady Hein, and the boy behind him to be his son Artem. Lord Kruv also introduced the males and females at the right and left sides of the hall to be officials of the Union kingdom, and the Varlyn who brought them to be the head General of all the Varlyns generals and commander of the Varlyns army who was sent to bring them to the old world.

Karl, Dawson, Nelson, and Hemdal suspected that that is who the Varlyn was when they saw how respectful the other Varlyns behaved around him. Karl, Dawson, Nelson, and Hemdal also learn from Lord Kruv that the commander's name is Commander Aleksander called commander Alek.

Lady Hein, Artem, Commander Alek, and the officials of the union kingdom pay their respect to Karl, Dawson, Nelson, and Hemdal by bowing to them, and then Karl, Dawson, Nelson, and Hemdal also pay their respect back to them by bowing to them. Then Lord Kruv told Karl, Dawson, Nelson, and Hemdal to come with him after asking them how their trip to the old world and the Union kingdom was.

Karl, Dawson, Nelson, and Hemdal walked out of the hall with and next to Lord Kruv, followed by Lady Hein, Artem, Commander Alek, and the officials, then lord Kruv asked Karl, Dawson, Nelson, and Hemdal what they think about the Union kingdom and if they find their people and soldiers comfortable, and if they are enjoying their stay.

Marcelos was glad that he had his phoenixes and Marcs, and spent more time with them, away from his armies, Zussorader and Philip. However, Marcelos finds himself worried when he hears from Philip and Zussorader that the Varlyns have returned.

Marcelos knew that the Varlyns were a force to reckon with even though he had his powerful undead armies because it was the Varlyns' help that had him captured and put to an eternal sleep during his first invasion. Marcelos knew the return of the Varlyns could only be orchestrated by Esther, which means she brought them to help in the war against him, but Marcelos knew that the Varlyns alone could not stop him and his armies.

Marcelos wanted sometimes alone with his phoenixes and Marcs so he could bond with them before he set out to find Esther and the others since he knew that whatever Esther and the others went on the journey to get could not be something good, but something powerful to end him. However, now that the Varlyns had resurfaced, he had to do something about them which is to end them before they grow in power and before Esther returns with whatever she is that she went to get.

Even if Esther returns with what is powerful enough to stop or end him, Marcelos knows that without no allies, Esther can not win or succeed against him which means everyone needs each other for there to be a chance to end him, and he is not going to let that happen.

Marcelos also had to put his dark crystal aside first since he didn't even know how he was going to find that, but he had to find the Varlyns to kill them all so they could not stand in his way.

Marcelos does not feel that he is winning so he has to take care of all things that can stand in his way. Then Marcelos gathered his armies and told them they were going to battle which was to find the Varlyns and kill them all, but at the same time, they continued the purge of the earth to clear it of all beings.
