Xerena Roseanne stood up to leave the dining table, but just before that she said that she wanted to speak privately with each of her grandchildren's future wives.
"Selena meet me in the living room in half an hour. And you, Anya, come after I'm done with Selena," the old woman insisted.
Anya gasped, she was not prepared for this. Xav replied quickly, "Anya will see you, Gran."
Roseanne smiled and left the table.

"What should I tell Mrs. Roseanne if she asks about my family? About me?" Anya blurted out in panic.
"Shhh... keep your voice down. Don't let others hear our conversation, remember even the walls in this house have ears," Xav whispered close to Anya as he looked into the brown irises of the petite girl in front of him.
"Just tell her the truth, about yourself. There's no point in hiding who you are, my grandmother will get all the information about you, she just needs to send one of her men to find out about you," Xav explained, making Anya even more tense.
"Just relax," Xav said as he ran his fingers through Anya's loose hair. They were now in Xav's private room on the third floor.
"How about your grandmother asks where we first met and how we met?" Anya widened her eyes wide, making the man in front of her realize that there was one big problem with this.
"Damn! Why didn't I think of this?!" Xav cursed to himself.
"I knew it, you didn't think this through. How are you going to convince your grandmother that something as trivial as this didn't even occur to you," Anya scowled and was about to leave the large room.
"Wait a minute!" Xav held the girl back.
"I have an idea," Xav said, raising one of his eyebrows.
Xav whispered the idea to Anya. The girl scowled but after thinking for a moment that nothing could make more sense than that, she agreed with Xav's idea.

A few minutes ago, Angel knocked on Xav's door, to tell Anya that it was her turn to face the great mistress Roseanne Dmitry.
Ready or not, Anya had to step forward. She couldn't help but want to, as this was a consequence of the agreement she had made with the crazy young master.
Anya met Selena, Noah's future wife, face to face. It turned out that the sweet and friendly face was just a polish, because when we met and Anya tried to greet the girl, she looked away. Deliberately looking away, and reluctant to interact with her.
"How arrogant!" Anya cursed inwardly.
She let out a long sigh before stepping into the living room, she was very tense. She felt like a defendant facing a public prosecutor.
The woman was sitting casually facing her laptop when Anya entered the living room. She then invited Anya to sit in front of her.
"Are you nervous Ms. Smith?" Roseanne asked.
"Yes ma'am, I feel nervous." Anya answered the question very honestly.
"No wonder your hand feels cold when you shake my hand. Hummm... relax, you don't have to be nervous. I'm just going to ask you a few questions." Anya nodded as she gave a forced smile.
"Have you known my grandson for long?" he asked. Anya blinked a few times, her brain lagging as the question left Xavier's grandmother's lips.
"N-not yet, ma'am. It's only been a few months," Anya said.
"Oh yes, what kind of wedding party are you dreaming of, I deliberately asked you this so that I can prepare everything perfectly."
Anya was silent for a moment, she didn't answer immediately, she was remembering how Emily's wedding went. At that time she realized that she did not like mortal festivities, when the party was over the real challenges of life began.
She remembered very well how a big fight broke out between Emily and her husband just a day after the wedding festivities. From that she learned that a festive wedding party has nothing to do with the harmony of a couple's marriage life.
"I want to keep it simple, just a church blessing and a civil registry. I actually don't like Madame's parties. No, it's certainly not because I'm doubting you, but I don't want a fancy party for the wedding. I just want a sacred party," Anya explained at length.
"Then who will you invite?"
"No one, I have no family," Anya said the answer from her heart. Ever since her father sold her, she had decided not to recognize anyone as her family.
"Really?" Roseanne frowned.
"But, from the information I got, you still have a father and he's still alive."
Anya was dumbfounded for a moment, she was quite amazed when she heard the woman's words. Roseanne was so quick and father divorced a long time ago. My mother passed away and from that day on I had no one, Madam. More like no one cares whether I live or die."
Roseanne looked at Anya intently, she then invited the girl to drink her tea, before moving on to the next question.
"Where did you first meet?"
Anya had expected the old woman in front of her to ask this question.
"At the college."
"Did you also study at the same place as Xavier?" Roseanne wrinkled her forehead that was full of age-marked creases.
"No, I'm just a sweeper there. I mean I work as a casual janitor there. I only come three times a week, and sometimes -"
"There, that's enough. I understand, so the next question is... " Roseanne didn't immediately continue. The woman smiled mysteriously and then, picked up the cup of tea in front of her and sipped the contents slowly. Anya felt intimidated by the way the old woman looked at her now.
"Do you love my grandson?" the old woman asked in an unusual tone. Very different from her previous tone.
"Why do you ask that Madam? Are you afraid I don't love your grandson?" I don't know where Anya got the guts from, she suddenly uttered such bold words. Roseanne looked quite shocked by Anya's rhetorical answer.
Roseanne raised one corner of her lips.
"Do you know what the consequences will be if someone dares to play with my family members?"
Anya nodded, "I'm not stupid enough to do that, Madam."
"If you're marrying my granddaughter just to get money from her, then you'd better get out of this house now." Roseanne handed Anya an unfilled check.
"You can fill it in for any amount you like. And you're free, you don't have to pretend to love or marry my granddaughter, if that's all the money you want."
Anya stared at the piece of check that had not been filled in but had been signed. She then unceremoniously slid the thin object towards Roseanne, returning it as she said.
"The love of your grandson is worth more than this, sorry you can offer it to others."
