Ch. 3Chapter 2

I am Lucy Charlotte, the youngest in the group of Royalties.

"What now?" Scarllet asked with a frown, staring at the flower. Annoying, it really doesn't want to be left behind.

"Someone’s playing with us." We all looked at Chaos as he spoke.

So that's it? We're just being toyed with someone? That hurts! It's like thinking they're the one, but turns out they're not because you're just being played!

"Show yourself!" We all straightened up at Chaos's shout. Silence prevailed in the surroundings. We observed and felt the atmosphere.

"And what are you doing in this place, gentlemen and ladies?" A deep and chilling voice spoke from somewhere, causing my knees to weaken. I looked around but couldn't see anything, nor could I feel its presence.

"We have a mission," Sophie replied nervously.

"What mission?" the cold voice asked again. I couldn't stand talking to voices like this. Leader's coldness is more preferable to me than this.

"We need to get the magical flower to complete the antidote," Scarllet explained.

"What antidote?" it asked again. So many questions.

"The antidote to poison," Acel replied shortly.

"You may get it, but only one petal." Our shoulders slumped at its words, except for Leader, who remained quiet.

"But—"

"Fine," Chaos cut Sophie off.

The surroundings fell silent. We saw the white petal of the flower being plucked and carried by the wind towards us.

It stopped in front of Scarllet, so she raised her hands, and it landed on her palms. She was chosen, perhaps because of her powers.

We gasped as Scarllet turned to us, and the surroundings changed back to being dense.

"Let’s go."

"Thank you!" We all shouted in unison into the void. Of course, we had to thank, right?

We began our journey back. "Guys, let's just teleport. It's getting tiring," Sophie complained. The others agreed, while Leader didn't seem to care. I wonder if his saliva hasn't dried up yet?

Alexis and I held onto Sophie because we didn't have that ability. Scarllet and Kade held onto Miles, while Parker and Acel stayed with Leader. Our surroundings changed immediately, and now we're here, standing at the grand entrance. This is Impius Academy.

Impius is a Latin word meaning ‘immortal.’ This school was built by different kingdoms so that all children can study and hone their powers.

We stepped in front of the gate, and it opened on its own. But anyone with ill intentions couldn't enter here.

As we entered, silence greeted us. It's class time now, so there's no one around. The gate closed, and we started walking towards Head Master's office.

We stopped in front of his office door, and I was about to knock when Leader opened it right away. I just sighed.

We followed him inside. Head Master Jacob Andy, 45 years old, was busy with papers and didn't even notice us. She cleared her throat before speaking. “HM.”

"HM…"

"HM!" And because of Scarllet's loud shout, HM fell from his chair out of surprise. Seriously, HM probably lost his hearing.

We saw him slowly return to his seat while adjusting his glasses. "O-oh, you're back," he started as if trying to recover from his shock.

"Oh no, we're not. We're still in the daaaark forest, just standing there," Alexis interrupted, showing no mercy for rudeness.

"Alexis," Acel scolded her. I secretly smiled. Alexis just rolled her eyes and glanced back at HM.

"Did you get it?" HM asked us. Scarllet immediately placed the petal on the table, and HM furrowed his brows. "Why only this?" He looked puzzled.

"Well, HM, because that's all a voice from somewhere gave us," I replied, which made him even more puzzled.

"Who?"

"We didn't see her, HM," Sophie said. I could see HM hesitating, but eventually, he just nodded.

"Okay, thank you. Go back to your dorms to rest. I know you're tired," he said softly. We nodded and left his office.

We're walking in the hallway now, but we all stopped when we saw a girl in front, busy looking around. She wore a white dress that seemed to be tailored. I carefully examined her. She was fair-skinned with long legs. Her skin was evenly toned, visible because of what she was wearing. She had white hair with strands of green, red, blue, and purple. She is beautiful.

I felt her presence, strong and intimidating. It's like the one from the forest earlier. It's eerie but I don't want to jump to conclusions.

"Guys, her presence…" Scarllet whispered to us as the girl looked in our direction. My jaw dropped, along with theirs.

She's really beautiful. Her eyebrows and eyelashes were thick. I was amazed by the color of her purple eyes, a rare color. But it's scary because she showed no emotion. She has a perfect nose and red kissable lips.

We blinked as we realized we had unknowingly approached her. We were mesmerized by her beauty and her perfect figure. The word beauty isn't enough to describe her; she's like a goddess.

"Hi," Sophie greeted her with a smile. Our jaws dropped again when she smiled broadly, revealing her two fangs. I blinked when her eyes changed color. They turned green.

"Uh, I'm—" I didn't finish my sentence when someone interrupted.

"Blaire, come on." With that, the girl's smile disappeared, and her eyes changed back to lilac.

We looked at the girl with the cold voice. She had white hair covering her face. Why do I feel no presence from her?

Blaire turned away from us and approached the girl. The girl took her hand, and they began to walk away.

"Oh, what a pity," I heard Kade complain. I grimaced; he's such a womanizer.

"Let's go; I want to sleep," Sophie said with a frown as she walked away. Hmmm… something smells fishy.

We followed her and reached our dorm. We're all in one building because we're all Royalties.

I entered my room and locked the door. I don't want to be disturbed for now because my body is really tired. I immediately went to the bathroom and took a shower. Then I wore my pajamas and went straight to bed.

I was about to close my eyes when there was a sudden knock. Ugh! I said I don't want to be disturbed!

"Lucy, let's eat," a voice outside the door said. I grumpily got out of bed and walked out of the room.

We were eating quietly, with only the clinking of our utensils and plates breaking the silence. Maybe they're tired too, that's why it's quiet.

We finished eating, and Sophie volunteered to wash the dishes. I went back to my room and locked the door again. I really don't want to be disturbed!

I lay down on my bed and stared at the ceiling. The girl we saw earlier crossed my mind. I felt something different about her, but I didn't feel anything bad. I don't know, I don't understand.

I just closed my eyes until darkness engulfed me.
