Ch. 18Chapter 17

"My dear students! Today is the perfect time for you to introduce your unique guardians," their HM announced. The students around cheered with joy.

"Each section must summon their guardians. No exceptions, in other words, including our princesses and princes. They will lead to give an idea to the students who don't know how to summon their guardians!" their HM announced enthusiastically. The entire place filled with cheers, and everyone was chanting the names of the Royalties.

Blaire wiped her face with her hands due to the noise of the students. They sounded louder than those using microphones.

"Let's begin! I'm calling Princess Lucy as our first summoner to showcase her skills!" their HM called Lucy. Blaire saw Lucy stand up and face them with a nervous smile.

"Good luck, Lucy," Aubrey encouraged Lucy.

"Good luck, baby Lucy," Parker said mischievously. Lucy rolled her eyes at his baby nickname.

"Good luck," the rest chorused.

"Thank you, guys," Lucy thanked them with a smile. She glanced at Blaire, who nodded in encouragement.

"Good luck," Blaire softly said to Lucy. Lucy smiled wider and walked towards the center of the arena.

When she reached the center, the surroundings became noisy again. Blaire's attention was solely focused on Lucy. She saw Lucy waving at the crowd. She closed her eyes, and moments later, her body lit up.

After the light disappeared, they saw a creature resembling a salamander. It was the size of a ferret, with a similarly lithe body and long limbs enough to lope rather than scuttle like a lizard. Its skin was the color of dark burgundy, with eyes that were large, amber, and round like those of an owl. A salamander has no teeth to speak of, but their snout ends sharply, almost like a river turtle’s beak. The abilities of a salamander are firebreathing and healing. Its skills are agility, climbing, and fireproof traits. In terms of attack and defense, it possesses fire breath, tail spike, claws, and bite. If it were normal and had no powers, it would be cute to look at.

The crowd was filled with wonder at the intensity of the creature before them. Lucy walked around the creature, and then it entered her body.

"Amazing, Princess, a salamander. From what I know, these creatures are very protective of their summoners. The salamander is extremely rare and does not exist in Hominum’s part of the ether. Not much is known about their habitat or history, though there is evidence that Orcs have captured them in the past. Thank you, Princess Lucy," their HM praised. The surroundings erupted with applause and cheers.

Blaire saw Lucy walking back with a triumphant smile. Aubrey immediately greeted her with a hug and a squeal.

"The next summoner is Princess Scarllet Brooklyn!" The whole arena erupted in cheers at HM's call.

"Good luck," they told Scarllet in chorus. She nodded and determination was evident on her face as she descended the stairs, which were surrounded by seats, and headed towards the center of the arena.

She waved at the crowd with a smile, and everyone cheered. She closed her eyes, and her body lit up. After the light disappeared, they saw a Vulpid, a close cousin to the Canid, is a slightly smaller, fox-like demon, has three tails, and is known for its agility and speed. Its natural skills are its acute sense of smell, heightened hearing, and agility. For attack and defense, it employs biting and claw strikes. It then entered Scarllet's body.

"Your guardian is beautiful, Princess Scarllet. A Vulpid is known to be very loyal to their summoners. Their habitats are mostly on land. Thank you, Princess, you can go back to your seat," the HM commented. The crowd erupted in applause, and Scarllet returned to where Blaire was sitting. They greeted her with compliments.

"And the next summoner princess is Princess Sophie Winter!" Their HM's announcement was met with cheers from the students.

"Good luck, Sophie!" Aubrey and Lucy cheered, to which Sophie just nodded.

Sophie immediately teleported to the center of the arena. The whole place erupted in cheers and applause. She summoned a creature called an Enfield. The Enfield, smaller and more uncommon than its counterpart, the Vulpid, boasts the proportions of a large dog. It sports a fox-like head, eagle-like forelegs, a greyhound's slender chest, and wolf-like hindquarters. Its front talons are perilously sharp, while tawny brown feathers mingle with red fur on its front and grey fur on its back. This creature's abilities encompass acute senses, keen hearing, and impressive agility. For attack and defense, it employs biting and talon strikes. It then entered Sophie's body.

"Your guardian is very rare, Princess Sophie. An Enfield is a dangerous creature. Thank you, Princess, please go back to your seat."

Applause and cheers filled the air. Sophie returned to her seat and was immediately greeted with positive thoughts from her friends.

"And now the last summoner princess! Please come forward, Princess Alexis Taylor!" Cheers erupted, and compliments filled the air even though she hadn't shown her skills yet.

"Good luck, Alexis!" they all said in unison, except for Blaire and Chaos, who remained silent.

Blaire didn't join in because she felt a daring hand on her side. It was Chaos, who was just staring ahead as if nothing happened. She removed his hand from her waist, and he didn't object. Blaire returned her attention to the center of the arena where Alexis stood.

The princess closed her eyes, and her body glowed, then emerged the creature called Caladrius, one of the four elemental bird-like demons. It is a cousin of the Fiery Phoenix, the icy polaration, and the lightning-powered Halcyon. With the white feathers and gentle features of a dove, this demon's high mana and rare healing powers are highly desired, even if its relatively small talons are not. These demons are rumored to spend most of their time high above the cloudscape of the ether, where the air is too thin for other demons to find them. The attack and defense, peck, and healing.

It fluttered around and circled Alexis. Blaire saw the joy on the princess's face before the creature entered her body.

"What a beautiful bird — the Caladrius, Princess Alexis, much like its summoner, who is also beautiful. It helps in battles because of its healing ability and is also good as a lookout or guard if the enemy is approaching because it's not easy to spot. Thank you, Princess," the HM stated. The entire arena erupted in applause and cheers, and it returned to Blaire's seat.

"Since we're done with the princesses, now it's time for our princes!" The entire arena was filled with cheers and screams from the girls. Blaire just sighed heavily as the noise was overwhelming.

"I love you, baby Chaos! I’m here! Your future wife!"

Blaire sharply turned her gaze to the one who shouted and saw the clown-like girl who seemed to lack fabric in her clothing. She wore an extremely short skirt, and the inner part of her long sleeves was tied, revealing her midriff.

She felt her blood boil because of the girl. The way she shouted was as if she was in a cockfight. She wanted to turn her into ice, but then she realized why she felt that way. Why did she feel so against the girl's shouting?

Fool!

That's what she thought to herself. She didn't pay attention to her and turned her attention back to the front.
