Ch. 13Lake of Treachery

The crows follow the trail. Once the surroundings became quiet again and we reached the temple, a strange presence and power enveloped it. A strange but I know harmful power. Underneath that temple on the right is a gazebo surrounded by a white lake. It's My friends finally came out, and they started walking towards me. While Ryuu waited for me and extended his hand to help me on that rocky road. “Why is there a bridge in this world?” I asked them, laughing. He gave a My friends finally came out, and they started walking towards me. While Ryuu waited for me and extended his hand to help me on that rocky road. “Why is there a bridge in this world?” I asked them, laughing. He gave a smile before he spoke. “Every bridge in this world has its story. Its sacrifices and falls are behind it. The bridge we will pass today is connected to the kingdom of witches. We call it our gate and the fireflies are our gatekeepers,” Ryuu said and shrugged as he turned her back. Wow! I just realized they are different from the witches I have seen in movies. I thought they were like witches who were afraid of light and fire. Different from this world because the witches here are not old or wrinkled. They are beautiful, and their skin is soaked in pure milk. They are also not afraid of light, especially fire. The world they have is like a beautiful paradise. From green flowers and plants. I looked at the bridge. They walked first, and now I was left without is quiet next to me. I watched the bridge carefully. Unlike the bridges we passed, the new bridge in front of me was made of a green wooden torso and supported by a chain. At the end of that bridge is a green temple-like temple. On the side of the temple is the three arch bridge made of stone as well as on the other side. But what made that bridge even more beautiful was the one at the top of the temple. A strange bird is the symbol. The wings were spread, and it was as if a magical bird were covering that temple. “Wow…” I just covered my mouth at how beautiful that bridge was. The presence of that bridge is hair-raising. I slowly pulled Matthias and started stepping and stomping my feet on the log. “It's effortless to be amazed. Tss.” He grabbed the chain and helped me cross. And only then did I notice the river at the bottom of that bridge. Its calm current is the reason for my heart to celebrate. This is home indeed. I want to be here in the world of sorcerers, but what my heart wants is to rebuild Nheria Therian. I would like to experience the whole thing, and before that, I will find out why they mercilessly killed my parents. Did they just love each other, is that bad? Is it really necessary to follow the rules, or will you let yourself go crazy and lose yourself forever because you didn't follow your heart? I knew Ryuu heard that or read my mind. Because as soon as our eyes meet, a pity or whatever it is—I don't know. He tilted his head.” Please. Don't hurt yourself. We will also know the truth of the past, for now, we only know parts of it. Just please, don't give up. Can you? Besides, I'm always in your sides. Through howls or spells, no one can break us apart.” It was as if something were beating in my heart and I couldn't control my emotions. I finally got closer to him and gave him an exhausting hug… debilitating… exhilarating. “Promise?” Ryuu smiled, a melting smile. “Promise.” Through his power, he ordered and whispered something to a black bird. We stopped for a while, and we were in the middle of the bridge. How soon did the bird come with a cloak? And now I realize that I'm not wearing a cloak and that's why I feel the cold breeze. He slowly put the cloak on me, which made my heart skip a beat. When he put the cloak on me, he brought his face closer to me…so close that I could be held by the chain. “Rory…” I uttered his name while I could clearly hear my rapid beating of my heart. I didn't expect what he did next. He buried his head in my neck. I felt its warm and fragrant breath. He stroked my long hair down to my neck…the way he stroked was scorching. We stopped when we felt a strange presence. Our eyes met before leaving each other, and only then did I return to my trance. A thick smoke and golden color was the presence that disturbed me. The smoke cleared and Jackson and Samiel were exposed while Blair and Fallon were serious. While both are now, maa teasing smile on his lips. I thought he left? Why did he come back? “Well, it took us a while to follow them. Maybe they're thinking about something,” Ryuu said in my mind. I turn my gaze at him and I can see him grinning. Argh! Why did I fall for this man? Our gaze was interrupted when we heard Goddess Kunal's taste I put my clothes on carefully, parted my long hair and put it on my chest. “I know there is a love developing between the two of you…and I don't object to that. But, remember we still have a mission to do,” said Diyosa Kunal which was the reason for me to hold Ryuu's arm tightly. Mission…before love. “You need to cross this bridge to see the town of the Zatca. Then the wonder you are doing,” he said, Ryuu and I both coughed because of what he said. “This bridge was full of lost, uncertain ghost of the past. Arch Bridge because it is a bridge of different emotions the moment you step on it,” Diyosa Kunal said and immediately carried the two of us until we reached the end. And we are in the temple. “Welcome to our home. You're part of the family now,” Goddess Kunal I fell in love while observing the beauty of that temple. There are plants on its side and what caught my attention the most was its arched bridge connecting the forests. An arched bridge made of stone is what we will cross before I reach Witch Land—the kingdom of witches. I laughed for a moment when I realized that this world is full of bridges! A bridge that will confuse you the moment you enter. “But me? I promise, you won't be confused by my love that I'm going to make you feel,” Ryuu whispered in my ear while brushing my long hair. When I suddenly turned around, he was frowning at me. Ryuu suddenly disappeared, and I was out of my mind to face the man with a smile on his lips. And rudely grabbed my lips and at the same time a kiss, a consuming kiss. I felt my heart as if it were going to come out of my throat, and especially when he ended the kiss and whispered in my ear. His soft voice covered my ears. “Welcome to Arch Bridge, anyway your lips taste so sweet.” before he spoke. “Every bridge in this world has its story. Its sacrifices and falls are behind it. I don't know why I suddenly felt like jumping into the lake. The four along with Goddess Kunal sat in the thin cloud that Goddess Kunal had created for them. "We need some rest. Our next destination is more dangerous so we need enough rest," Diyosa Kunal said. We nodded to him as a sign of agreement. My attention stayed on the sparkling and boiling water of the white lake. I have an inexplicable feeling that I don't know, but I want to jump and go to that lake. "Still wandering about the white lake?" Ryuu suddenly asked. I titled my head and met his eyes, he caught by surprise. "I know you know something about that lake. Can you tell me about it?" Instead of answering me, he slowly took a rope and a strange dagger. He howled at the upper part of the temple. He glanced at me, and I knew what that meant. I spewed out using my dagger a dangerous smoke, that can put them to sleep. The moment they have already slept. We looked at each other and laughed. At the same time, I stepped on his rope, he did the same. A clumsy, soft music caught my attention as we were in the air, down the lake. We heard a voice that was attractive and had a beautiful voice. "Did you hear that voice, Ryuu? What a beautiful voice." I got Ryuu's attention when we got down. I embrace myself in the wind, while that beautiful voice continues to sing. Attracted as if he wanted to swing us in the clouds. That voice was strange and captivating. He rolled his eyes and finally landed on the safe side of the lake. Beside the lake, there's a tree with a tree house on it. It cannot be seen if you are still in the temple, because that house seems to be hidden so that no other creature can see it. I slowly took off my cloak and I almost turned pale from the beauty of that lake. I glanced at the lake, at the tree house. That tree house is perfect for the strange and magical white lake. I raised my daggers in the air and one by one they penetrated the tree house. It was opened with my daggers. In this world, not only keys or magics can open anything, a dagger with a drop of blood of a pure Goddess can open it. Goddesses who are capable of any magic and the dagger I hold is still from and still has the blessing of the ancient Goddesses. I slowly closed my eyes and let myself embrace the strange air of those moments. But the daggers violently plunged into my heart and all I could do was close my eyes tightly. At the same time as I closed my eyes, he exposed me to familiar places and people. It was a village in the center of which was a large shrine to the Goddess Isleen—the womansaid to have cursed witches and wolves. Goddess Isleen? I looked around and only then did I realize that all the black robed men were holding apples with the beautiful women heading towards the temple. "Goddess Isleen. . ." I mumbled, as I roamed my eyes in the whole crowd. I covered my mouth when I realized I was in the past. I have no idea why a Goddess like me traveled to the past, and the past is where the former and the mighty Goddess of history live. Goddess Isleen. One of the famous names about the past, except for the curse given to wolves and witches not to love each other—but it was broken by two from opposite races who fought hard for a love that has never been defeated in history. I was immediately surrounded by a strange presence and smell. I looked around again and this time it was a beautiful woman waving at me. To me? I frowned at him and immediately scratched my head. "Am I the one you're waving at?" I asked him and he quickly came to me and immediately gave me a tight hug. "I've been looking for you, Goddess Kunal. Where have you been?" She exclaimed and crossed her arms to me. I frowned the moment I heard the name of Goddess Kunal. It seems like, his body was replaced by my soul that traveled to the past. In that case this is Goddess Kunal's life in the past, but I must not let this woman know that I am a Goddess—whose name and power I do not know. "Who are you again?" I act like I don't know what her name is, well. I don't really know her name. I don't want this girl to know that I'm from the future. I know that there are Goddesses who smell of another time. "Goddess Kunal. How many times a day do you forget me? I am your only friend here in our village. My name is Almera Naswen. The Goddess of the Time," she said using her soothing voice, but it doesn't make sense to me Especially and I know this is the past, and I return to the past as Diyosa Kunal—The Goddess of the Memories. I smiled at him and tried to adjust myself and that's when I noticed my outfit. A golden brown royalty gown embroidered by some stones, making to me a look that mesmerizes to my eyes. I lifted my clothes slightly and there were only the gladiator sandals style I was wearing. The clothing of the Goddesses in the past is different than today. "I, apologize. I have a lot of things that I think, something—something unnecessary for you, Naswen." I tried to smile at her, but she didn't seem to care and just dragged me to a shop selling amulets and necklaces. Amulets and necklaces are known in the world of our Goddesses to have unique powers so every time we hold them or wear them our natural powers increase. Other Goddesses then according to the story of the older Goddesses, they gave it to the white witches. White witches can be found in some lakes, in the middle of the forest or anywhere that you can find some water. It believes that the white witch believes that the water can heal any wounds from any dagger or any sword from the enemies. Sometimes I wonder—if there are still white and pure witches ba of the four empires of Daciantha and the kingdom of Heirantha. It seems that they also killed fellow witches because of the obstacle of their plans. Naswen bowed to an old man in a cloak who was now looking at me gently, as if he was examining me based on the way he was staring. After a while, a smile appeared on his lips. "What do you want with amulets and bracelets, dear Goddesses?" he asked as he pointed to the amulets and bracelets lying on a mat made of bamboo. "We are here to ask you. Where can we find or buy an amulet with a moon pendant?" Naswen kindly asked the shopkeeper. The old man did not answer us but instead went to the boxes lined up next to the table of bracelets and amulets. He took a silver box and gave it to me. To me? Although confused, I accepted it from him. I frowned when a white smoke came out when I opened it. When the smoke cleared it revealed to me a golden amulet. "Eh, it's not the one we're looking for. That's not the amulet that I want!" Naswen exclaimed like a child who will cry on this side now. He even messed up his hair and ran. I ignored him and his rambling and carefully examined the amulet inside the box. I checked that name that was embroidered in the top of the amulet. Arcane Glass of Cursing. That is what is written above the amulet. While Naswen continued to disappear beside me, I took the amulet and only then did I carefully observe its beauty. It was a gold amulet with a reflective gem in the center. But as soon as I touched it, it was covered in black smoke which caused me to stare at the shopkeeper. "You're not Goddess Kunal spirit, aren't you? The amulet I'm holding and gave you has the ability to smell creatures with a different soul. Now can you answer my question?" he asked me softly, and Naswen who was next to me just now moved to the other wind chimes shop. "I-I don't know what you're talking about, sorry." I bowed to him and quickly left that place, but I still heard his scream which added to the horror of my system at that moment. "Go back to your proper time, if you don't want your real body to erode the moment you can't go back to your proper time." Fears shrouds me when I hear that and I am unable to call Naswen who is now busy choosing wind chimes. I ran far from there and came across a temple where there were young Goddesses being trained to fight, some with weapons and some with arrows. Goddess Kunal's golden hair shining in the sun was the reason to relieve the fear I felt when I touched that amulet, and the words that old shopkeeper said. "Goddess Kunal, why is your life like this?" I whispered softly into the air. Even before I recovered from my trance, Almera Naswen's luminous body shocked me, now her entire body was full of arrows. "Almera Naswen!" I shouted and was ready to go to him when a loud explosion stopped me and the other Goddesses present. Divided theway, the ground is cracking and the temple that was beautiful to look at and still in its structure is now in my eyes slowly being destroyed. "Behold the price of a betrayal. The Goddess Almera Naswen—The Goddess of Time was killed by sorcerers for a Goddess who held the Arcane Glass of Cursing!" shouted a goddess leader holding a trident and quickly threw it into the sky causing darkness to envelop the surroundings. "Which one of you handled that forbidden thing?" she sounds mad, the way her voice raised making everyone bow down to her. "You don't know what you've done! At this time, Goddess Almera's pure body will be like hers. It will resemble the color of milk and overflow with endless sorrow!" was the last thing I heard before I opened my eyes and almost went pale as I realized I was back in the present. "The white lake. . ." I trailed when I heard the gradual rush of water coming from here. "You look pale, what happened, Caran?" Ryuu suddenly asked, which I just now noticed was next to me. "When I closed my eyes, Ryuu, I was able to return to the past. Diyosa Kunal passed by and I witnessed, with my own two eyes, how her friend disappeared in front of Diyosa Kunal—the only friend she had in her life. . ." I trailed off. His lips parted as he couldn't believe what I said. Even I did not think that the Arcane Glass of Cursing held by Goddess Kunal was the cause of her friend's death. I found myself being guilty. Am I that soul or is that already written in history? I didn't know and I fainted for a moment when I felt a strange presence from the tree house. "What? How? What portal did you use to go back in time?" Ryuu asked one after the other, but I ignored him and just focused on the tree house. Thoughts on my mind keep running like a water in a river. The tree house is somehow connected to the lake. And the lake itself was connected to Goddess Kunal, because the truth is—this is Goddess Almera Naswen. Her only friend, I got hold of the Arcane Glass of Cursing which caused her friend to be killed and cursed to become a lake. I fell to my knees in the void without noticing that I was crying, and the moment I noticed that my tears were not crystal water like the Goddesses but pearls that now mixed with the white lake. The past itself was connected to the present. What else? Every thing and every place has a hidden curse of the past. When I thought about that, I even more despaired of where we would go next. I closed my eyes and let in the scent of the air. The wind embraces my skin with the milky smell of lake dancing in the breezy air. What is this lake? This white lake? Goddess Almera Naswen was the victim by the manipulators—the witches. And now, she's a legendary and known lake in the present. But behind it—was a tremendous past. I found myself staring blankly as the memories of her came into my mind. Her name stuck in my head like a melody that keeps praying in my mind. Almera Naswen—the Goddess of Time. . . Died. Stabbed by a thousand times of poisonous arrows, and cursed as the lake of treachery—probably the symbol of treacherous.
