Ch. 34Chapter 34: Footsteps

I just glanced at six garbage bags full of garbage. I plan to take them down but later, I want to take a nap first.

I approached the bed for the umpteenth time and dropped my tired body there. I looked straight at the ceiling, "What's the news on my status, Moon Goddess? Am I qualified to enter heaven? I promise, I'll be really kind. I'm giving up on this world! I don't want to be here anymore. I'm confused," I continued.

I grabbed the pillow and buried my face in it then stomped around. "I really hope, this is the last of your evilness to me, Magnus!" I removed the pillow from my face and looked at the ceiling again. "But, you can really taste it. You're practicing my kindness, huh? Get ready," I whispered, as if I was a villain in a movie that was mentally bewitching the supposed hero.

But in an instant, the irritation in my chest gradually disappeared when I remembered the last event that happened the other day. "What does Grandpa mean by that?"

To this day I still have no idea what the old man was reminding me of. It's crazy to think that I've been thinking about that all day but two days have passed and I still can't really pinpoint the exact definition of what he said.

To not trust anyone? I am not trusting anyone!

Instead of getting a headache thinking about it, I decided to just stop it and close my eyes. "It's up to fate."

It's just amazing. How can unclaimed wolves like me who are currently fixated on such things, when we no longer have a role?

But my point here is that it's fun to be an unclaimed wolf.

The only real disadvantage is my freedom because of Magnus.

A few more hours passed and when I felt like my spirit was gradually falling asleep, it was interrupted when it heard a loud crash downstairs. I immediately sat up from lying down because of the shock I suddenly felt.

"Omg," I just said as the possible bad things happening below entered my mind one after the other. "Come on. Maybe there are some bugs there again. What the heck. I don't want to go to the hospital anymore."

My face was grim as I tried to fit six garbage bags in my finger while walking with a lazy body.

Maybe it's not a bad thing if I take it down at the same time so I don't have to worry about anything else. Also, if those armed men really do come back, hit them all right away.

I'm really smart.

I even glanced at the door of the room after leaving. I had noticed this lock before but I just couldn't bring myself to ask Magnus why out of the many rooms in this packhouse, this was the only one with a lock.

"Just resentful? Geez."

When I finally got down the stairs, I looked left and right to see if there were other people there but I was disappointed. I was about to go straight to the dining room but I also stopped on my own when I saw two maids walking from the kitchen.

"The Alpha will scold us because of you. Be careful," said one.

"This is it. It's not like that, right? Just to break a bottle. Alpha is kind. He won't scold us," replied another.

"He is. And you will abuse it?"

"I didn't say anything like that."

I didn't realize that they were passing in front of me, causing the old ladies to stop and their eyes looked at me as they watched the garbage bags I was holding. Even I widened my eyes and glanced at them, only then did I let it go when I heard them call Freya's name and they started screaming at the same time as they ran, back to the kitchen.

Oh, they have bad history with Freya?

"It's scary," I just muttered to myself.

Turns out that man has new maids. Why did he still accept me, I just offered it because I noticed that he doesn't even have a roommate here in his packhouse but he does have one. In fact, I'm fine with following Magnus every day and every night, but I might get bored of his face, so this is better.

"Can't they just take a day off?" my self-contradiction that I still don't agree with. Get ready. I'll squeeze Magnus later.

In the evening, I just stayed here in the room while meditating. I'm looking forward to Magnus passing in front of this room to ask about the thing that made me wonder today. And one more thing, apart from that, I'm so tired of having no one to talk to in this packhouse.

When I heard footsteps, I quickly put my head through the door and I was not mistaken in thinking that it was Magnus because of his lack of emotion again. He even stopped walking when he noticed my exposed head. It must be creepy to look at. Phew.

I gave him a stern look, "Where did you go earlier, huh?"

"It's none of your business," he responded angrily, raising one of my eyebrows. Why?

He was about to walk away again but before he could get away, I hurriedly went out and grabbed his arm and walked back to the room. "Come here and we'll talk about something. Hurry!"

He stopped me and removed my hold from him. "Just tell it here."

"What—no way! You're freaking out. You want someone to see us here? Too bad you're handsome, Magnus!” I'm still going to talk about it.

I noticed on his face that he wasn't convinced by what I said, but just a few seconds later, I heard footsteps from not far away and I heard them getting closer and closer! I took Magnus' arm again and opened the door then quickly went inside, I immediately closed the door before anyone could notice it.
