Ch. 20Chapter 20: Shepa

"L-Let go of me!" It's hard to breathe, I scream here.

And at that time, I did not expect it to let go of me but in a way that caused the pain to increase, to double. I groaned trying to stand up and only stopped when I saw an old lady fighting off the crazy black smoke that was shaping the human body!

"Run, young lady!" the old lady screamed.

I immediately shook my head. I can't just leave her alone.

I was about to go to their place but everything was interrupted again when someone threw some kind of thing into the opposing smoke which made it disappear like a bubble. I, on the other hand, could do nothing but go to the sitting woman because of the fatigue that I immediately felt.

"Thank you very much for saving me," I said sincerely.

My eyes widened when she suddenly grabbed my arm tightly. "Until it's too early, stay away from that man. He can't help you with anything but disaster," she said to me seriously, warning me.

“Who—”

"If you persist in what you want, there is a possibility that you will perish. Stop it, young lady."

"I don't understand you," I replied confusedly. "Who are you talking about?"

She tightened her hold on me even more. "Be careful. Repentance comes later.”

"Old lady, who are you? What is your name?" I added, gradually feeling nervous about what she was saying.

After I asked that, I suddenly noticed the slight arch of the side of her lips that I couldn't explain what it meant but her sudden response made me stop all over again.

"Dorothy."

Chapter 7

Is she referring to Magnus? What is this old lady talking about... I know that Magnus Haven is dangerous and I accepted the consequences a long time ago just to help Prince Malbonte.
I'm really confused about this old lady. I feel like something is missing. I am indebted to her because she saved me from that crazy smoke, so, I shouldn't suspect her badly.

After I asked who the old lady is, she smiled at me and said...

"Dorothy."

When I gradually remembered where I heard that name, I suddenly let go of the old lady while still staring at her in the eyes. If you look at it carefully, she looks kind and can't do bad things, she even managed to save me. It's not like the bad identification of her by others that I only hear.

"Are you... Dorothy?" I confirmed intermittently.

She easily took both of my hands and stared back at me, "Will you be afraid of me if I say yes, I am Dorothy... the one that all unclaimed wolves fear?"

I can't explain what it must feel like at this time. The truth of that is that I still have no idea and knowledge of Dorothy's true personality, I only hear gossips and I have not yet seen what this old lady can do, whether I will perish in her company or not.

I even noticed a little sadness on her face, as if she already knew what I was going to answer.

Yes, I will admit that I felt a sudden fear when she said that she was Dorothy but I also can't hide inside that I felt her kindness, not only because she saved me but I could really feel it.

"I can feel that..." I hung up. I let out a heavy breath. "I feel that you are a good person. So, whatever bad information I heard about you, I will tell you right now that I will not believe it."

"Are you sure about what you are saying, young lady?" she suddenly asked me a serious question.

"Yes." I scratched my forehead, "Why? Is it wrong?"

She didn't answer me anymore and quickly covered her head with the black cloak before standing up. She was about to run away from me but before that I stopped her by holding her arm.

“Dorothy?” I called her by her name.

She looked at me with sadness in her eyes. “I kept saving my fellow unclaimed wolves with black smoke, and in the end I would only receive judgment in their eyes because of their false belief in who I am. I have heard many times from others that they are not afraid of me but in the end they just leave me. It's scary and you might be one of them, young lady," he said at length causing me to swallow.

"No," I immediately shook my head. "Don't think like that. I can see you are really kind. Thank you again for saving me, Dorothy.”

Only then I saw her true smile which made me smile too. Meanwhile, I asked, "Which man are you talking about by the way?"

"Danger has overtaken you once, never again." That's all and suddenly the old lady disappeared from my sight, she teleported and I don't know how she did it.

But all her warnings to me were surprising. It was so deep that even if I looked into it, I couldn't understand or determine what she was really saying. Damn, it creeps me out.

Next morning.

I was no longer surprised when Magnus' blank face turned to me. I've been staring at it for a while going back and forth in my memory of the meeting between Dorothy and I.

We are currently here at the main hall of the packhouse while still entertaining special guests looking at display miniatures packhouses. It just happened that Magnus had finished talking to them so I was the one he next noticed.

"You always stare at my face," he said, irritated.

If the old lady is referring to him... should I avoid him right now? Why? What reason should I avoid him? If in the beginning, he owns me as his slave. Do I have a choice?

"I just noticed..." I began. "You're really handsome even from afar and up close." I don't know where I got the strength to say that to him but maybe what I said was fine so that he wouldn't sus my thoughts.
