Ch. 17Chapter 17: Impostor

But suddenly, I saw Magnus' name in that painting that made me feel shocked. I didn't think he was this good at painting, it seems like every color there has meanings that only professionals like him know.

"You got a talent, Alpha. Now, I'm jealous of you," I complimented, then I looked at him. "You know what? In a group of people, you are one of the persons who is blessed with a good personality, intelligence, and of course, handsomeness."

Smiling, I face him. "An Alpha like you is sure to be chased by girls. But I am curious, Alpha," I whispered naughtily, "do you already have a girlfriend?

"Can you please shut your mouth in at least one second? I'm reading," he replied irritated and still manages to look at his book.

I nodded while the smile was still on my face, "Okay, I'm going to count, okay? Okay. In one—tut— time is up. I can talk again" I happily, foolishly responded.

When he didn't answer me, I spoke again. "Aren't you good at drawing? Why don't you take a portrait of my face? I want you to draw me that would look me like a goddess. Let's see if you're really good, Alpha." I smirk in front of him, he will surely think I was crazy.

That's when I noticed Magnus glancing at me little by little but the seriousness was still there, always, I didn't even see the smile on his lips and the joy in his eyes.

"Who are you?" he suddenly asked coldly, causing me to remain silent.

Suddenly I remembered the unacceptable thing he did to me just because I didn't call him Alpha. I don't want that thing to happen again because of my nagging, but every time I think of Prince Malbonte crying, I lose my concern. Call me desperate-shit or whatever but I will stand by what I promised Prince Malbonte.

I bravely faced him. "I am maybe a slave in this pack but you still can't hide the fact that I am a princess," I said arrogantly causing him to stare at me.

His lips arched up and he shook his head, "From then until now, you're still scolding me," he whispered, causing me to suddenly frown.

"Pardon?" I asked.

"Nothing," he promptly answered. There he dropped the book on the table and focused his full attention on me. "I don't care if you're a wolf or a frog princess, but I don't owe you one so stop ordering me."

My eyes widened because of what he said. "Frog? Hey. I thought you were a pro? Gosh. To spend only a pencil and paper? I just want to see what I look like. If I am beautiful or very beautiful or too much in the word of beauty and godliness? ”

"No need. I'll just describe you right now," he said while folding his arms and he looked at me.

I, on the other hand, felt excited at what he said, causing me to turn around again. "Fix what you're going to say, Alpha, I'm waiting."

"You're beautiful," he said directly, causing me to suddenly smile like I was being pinched by two loaves of bread.

I simply put a few strands of hair behind the ear and hit the air, "I know, right! It's good that you see—"

"And that beauty means nothing to me."

Suddenly the smile on my face disappeared, "Really, huh?" I suddenly snorted.

He shrugged. "'Cuz maybe until now, I couldn't see what your wolf look like is."

Because of that my emotions disappeared. He is right. Even I have not yet seen or recognized my wolf. I expected her to appear the moment I turned 18, but I was wrong because until now, she's not coming out.

He looked at me seriously. "Are you really a wolf?"

"I am," I said confidently.

Magnus laughed full of sarcasm, "Unclaimed wolf, you mean."

I bowed because of what he said. I heard about unclaimed wolves. and they were called curse as bad as rogues. They say Moon Goddess doesn't want them to claim as hers that's why. And maybe, I am really a curse.

The next morning, I walked towards the tree house where Prince Malbonte often hangs out. I plan to go there and give Prince Malbonte a refreshment for this morning. It's been a few weeks since I last saw him since he was busy following Magnus' orders to him.

Really. I miss that boy.

I walked easily but before I started walking far, I passed the big gate of the packhouse. I stopped when I noticed a carriage parked not far away. It's even shocking to see that the driver of the carriage was smoking continuously while still blowing it out of the window. But out of everything I noticed about that matter, he was staring at Magnus' packhouse that surprised me completely.

I grimaced and later added with a shrug, "'Well, this packhouse of BloodPearl is really strong enough to attract attention. It's just not enough to honor the best center of attention. Shocking."

Eventually, I just ignored it and started the walk again. "What a beautiful morning for those bad days had past," I still whispered.

Now that I confirmed I was an unclaimed wolf, I don't know what to do. It is also spread throughout BloodPearl that I am an unclaimed wolf and that simply means to them of Moon Goddess hates me.

But anyways, I am already used to it from the day I was in Sonorous Pack. I should be grateful. Because of my being an unclaimed wolf, Magnus rejects me and that simply means that I escaped the duty of a Luna. Welp, that's better especially since I'm not Magnus' real mate.

I am just an impostor.

I took a deep breath and smiled. I looked up at the sky. It's fun and exciting to wake up early in the morning with this delicious warmth of the sun hugging your body. It doesn't hurt the skin at all.
