Ch. 10Chapter 10: Acting

I stared at Lucas. I see him moving slowly to cut the rope in his hand. He took the opportunity to remove all the ties from his body!
"Lucas Woods..." I couldn't help but say cause he just looked at me.
I felt him stop when he saw me. He looked at me from head to toe. I know he knows I'm Mia Eveleigh.
I thought I could see the conscience in his eyes but I was wrong when his face turned serious and he turned away from me without care. He quickly made his way to the area where the speedboats were and made his escape without being noticed by the guards.
Magnus' POV
The door was bang opened which caused the captain to stop for a moment. He saw two people enter the bridge without hesitation while holding... swords?! His eyes widened in shock and thought who the hell these bastards are. But he just ended up screaming in fright.
"Don't hurt me!" The captain raised both his hands in fear.
But as the man walked closer to the captain, the man grabbed the captain by his collar and threw him away from where he was sitting. The captain fell to the floor and writhed in pain. The man walked closer to him again as he heard his horrible laughter getting louder and louder. The man sat up slightly to match him with a smirk on his face.
Meanwhile, the captain felt the cold steel applied to his forehead, causing him to tremble even more. Even though he is lost in his own trance, he is not stupid enough not to think that the sharp sword is pointed at him and he's gonna die the moment this man slips it through his head.
"What packs?" The man's cold voice dominated.
The captain shook his head. But then he stopped voluntarily when he felt the sword on his skin. "It's from syndicate organization, Sonorous Pack! That's all I know!" he immediately replied.
Then a silly grin on Magnus' lips gradually disappeared. With so many packs, he expected Sonorous Pack to be their victim this night. What a fun opportunity, he told himself.
"Take a rest now," Magnus patted the captain's head. At the same time, he thrust the sword at the captain without hesitation which caused blood to splatter on the floor.
Magnus sighed and stood up and walked over to the navigation chart. Magnus stared at the route while still cleaning the remaining blood stain from his sword. But for a moment he looked at Artemis Williams who, after fixing the ship's apparatus, sat down in the captain's chair without any emotion on her face.
Meanwhile, Artemis looked at the signal coming from their comrade and just smirked softly. "We have captured Sonorous' rogues. And their captives are now safe with our comrades. The swords are safe for trade too, shall we call now, Alpha?"
The Sonorous' rogues are known as unknown rogues that are scattered in the Kingdom of Sonorous which is the reason why there is a missing omega in their kingdom. And all of that was Alpha Dominn's secret plan. And now the Sonorous' rogues have expanded so much that they almost entered Avalonn Kingdom where the BloodPearl Pack is, and managed to kidnap some omegas to trade with syndicate rogues.
But Magnus won't let that happen, so here he was.
Magnus looked back at the chart. "Stop the plan. We will not call for transaction tonight," he said causing Artemis to be stopped.
They are currently on the bridge of the cargo ship that is their victim now. The ship was loaded with various types of swords. This is from the Sonorous Pack who has transactions in the syndicated rogues. It's silly to think that Alpha Dominn who sits on a couch and smokes all day can make billions just by sailing a ship. But since the BloodPearl Pack now holds the cargo, it looks like bad luck will return to the Sonorous Pack's Alpha.
Magnus smirked at that thought. "We will get this whole ship back with us."
Magnus grinned then added, "Tell them to kill all the Sonorous' rogues."
Artemis gave Magnus a confused look. Usually after they rescue the omegas who are held captive by random rogues, they use that opportunity to sell all the contents of the cargo to random syndicate rogues.
Magnus calmly looked back at her. Yeah, right. How can Magnus forget that this woman is a daughter of an old former Alpha too? She inherits her father's intelligence, really.
Magnus shook his head.
"I just know Alpha Dominn well. If other Alpha does, he doesn't. He was never a puppet of hijacking," Magnus said.
Meanwhile, he raised his dagger with a frown before walking towards Artemis' back. When he got closer, Magnus even placed his hands on the table in front of the woman so that she could be trapped by his arms. They stared at the reflection of the glass wall in front of them.
And Magnus spoke, "He's not the kind of person who will fall victim as quickly as you think, Artemis."
Artemis witnessed in their reflection how Magnus' lips touched her shoulder going up to her neck. "So if I were you," he whispered as he pointed the dagger at Artemis' head and continued, "I would just follow and start the ship. Don't you agree?"
Artemis got stunned when she suddenly felt Magnus' warm breath on her neck. The scent of mint coming from his breath was applied to her smell, causing her to close her eyes tightly. But because of that, Artemis became more serious. "Just make sure you don't hide anything from the pack, Alpha Magnus, 'cause if not..." Artemis aimed her dagger and pointed it at Magnus' throat which made him stop for a while. "I, the Gamma of BloodPearl, will kill you."
They stared at each other's reflection. They are both pointing swords. One in the throat and one in the head. Not knowing who will be the one who will push the blades through their skins.
"You're not expecting something, are you?" Magnus asked, silence prevailed as they stared at each other.
And in the end, Artemis giggled. "No, Alpha."
Magnus just looked down and laughingly removed the point of the dagger on her head. They don't know which to laugh at. And their cringe acting skills? Or at the reflection of the Sonorous' rogue who is now shaking in fear while pointing a sword at the two of them in their back. Well, basically, their acting was for this rogue.
Magnus stood up with both hands up. Chuckling, he said alright. He moved on and then he faced the Sonorous' rogue who still couldn't get him to move from where he was standing. “Hey, puppy. Wanna have a treat?”
Even before the Sonorous' rogue could speak, Magnus throws the dagger straight to his forehead causing him to fall to the floor.
Bad shot, Magnus told himself. How unfortunate it was, it hasn't gone straight to his eyes.
