The young lady prepared iced coffee and macarons on the table, both of them sitting in front of me.

"What brings you here, dear?" she started talking as she offered me their food. I took it and tasted. Wow! It is delicious! It melts in my mouth, and I can't figure out the flavor and taste because of the exquisite dessert I'm savoring! Amazing!

I swallowed what I was eating and turned my attention to the woman. "I was just wondering if—" she cut me off mid-sentence.

"What? I can't understand you," she muttered with narrowed eyes. I didn't know what to say. Don't they understand English? No wonder the child almost tilted her head off while I was talking earlier; they don't understand this language.

That child could've told me earlier! Tsk.

"Uh, what I mean is... what kind of place is this?" I asked the lady politely. I saw her pause in chewing her food, then she looked at me as if she would replace me with what she's chewing right now.

I just swallowed my own saliva at the thought. Shocks. I hope not!

"Don't you know where you are?" she rebutted with a question.

Ugh! Come on, Fia, think of something that can make the lady tell what kind of world you've entered! I am not that smart, but an idea suddenly popped into my mind.

"I don't know. All I know is that when I woke up, I was already here in your place," I lied, picking another piece of macaron from the plate. No need to be shy here. I'm hungry.

"I forgot everything. I can't remember what my parents look like, even the face of our house. It seems like evil beings invaded our home and attempted something against us, taking our memories using their powers so we couldn't return to our beloved home!" I spoke like a mad person in front of the two of them. Holding the yellow macarons like an instrument, I pretended to dance a doxology in front of them while narrating a lie.

I observed as the lady's expression shifted to a mournful one, while the child beside her rolled her eyes. I subtly glared at the child, making her look at me in disbelief. She probably thought I wouldn't bother with a child. Pfft...

"Have you perhaps bumped your head and forgotten your past?" she asked curiously. I didn't say a thing; I just nodded at her while enjoying my delicious macarons. Phew. Glad she believed!

I saw the woman sit as if she was about to tell a very long story. She clasped her hands and looked straight at me.

She sighed before speaking. "For now, I'll summarize what happened to us back then..." she began, clearing her throat before continuing.

"We were merely slaves to the lowly beings who sowed chaos and hunger upon us a thousand years ago. They did nothing but exploit our powers for their selfish needs," she continued with her narrative.

"Until one day, a member of our kind stood up, defeated the evil, and finally achieved the freedom we desired while we were still tormented by those mortals. Using our abilities, we eradicated them, wiping them all out from the world we now inhabit. And if we ever find any remaining... we execute them by hanging in front of the Cardinal kingdom, where they once tormented and belittled us." I gulped a few times as she recounted that story.

They believe humans are now extinct.

Is this a world of enchantments? Are they not immortals? Oh, wait, aren't enchantments also immortals? Am I right or wrong?

I should find my way out of here before it’s too late. Like, hello?! Did you hear what that woman said? Whenever they see mortals wandering in their world, they might not sleep until it's killed.

I forced a smile while savoring the last macaroons in front of me. "That's a gruesome occurrence," I muttered to myself as I closed my eyes.

I will just finish my treats before I go. These delicious macaroons would go to waste if I don't finish them.

“I need to—oh right,” I stopped talking when I realized that they will never understand me if I continue speaking in English.

I saw the child raise her left brow while looking at me. Attitude, really? I feel like hugging her tightly!

I just gave her a stern look and redirected my attention to her kind mother. “What I mean is I need to leave; I might be missed at home.” I noticed the woman furrowing her brow. Oh crap, I am just bringing myself into a trap.

“Didn't you say you came here to ask for directions to your home?” she asked. She stood up slowly, so I quickly swallowed the macaroons I was eating.

I saw the little lady shaking her head in disappointment. Okay, fine! I know I am not good at making excuses, a silly girl who knows nothing but clicking her tongue!

I just rolled my eyes at that child, and her mouth formed an ‘o’ in shock.

“Mom, let her go, she's grown up, and she can take care of herself,” she said to her mother. “She's already this big but still can't find her way, is she one year old or what?” I heard the child mutter something under her breath.

Now it’s my turn to form a letter ‘o’ in shock. Wow, that girl is annoying. If you weren't a child, ugh!

“Miss, I would like to know your name before you leave our place,” the woman asked me politely. I just smiled and spilled my name to her.

“I am Fiamiolle, pleased to meet you. Thank you also for the small but delicious treat you prepared for me!” My smile was from ear to ear.

I saw her smiling broadly as well. Damn! She’s so pretty!

As I held the doorknob and walked out, I bid my farewell and thanked her once again.

When I stepped outside, I once again marveled at the breathtaking scenery that I had never seen in my entire life until now. Oh, before I forget, I need to get home as fast as I can! Because if I don't... Ohhh! I can't even imagine it! Maybe they will burn me into pieces if they find out that I am human, or worse, freeze me to death.

I walked around, encountering unfamiliar faces. They all just smiled at me and bowed, so I did the same. I respect them, even though I know they might behead me once they realize I'm mortal.

I quickened my pace. Dang! Where is that small path the mother and daughter showed me earlier?!

I looked around, turning my head. I suddenly stopped when I saw something fascinating. I thought Carl was the only one who caught my attention with his looks, not until I met this guy standing at the center of a fountain. I mean, he's at the top of the fountain! For Pete’s sake, what is he doing there?!

I rushed toward him without realizing that this world is not the same as ours.

"Hey! Youuu— oh," I belatedly realized I was in a different world, and everything weird happening here is normal to them. Oh God! That’s right, Fia! You’re not in your world, silly!

He looked in my direction with knitted brows, then suddenly appeared in front of me! What?! How did he do that?

"What can I do for you, miss?" he politely greeted me, which made me nervous. I mean, I don't know, but I felt something rumbling in my stomach, and my heart was pounding loudly as if I could hear it outside my body!

"Uh-ehh, I was— I was just— uhm…" What’s happening?! Why the heck am I stuttering in front of this guy? Is it because he's handsome, or am I just plain awkward? Ugh.

"Oh, you can speak this kind of language?" he asked, shocked at what he witnessed. Even I was shocked. He can speak English! Unlike the mother and daughter earlier.

"Yes! I can, barely, hahaha," I said and faked my laugh. Lol, this is awkward.

I saw him smile. Oh woww! So handsome! Where was he conceived?

"I've only learned a few things in that language. Actually, our school doesn't allow us to speak that language," he explained. Well, not bad, he is talkative even if we just met. Imagine that, I've talked to a handsome creature here.

"I'm Rhenouis. You can also call me Rhen! Nice to meet you!" he introduced himself warmly and offered his hand in front of me.

Is it okay if I tell him my real name or not? There are many circumstances if he knows my name. What if someone catches me being a mortal, and I am on the run or hiding, then he might know my location. You know, this is not the world I know, and you can't predict what will happen next because of its wonders. However, he told me his real name, so I will reconsider this one.

"Fiamiolle," I simply said, and we shook hands. After that, he bid farewell to me, leaving me behind in this garden.

I facepalmed when I realized I also mentioned my name to the mother and daughter earlier. Great! Now, I can’t hide my identity.

I stomped my foot in frustration and pulled my hair in annoyance for the stupidity I exhibited today.

Like, what am I supposed to do in this world?! How can I go back to our world without them noticing that I am not one of them?! Should I go back to the forest? Or just— ugh. Whatever. Why can't I just time travel to the past and stop entering this world? Oh! That’s right!

I jumped for joy when I finally realized that. Such a brilliant idea! Wait? Where can I find an immortal with that supernatural power?

I don't know anyone here, just three so far, and one of them is a little brat with an attitude. Where in this world can I find an immortal with that ability?!

I slapped my forehead in frustration. Ugh, my luck is really bad.

I lay down on the side.

I decided to roam my eyes around, looking at the whole garden. I just realized that it is already evening. The fireflies that do not look like one are wandering around the garden. The two moons are shining like the sun in the morning, and a million stars are sparkling so brightly. I was stunned by the view that served my eyes. This evening that I witnessed is more coruscating than I ever glanced before.

"It’s astonishing," I muttered as I solidify at my spot…

Wait…

H-Hey! I am literally frozen on my spot! I can’t move my whole body for Pete’s sake! I dawdled my eyes around because that’s the only part of my body that can move, then I saw a group of people, including Rhen. My left eye twitched when I saw that angelic face. Tsk! If only I knew that he is not as kind as his face was, I’d never have approached him in this garden!

Appearance fools you, huh?

"She is here."

AUTHOR’S NOTE: The attitude kid, her mother and the other character who lived in the Kingdom speaks Filipino language, but I just translated for you to understand it! In addition, only few can speak, and understand the English language! Thank you very much!
