Ch. 8Chapter 6

"No matter how hard I try I cannot get enough of you." He shook and walked back to the car.

Freya thought her torture was over for the day when he called her again. "Nobody is going to trouble you there. But in case anything wrong happens you know I am just a phone call away."
Freya went wondering the suffering from her step mother and sister was more severe or it was the ill treatment from the bipolar Justin Cooper.

Justin knew Freya abhored him. Even though he wanted to show her the love she needed, he couldn't do it. Every time he thought about her it was not only his fondness for her that ventilated but revenge and despair too for she had left him without a turn back in his most vulnerable situation.

Soon after he drove home, Justin visited the bar and gulped the brown liquid to tranquilize his aching cells. Just as he was about to pour his second drink he got the call of Freya. His senses were immediately on an alert. Was she abused, beaten? Is she going to be fine?

Questions poured from Justin's brain like a hail storm. He immediately grabbed his car keys while reaching the exit. "Yeah I'm coming. Don't worry." He says in his deep and anxious voice.

"No...no need to come." There was a fear in her tone accompanied with an agitation. "I wanted to know....did I miss my purse in your car?"

Justin breathed out the air he didn't know he was holding. "Yeah I got your purse with me. Don't worry I will bring it up to you."

"No" Justin was taken aback by her abrupt knock out but she recollected quick. Freya cleared her throat subliminal. "I mean why bother, we will anyhow meet for the engagement and I can collect it from there."

Justin narrowed his eyes though Freya couldn't see him. "Are you by any means trying to avoid me Ms Freya Stiller, because if you do, you're in for a lot of trouble. I'm soon going to be your husband."

Was Freya's life going to turn better marrying Justin Cooper or she is just going to be one of the many women he fucked and later leave like a piece of trash?

The the very utterance of his dense words brought cold shivers down Freya's spine.

Justin took a gulp of his drink and looked at the purse beside him. It looked very old and much used. The first thing which added in his note list for his beloved was - buy a few varieties of fancy and fine looking clutches that she could carry for any kind of occasion.

He looked at the caller list and dialed the number warrantied. "Yeah send me the pictures of clutches with choicest and exquisite material. You know price isn't a constraint." Justin spoke profound and commanding.

In the next ten minutes he could see around hundred varieties of hand bags and purses in different colors and over the odds. Justin selected around fifty.

"Courier the clutches along with a bouquet of red roses with the note I send you. I already mailed to you the address and remember not to stick my name. Send the bill to my secretary. She will look after the needful." He ordered and cut the call.

Justin was then intrigued on what belonged inside. Looking into somebody's purse was intrusion of their privacy but Freya was soon going to be his wife. Isn't it? He justified himself and opened it.

The clutch held very few articles. Some dollar bills, a lipstick, hair brush and a sanitary pad. Justin shook his head and smiled but suddenly his mood changed when his eyes fell on a certain picture of a young man, her late husband Eden.

The most painful goodbye is the ears haven't heard it yet the heart already feels.

His stance was immediate on a tornado. She is probably still in love with him for she still carries his picture in her purse. Justin's lips pressed tight in a thin line as he gulped the golden liquid before stirring it in a single go.

He dialed her number in a record irate. "Our engagement is day after tomorrow." He grates the words and was about to cut the call acting the insensate man he was stamped since years but her frail voice interrupted him. "You said it would be the next week?" He presses the glass in his hands so tight that it breaks falling to the ground.

"That is none of your business. What I say is final here." He hisses in pain with the injury caused by the breakage of glass in his hand. "You said this marriage is just a contract. So it is no big deal if the engagement is day after tomorrow or a week later." Justin slapped his words to Freya and cut the call instantly.

He did not know how long he drank. After sometime his eyes began to drop and his legs began to shiver. Justin wobbled to the bed and closed his eyes welcomed by a deep slumber.

The next day morning Freya heard a calling bell at the entrance and was welcomed by a bouquet of Red roses accompanied by two large cartons placed in front of her door. Freya was puzzled noting the mysterious gesture.

Intrigued she opened the gift cartons and to see for her surprise they were filled with varieties of high priced clutches and hand bags suitable to every occasion.

Looking at the opulent gift collection Freya was dumb struck and so were the other members in her family. "I will take these." Alaska sided a few purses of her choice and squealed in happiness not even bothered of the fact that the presents didn't belong to her but to her sister's.
Freya was too shocked to respond to Alaska and tried to find the sender's name on the bouquet but found none. It only contained a small note.
