“Lyka, you really brought her along?” Lyka's friend raised an eyebrow in surprise.

Lyka and her friends had planned a shopping spree for the day, meeting at a coffee shop just outside the camp.

“Yeah, I needed someone to accompany me today, and besides, I couldn't leave her alone at camp, especially since the Silverwoods would be visiting my father,” Lyka explained to them.

“That night I haven't figure out yet - nevermind let's finish our coffee quickly,” Lyka added, trying to brush off the topic.

Her friends exchanged puzzled glances but complied, finishing their coffee before continuing their shopping. As they shopped, Emma ended up becoming their chaperone, carrying numerous shopping bags for them. By the time they finished, it was already nighttime. Emma, having tirelessly hopped from store to store throughout the day, began to feel the fatigue slowly creeping in.

When they returned home, Lyka arranged for a few items for Emma before deciding to retire for the night. Once Lyka was finally in bed, she made her way to her room and then ventured outside. As a werewolf, she had the freedom to roam, especially at night, a privilege retained from her supernatural abilities. Werewolves, like her, often ventured out at night for what they called a 'moon shower.' The moon provided them with vital energy, particularly during the full moon, serving as a source of power for their world.

Emma transformed into her wolf form and made her way to the cliff, a spot she frequented for offering prayers to the moon goddess and connecting with the moon energy. After her prayers, she headed to her usual sanctuary: a small cave nestled deep within the enchanting forest within the camp. This secluded place remained largely untouched, as very few ventured there unless driven by a specific purpose. However, Emma’s supernatural speed allowed her to reach it effortlessly. Inside the cave, she rested, her gaze fixed on the mesmerizing sight of fireflies illuminating the darkness and the pond below, reflecting the silvery glow of the moon above.

“Wow, there's a hidden paradise in here,” a voice exclaimed.

Startled by the sudden presence of someone, Emma cautiously stepped out of the cave to identify the individual. Fortunately, the person seemed unaware of her. The man stood at the water's edge, captivated by the forest's beauty. Emma was taken aback to discover that the man was none other than Garrett, the son of the future alpha leader, Aurelius. In a panic, she quickly left the area, avoiding any interaction with him.

Garrett heard a rustle from the cave and saw a wolf emerge. "Wait!" he called out, but Emma swiftly escaped his view.

“That was incredibly fast. I hope I didn't disturb someone here,” Garrett mumbled to himself, watching the disappearing figure.

Emma sprinted back to the Wildeye residence, her heart pounding with the encounter.

'Emma, relax. It was just the alpha leader's son. No need to worry about it,' reassured Emily, her wolf companion.

“I know, but I have this feeling that I should avoid interacting with the alpha leaders, aside from that one time when Sir Aurelius summoned us. You know how they treat us omegas, and I don't want to hear any discrimination from him or the leader. I respect them, so maintaining distance seems like the best way to preserve that respect,” Emma explained, her voice laced with concern.

Her wolf sighed, understanding Emma's perspective, and allowed her to handle the situation her own way.

Once she arrived at the Wildeye residence, Emma approached the back door and transformed back into her human form before entering. Without delay, she made her way to her room.

Emma woke up early and assisted in preparing breakfast for the Wildeye household. The family members gradually emerged from their rooms and gathered in the dining room, enjoying a peaceful meal together.

Amidst cleaning the dining area later, Lyka summoned Emma for an errand. It had been three months since Emma had started working at the Wildeye residence. During this time, her days were filled with routine tasks, primarily centered around serving Lyka Wildeye. Additionally, Lyka, like many elite werewolf families, attends university.

As night descended, Emma returned to her room after fulfilling all of Lyka's orders. After a refreshing bath, she received a message from her mother.

Emma's father had been employed as a laborer at the main pack house. For omegas, securing a decent, well-paying job was challenging due to discrimination and stereotypes they faced. Many believed that omegas were only fit for manual labor and servitude, rooted in the misconception that omegas were inherently weak and incapable of serving as guards or warrior wolves. Although the role of a warrior wolf is not the same as before, they were still assigned for pack defense during potential attacks.

She promptly replied to her mother's message.

‘I'll come to visit this weekend. I apologize for not being able to come home during the weekends lately. There have been numerous events and celebrations at the Wildeye residence in the past three months, keeping us occupied with the preparations.’

Over the preceding three months, the Wildeye residence had been bustling with numerous events and celebrations. While the staff typically had the opportunity to return home for the weekend, Emma found herself unable to do so because of the constant events and the extensive preparations required for these events.

The weekend finally arrived, and she eagerly made her way home.

The weekend finally arrived, and she eagerly made her way home.

“I'm home!” she called out enthusiastically upon entering.

However, there was no response no one was present in the living room. Puzzled, she began to wonder where everyone was, and as she made her way through the house, she overheard hushed conversations from the kitchen slash dining area. Entering the room, she found her family engrossed in a serious discussion.

“I can't believe they accused you of stealing. It's unbelievable; they don't have any evidence, do they? This is so unfair,” her mother's voice trembled as she spoke.

“What's going on?” Emma interjected, making her presence known.

Their intense conversation came to a pause as they turned to her.

“Emma, you're home,” her father acknowledged.

“What's going on? Why is Erik being accused of stealing?” she questioned, taking a seat at the dining table to join their discussion.

“The Bardwulfs have accused your brother of stealing from their residence,” her father explained.

“What? On what grounds?” she demanded to know.

“Erik put the blame on me. He accidentally broke an expensive vase at their house, and in an attempt to conceal it, he placed the vase shards in my room,” her brother confessed.

“What?” Emma exclaimed in disbelief.

“So, what did the Bardwulfs say?” she asked, her shock evident in her voice.

“They want to take this to court. They want your brother to face punishment,” her father informed her.

“What? Without a proper investigation?” Emma's voice rose in protest.

“They are convinced that your brother stole the vase and broke it,” her mother explained, her tone filled with frustration.

“Wait, this Erik, he's a beta, right? The son of the beta of our alpha leader, Aurelius?” Emma clarified.

“Yes,” her mother confirmed.

Emma's frustration grew, her voice laced with anger. “Curse them! Just because my brother is from an omega family, they'll treat him like this?” She was clearly exasperated by the unfair treatment her family was facing.

“The court hearing is scheduled for this weekend,” her brother informed them.

Emma connected the dots and questioned, “So, perhaps that's why you were relieved from your duties at the main pack house, Dad?”

“I suppose,” her father responded with a hint of sadness in his voice.

“This is undeniably unfair,” Emma remarked, her frustration apparent.

Emma found it hard to grasp the reality - a court hearing, triggered by a mere vase incident, was about to take place without a proper investigation. The news left her deeply frustrated, highlighting the harsh truth about the discrimination faced by omegas. A sense of foreboding settled over her; she couldn't shake the feeling that this situation wouldn't end well.
