Ch. 4Graduation Nights

“Congratulations, our youngest; you’ve made it.” Mommy, Daddy, and my brother greeted me at the same time, which I reciprocated with a tight hug. “Thank you for all your support.”
“Congratulations, Meisha.” Greetings from my brother’s friends, who are always present here at our home. Are these people still working? I just noticed that it doesn’t seem like it. Many more congratulated her.
“Thank you, thank you to all of you. I am grateful for all of you.
Today is my special day—my graduation day. I just received my diploma, which is a sign of confirmation of my graduation, and I am proud of myself. I thank the Lord above that I graduated magna-cumlaude in a field of my choice, and no one can describe how happy I am. I have many calling cards that I have collected from different companies that want my service.
Mommy and Daddy prepared a party after we got home.
The party was held on the lawn of the garden behind the house. Pouring wine and food. Toast here, toast there. Everyone is enjoying themselves; some are singing along to the music. Someone screams and dances. When the dirty dance songs are played, everyone is celebrating and rejoicing in the success, including the colorful and expensive disco lights.
A the music played Daleng Dale by MMJ, many of my cousins, friends, and classmates pulled me to the middle of the dance floor to join them dancing. And because I also love dancing, I decided to dance in the beat of music. Because I like dancing and I’m good at it and I love singing too but singing hates want me and were not meant to be.

Uy, sino siya?

At the same time, he taught me to let me be alone in the middle of the crowd they make space for me so that I could dance alone, as the lyrics in the song say the grind is fierce. It’s just like a show down. I, on the other hand, am so excited to dance.

From where I was on the dance floor, I could see my brother and his friends also drinking, and they looked like they were drunk. Later I saw Dwayne stand up and strongly drop the beer bottle on their table. I said goodbye to the people around me when I danced and immediately left the dance floor to go to where my brother’s table is.
“What happened to that guy?” I immediately asked my brother, referring to what Dwayne did. They just shrugged their shoulders.
“We were also surprised; he suddenly walked out.”
I run to followed him, as he seemed to be leaving the mansion. I caught him getting into his car.
“Future hubby” I shouted
“What?”
“You drunk.”
“Who’s drunk? Well, it looks like you seem even more drunk on me either, and you’re dancing obscenely. Are you like that at the parties you’re going? Or maybe it’s someone who grabs and touches all over your body without realizing it because of that damn sexy dance, or maybe you want it too.”
“How dare you judge me like that?” I slap him for criticizing me.
“Hey, why are you lapping him?” Let’s go lover boy, so we can have more fun together.”
“And who are you?”
“His partner for tonight for you to know.”
“Wow, so proud, partner, for where?”
“It’s none of your business.”
“It’s my business. If you don’t know me,I introduced myself. I’m the one and only future wife you’re talking about.” I raised my eyebrows and replied to the woman next to Dwayne’s car, whose face was thick with make-up, and turned to Dwayne.
“Ohhh, who’s flirting with the two of us now? You don’t like me, but you’ve been picked worse in me. Go, I don’t care to you both if where the hell are you two going, f**k buddies?”

“Hey, Shang, what happened? I know we’re celebrating Graduation Day, but your face looks like you’re mourning?”
I’m here right now at the poolside of our backyard house. I didn’t go back to the party; I lost my appetite going there. But my best friend of mine smelled that I am here in the pool, to which I said thank you, and at least I have sympathy for emoting there. Fatima has been my best friend since high school, but we didn’t graduate from college together; she came first because her IQ was accelerated.
“Ohh, what wind brought you here?”
“I just inhaled your herb perfume, so I landed here.” I smiled.
“You know that I have no close friends there, but you left me. What kind of best friend are you?”
“Because we will renovate your face to reveal the hidden treasure, which you don’t want to show.”
“You turned my face into a house.” It makes me smile. “Wait a minute, why are you messing with my face? The last time I checked, I was the one asking the question, and you haven’t answered me yet.
“Dwayne walked out of the party with his f**k buddy.” I frowned at this.
“A f**k buddy? Why? Did you see that they do fuc**** together? To tell me that they are f**k buddies.?”
“No, but the Chaka girl said it was his partner. It’s understood.”
“You jumped to your conclusion again—that you didn’t confirm it yet. Didn’t you think that maybe the girl was just an assuming frog?”
“See. You just hurt your feelings with your senseless insecurities. Come here.” I came to him, and he hugged me.
“Don’t force yourself on him; you’ll just get hurt too much. Don’t force yourself to pick the unripe fruit on its brunch because that’s tasteless. It’s good to love, but it’s better when there’s a response, especially if you don’t ask for it by force but give it voluntarily.”
“Wow, you’re great in giving advice. Have you ever had a love life already?”
“Well, there’s no lucky guy who’s scammed my beauty yet,” we laughed together. And it make me relief.

It was past midnight, and the guests went home little by little. I was sleepy. My brother was already asleep in his room; he was knocked out, so his friends Arcie and Gab helped him get into his room before going home.
I’ll go upstairs to sleep; I’m tired and sleepy. It’s up to the helpers to remove the clutter.

Someone yawned my name while I entering the house.
“Ma’am Meisha, just a moment,” Manang Conching panted after me.
“Take it easy, Manang, what is that?”
“Ma’am, does this phone belong to Sir Migs’s?” refers to the cellphone in his hand.
“Yes, my brother owns this; he is really reprimanded for being so drunk; that’s why he left his cellphone behind. Thank you very much, Manang; you can rest later. I will hide it; I will give it to him. Don’t tell my brother. Let him feel nervous,” I said, yawning constantly.
“Alright, ma’am, we’ll just finish cleaning up.”
I entered my room when I thought of something. I took my phone from my wristlet. Let me bother cats first.
I dialed Dwayne’s cellphone number. I have called several times, but no one has answered yet. I was about to hang up my call when someone answered.
“Hello.”
“Hello? Why do you have Dwayne’s phone?”
