Carmen Rodriguez and the girls spent the next few hours planning the funeral arrangements with the staff members. They decided on a small private ceremony for family and close friends, followed by a reception at the mansion. It was the girl's idea to make it a small one but their Uncle Max was not okay with the decision at all. He felt that a small burial would not befit his brother’s personality. The girls did not want to argue over a such minor issue, so they just had to go with what their uncle said.

As the day of the funeral approached, Diamond and Ruby felt a sense of numbness wash over them. They had never experienced anything like this before and the reality of their father's death was beginning to sink in.

The day of the funeral arrived and the girls put on their black dresses, preparing to say their final goodbyes to their father. They made their way downstairs where they were greeted by their uncle Max, Carmen Rodriguez, and the staff members.

As they all made their way outside of the mansion, they began to hear blasts of a gun from afar, Ruby and Diamond immediately protected their heads.

“Get down everyone” Max Martinez exclaimed. “It must be my brother's enemies, they have no idea that my brother's enemies are my enemies now”. He continued and then began to give the staff members some complicated-looking signs.

Anthonio was a well-known politician in La Esperanza who had other underground dirty businesses that fetched him the majority of the money he had. So therefore he was bound to have a bunch of enemies.

The situation was soon under control and the family immediately zoomed off to the church to perform the burial rights of Don Antonio Martinez.

The news of the attack had spread like wildfire throughout the small town. People began to point fingers at whoever they suspected to be behind the attack. The attack was just a little threat from the enemy, they were going to attack big again soon.

**The Burial **

The burial of Senior Mafia Anthonio Martinez was a somber affair, with his family, friends, and associates all gathered to pay their final respects. The funeral took place on a crisp autumn day, with the sun shining down on the small town where Anthonio had lived and worked for so many years.

As the mourners filed into the church, they were met with a solemn atmosphere. The pews were packed with people, many of whom had come from far and wide to pay their respects to the late mafia boss. The air was thick with the scent of burning incense, and the sound of soft, mournful music filled the space.

Anthonio's family sat in the front row of the church, dressed in black and looking solemn. Carmen Rodriguez stood by Diamond consoling her as she was crying uncontrollably. Ruby on the other hand clutched a handkerchief in her hand, tears streaming down her face, she had tried to put herself together but she couldn't just hold back her pain.

As the service began, the priest offered words of comfort and solace to the family and friends gathered there. He spoke about Anthonio's life, his achievements, and his legacy. He praised his dedication to his family, his community, and his work, and spoke of the deep love and respect that he had earned over the years.

The mourners listened intently, their heads bowed in prayer and reflection. Many of them had known Anthonio for years and had worked alongside him in his role as the leader of the local mafia. They had seen firsthand the power and influence that he had wielded, and the respect and fear that he had commanded.

As the service continued, the mood grew increasingly solemn. The priest spoke of death and the afterlife and reminded the mourners that Anthonio's legacy would live on through his family and his work.

After the service, the mourners gathered outside the church, waiting for Anthonio's casket to be carried to the burial site. As they stood in silence, they could hear the distant sound of police sirens, a reminder of the dangers and risks that Anthonio had faced during his life as a mafia boss.

Finally, the casket emerged from the church, carried by six pallbearers. Anthonio's family followed close behind, their faces etched with grief and sadness.

As the procession made its way through the town, the streets were lined with onlookers. Many of them had known Anthonio for years and had respected and admired him for his work in the community. They watched in silence as the casket was carried past them, a symbol of the end of an era and the passing of a legend.

The funeral procession made its way to the cemetery where their father was to be laid to rest. Diamond and Ruby stood together, tears streaming down their faces.

As the casket was lowered into the ground, a sense of finality and sadness settled over the crowd. Anthonio had been a powerful and influential figure in their lives, and his passing marked the end of an era.

But even in death, Anthonio's legacy lived on. His family, his friends, and his associates all knew that his memory would never be forgotten and that his work would continue through the people and organizations that he had built during his life.

The mourners dispersed and made their way back to their homes and their lives carrying the memory of Anthonio Martinez.

After the burial, the family and close friends gathered at the mansion for the reception. The mood was somber but there was a sense of unity amongst those who had come to pay their respects.

As the night wore on, Diamond and Ruby retired to their rooms, exhausted from the emotional day. As they lay in their beds, they couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness knowing that their father was no longer with them.

But in the midst of the grief, they also felt a sense of hope knowing that they had each other and their uncle Max to lean on. They drifted off to sleep, holding onto that hope for a better tomorrow.
