Ch. 4Part 4

Rindi's life as a student and part-time translator made her busier. Slowly, she adapted to the situation and atmosphere in South Korea. Rindi was no longer awkward or hesitant in fulfilling her duties as a Muslim in Korea. Her friend Nana also knew about Rindi's differences and accepted her.

Her busy schedule didn't make Rindi socially closed off. Thanks to Jay, she often met new people. The man, four years her senior, frequently invited Rindi to essential events. Jay felt comfortable walking with Rindi. Jay, who had retired from being an idol, could now freely be close to any woman. Moreover, Jay had moved on from Haejin after getting to know the unique Rindi.

"I have a class this afternoon; I'll come to your workplace tomorrow," Rindi typed a short message to Jay, then stored her phone in her bag. She left her dorm, carrying a stack of books that had to be returned to the campus library today.

The not-so-far distance from the dorm to the campus didn't make Rindi linger on the way. She was now walking towards the library. The stack of books made Rindi grumble a bit; she should have returned these books actively. Now, she was struggling because of the many books she carried.

"If you had seen me in front earlier, you wouldn't have had trouble carrying these books," someone suddenly said, taking over half of Rindi's books. Rindi reflexively turned her head towards the voice, and her smile appeared.

"Vic? What are you doing here? Don't you have classes to teach today?" Rindi said, feeling relieved as her load lightened.

"I have a class this afternoon, not long, just for 2 hours. How about we go to Fano Hyung's studio after that? He's been stressed lately, and it seems we can take him out for a bit," Victor suggested.

Rindi, who was initially smiling, changed her expression to slight disappointment.

"My classes start this afternoon and last until the evening, and I have some unfinished work. How about I drop by Stefano's studio tomorrow? I happen to be going to Jay's office to help his secretary translate some documents," Rindi replied.

Victor pursed his lips while nodding understandingly. They headed to the library together while chatting. Victor, who had retired and coincidentally became a lecturer at Rindi's university, taught vocal arts, matching his skills as the main vocalist in his former group.

"I heard you've been stressed lately. What's going on?" Rindi typed a short message to Stefano, but a moment later, she deleted it. Rindi seemed hesitant to send the message to Stefano.

"How are you, Fano_ssi?" Rindi typed another message to Stefano, but once again, she erased it. Rindi sighed heavily; she couldn't send that message to Stefano. She wasn't too close to Stefano, so she was afraid it would make Stefano uncomfortable if she sent a letter trying to act familiar.

In Stefano's quiet studio, he was wearing his headset. His hands didn't stop pressing the piano keys in front of him. After a while, Fano aggressively pushed the piano keys in frustration. Stefano felt frustrated because, for several days, he couldn't focus on making music. Stefano ruffled his hair irritably, removed his headset and threw it away carelessly. Stefano took a glass of cold beer and gulped it down.

Stefano was too focused on his songs, while Fano's parents kept pushing him to get married. It wasn't strange; too many rumours spread that Stefano was a playboy. Throughout his entertainment career and until now, Fano had never been caught having a girlfriend. Famous infotainment shows all over Korea were reluctant to cover Stefano Chan's love life because there was no story.

This time, Stefano's parents were not willing to wait any longer. A few days ago, Stefano was deliberately brought home and introduced to a girl he didn't want to look at. Stefano escaped in the middle of the matchmaking and chose to hide in the studio. Stefano's friends came individually to accompany him, but Fano still felt pressured by his parents' terror.

"Eat this; Hyung likes grilled meat," Victor said, placing a piece of meat in Stefano's bowl.

Fano nodded in response to Victor. Without hesitation, he put the piece of meat into his mouth.

Stefano was a meat lover; he always thought that adding stamina and relieving fatigue was just right with eating meat. Stefano also liked halal food, just like Rindi. Although he didn't specifically prefer certain foods, every time he toured before, Stefano and his friends always chose halal-labeled restaurants wherever they were.

"Hyung, why do you have to live in the studio?" Victor asked, not understanding why Stefano had to leave his home.

Stefano looked at Victor for a moment and then went back to eating. Stefano sighed quietly; he stirred his food again.

"If you can't tell, it's okay, hyung. I know you probably aren't ready to talk now," Victor continued, inserting a piece of fried chicken into his mouth.

Stefano chuckled softly, seeing Victor, the man in front of Fano, always funny when eating. Victor also always became Fano's entertainer.

"Eat a lot; you must have spent a lot of energy teaching at the university," Stefano said, pushing all the food towards Victor. Victor nodded in agreement, busy chewing his food.

Stefano was scrolling through his phone slowly; he rarely used social media. But today, he wanted to check his social media; he read posts from people he didn't know. Then Stefano stopped at Jay's bar, which was a photo of the gate in front of Rindi's dorm.

Stefano frowned in confusion; why did Jay have to be in front of Rindi's house? If the media found out, it would indeed cause a sensation.

"I haven't met that girl for a long time," Stefano murmured, clicking on the name Jay had tagged.

Fano was convinced that it was Rindi's social media. His hunch was correct; it was indeed Rindi's social media. Seeing Rindi's cute profile picture with her bobbed hair, Stefano smiled.

"She's cute, too," Fano whispered.

Stefano's fingers didn't stop moving; naturally, he wanted to know more about Rindi. Stefano stopped at Rindi's post, which made him frown.

"My song? She likes this song and must have known me from the beginning. But why is she so indifferent, not like other fans?" Stefano asked himself.

From the beginning, Stefano was puzzled. Wherever Rindi came from, she must recognise the other members; Stefano's group was not unknown. Their group had reached overseas; it would only make sense if Rindi remembered them all. But why was Rindi so plain, seeming unenthusiastic when they first met?
