Ch. 9Part 9

Race and several kingdom knights fought against strange creatures that suddenly attacked the base camp. Even Winter joined in the fight against these creatures. After hours of resistance, the animals were defeated and disappeared independently. The situation at the base camp was utterly chaotic. The ground was full of holes, and scattered rubies and talismans were everywhere. Race sighed heavily and then groaned in frustration as he looked at the condition of the base camp.

"How could creatures like that appear? Who sent them to plunder here?" Race wondered to himself.

"Race!" Winter's call made Race turn and look towards Winter, who was now running towards him.

"Race, are you okay?" Winter asked, observing his cousin from head to toe.

"I'm fine, Winter. And you?" Race asked, also observing Winter from head to toe.

"I'm okay. I didn't fight many of them. You almost killed all the creatures by yourself," Winter said.

Race smiled faintly and then breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm glad you're okay, but do you know how those creatures managed to plunder this place?"

"I don't know either. I only just found out that our base camp has a lot of rubies and talismans."

"I'm in the same boat as you. I only just found out that there are so many valuable items here." Race looked around the training area of the royal guards.

"We need to find out who sent them here," Race continued.

"Well... you investigate this, Race!" Winter commanded.

In the Ivy Pavilion, it was quiet. Ever since the incident where Ivy slapped Miranda, Race's beloved servant was nowhere to be seen. Perhaps Race had moved Miranda to prevent Ivy from hitting her again. Meanwhile, Gareta and Selina had gone out to buy groceries that had run out.

Ivy walked down the pavilion stairs slowly. Ivy glanced around the pavilion.

"I feel increasingly lonely here. I could die alone without anyone knowing," Ivy muttered as she walked towards her favorite garden.

Ivy looked at the wilting flowers in the garden, signaling the arrival of autumn. She stopped in front of an orchid that Winter had said was poisonous. Ivy stared at the flower intently and took a deep breath.

"If you're poisonous, why are you planted here? How did the servants manage to plant you here?" Ivy wondered to herself.

Ivy took a deep breath and then leaned forward slightly to get a closer look at the orchid. Suddenly, a fleeting strange occurrence flashed before Ivy's eyes. It startled her, and she instinctively straightened her posture.

"Was that a spontaneous prophecy? Who was that?" she muttered to herself.

Ivy then stood upright and closed her eyes. She began to concentrate and could see that there would be a significant event at Race's base camp. Many guards would fall, and even Race himself would be injured due to the actions of creatures from the forest who wanted to take over Race's base camp. Ivy was shocked and opened her eyes wide.

"Race," she whispered, filled with concern.

Without thinking twice, Ivy ran. She left the pavilion and headed towards Race's base camp, running. Ivy was known for being foolish and reckless.

Lady Liana walked towards her room, a middle-aged woman with a satisfied smile after hearing the report from her subordinates. Lady Liana intentionally sent spies from her family to become guards in the Eastern Kingdom. After sacrificing Ivy as a substitute for her daughter Cheris, Lady Liana wanted to hear news about Ivy while the girl was in the East.

Upon hearing that Ivy had been secluded in a pavilion near the forest, Lady Liana felt happy and showed no remorse towards Ivy. Lady Liana then sat on a chair near her bed, opened a drawer on her desk, and took out some old-looking papers. She unfolded the papers and reread them.

"The fortune-teller girl will die in the training field of the guards."

Lady Liana burst into laughter upon reading the words.

"This way, my daughter's life will be saved," Lady Liana said amidst her loud laughter.

Running like a possessed person, Ivy finally arrived at Race's base camp. She scanned her surroundings and then ran along the corridors of the center.

"Race!" Ivy shouted.

Some guards who had just encountered Ivy tried to restrain her as she attempted to run towards the field where she could see her husband's back in the distance.

"Young lady, who are you? You can't just enter here without permission," the guard prevented her.

Ivy looked at the guard and roughly pushed his hand away. "Let me go! I'm Ivy Marionet, Race Agnito's wife. Let me through, I have something important to tell my husband," Ivy said.

"What? Tuan Race's wife? Don't joke around, young lady!" the guard retorted, not believing her.

Ivy stared at the guard and sighed in frustration. "I'm not joking! Everyone here will be in big trouble if I don't meet Race immediately. Let me go there, will you?"

Ivy tried to convince the guard to believe her, but the guard laughed heartily, not trusting Ivy's words. Seeing this, Ivy felt annoyed. She didn't have much time. She couldn't afford to deal with this annoying guard. Ivy sighed in frustration and quickly ran away from the guard, still laughing due to Ivy's added magic.

Ivy ran towards where Race was standing.

"Race!" Ivy called out.

Race looked toward the source of Ivy's voice, his forehead creasing in confusion at Ivy's arrival. Standing not far from Race, Winter could also hear Ivy's voice.

"Ivy? What brings her here?" Winter said, strolling towards Race.

Once in front of Race, without asking for permission or waiting for a signal, Ivy grabbed Race's hand.

"Quickly, have all the guards evacuate from here, Race! Strange creatures will attack this area soon. They want to plunder the ruby and talisman stones here," Ivy said, gasping for breath due to exhaustion from running.

Race furrowed his brow in confusion. What Ivy said had already happened. So why was Ivy telling him now?

"That has already happened, Ivy. Can't you see all the chaos here?" Race replied coldly.

Ivy looked around the field and quickly shook her head, not agreeing with Race's statement.

"No! That's not what I saw earlier. The events could happen again today, tomorrow, or even the day after. I beg you to save all the guards first, including yourself. Otherwise, the kingdom will lose many guards, and you will get injured, Race," Ivy insisted, still panicking.

Race sighed and abruptly released Ivy's hand.

"Don't talk nonsense! Everything has already happened. You and your imagination are wrong!" Race said, not believing Ivy's words.

"Imagination? What? How did you even get here, Iv? And how do you know about the creatures attacking this place for the ruby and talisman stones?"

Winter's sudden question made Race look towards Winter with widened eyes.

"I couldn't possibly say that Ivy can predict the future," panicked thoughts raced through Race's mind.

"Winter, I..."

Before Ivy could continue her sentence, a loud explosion could be heard in the middle of the training field. Everyone turned their attention to the source of the sound, including Ivy, whose eyes widened in disbelief. Ivy quickly grabbed Race and Winter's hands, pulling them back.

"Quick, make all the guards here evacuate! Including both of you!" Ivy said, now standing in front of Race and Winter.

"Ivy!"

Race and Winter simultaneously called Ivy's name as she bravely ran toward the center of the field.

"Quick, evacuate the guards so that they and both of you stay safe!"

Ivy shouted as she ran towards the increasing number of creatures in the field, reciting a mantra in her heart.
