Ch. 72Part 72

Race rushes into Ivy's room, just having dreamt that Ivy threw herself out of her window. After forcefully opening the door, Race grabs Ivy, standing near the window.

"Are you crazy? Didn't I say if you want to die, don't do it in my pavilion!" Race scolds, full of anger.

Ivy widens her eyes in surprise at Race's words, blinking several times. Race audibly sighs in frustration and then drags Ivy towards the bed. He sits her somewhat roughly, almost causing her to fall backward.

"Are you crazy?" Race asks loudly.

"Me?" Ivy retorts.

"Yes, who else? If you're not crazy, why are you thinking of jumping out of the window?" Race says, clearly upset with Ivy's actions.

"Jump? How could he know that I was thinking that?" Ivy wonders while looking at Race in disbelief.

"Answer! Why stay silent? You lack nothing here. I'll take care of you—financially, your meals, clothes, and all your needs. So, be silent! Sit quietly, enjoy your luxurious life here without having thoughts of dying. Understand?" Race says again, his tone getting higher and once again surprising Ivy.

Race is furious after seeing his dream. Ivy, on the other hand, is staring at Race closely. After a while, Ivy smiles sweetly and continues to gaze at Race. Seeing Ivy's smile, Race furrows his brows in confusion.

"Are you really crazy? What makes you smile like that? I'm angry at you, Ivy!" Race says, unable to comprehend Ivy's behavior.

"Nothing makes me smile other than your scolding, Race," Ivy says while looking at Race intently.

"Tch! You really have gone mad! Hurry up and take a shower! You need dinner to stay sane," Race says, becoming even more frustrated with Ivy. He then walks out, leaving Ivy in her room. Ivy, still smiling, looks out of the window.

"You've turned back time too far, Tesla!" Ivy says in a monologue.
***
Ivy asked Tesla for help to turn back time. Ivy didn't want Race to be punished because of her. After time was rewound like this, Ivy wanted to change everything so that Race wouldn't have to bear what he had been going through. Ivy was willing to sacrifice herself as long as Race didn't have to die because of it. It would be easier for Ivy to leave Race's life if her husband no longer liked her as he used to.

Ivy was chopping her potatoes during dinner with Race while Race watched her. Race then held Ivy's hand and made her look at him.
"Bring it here!" said Race, then took Ivy's plate.

"Just cutting like this, you're not skilled. Is your strength really this weak, Iv?" Race asked, then helped Ivy cut the meat and potatoes on Ivy's plate.

Ivy didn't respond and instead stared at Race intently.
"Why is he being so kind?" Ivy thought in disbelief.

After finishing, Race returned Ivy's plate in front of his wife.
"Eat! After this, rest! I have to go back to my pavilion," Race said firmly.

"Okay," Ivy agreed shortly, then began to eat her food.

Race also enjoyed his meal. Race fed a piece of meat into his mouth and glanced at Ivy. Race smiled slightly, seeing Ivy eating so eagerly.

After dinner with Race, Ivy indeed returned to her room. However, instead of immediately resting, Ivy sat cross-legged on the bed and closed her eyes slowly. She wanted to try to contact Tesla telepathically, but it turned out to be unsuccessful.

Ivy opened her eyes slowly again. Ivy then looked at her own hands.
"My powers have truly disappeared," she murmured and smiled wistfully.

"Never mind, this way it will be even easier for me to let go of Race because he will consider me useless," Ivy said again.

Many things that had happened before were happening again due to Ivy and Tesla's magic. They successfully turned back time and made everything as it was before Race and Ivy fell in love. Like today, Ivy tended to the garden with Gareta because of the reversed time. Gareta and Ivy weren't as close as before, but Gareta paid close attention to Ivy and didn't want her to get dirty or even slightly injured.

"We're done, Gareta. Let's go inside," Ivy invited.

"Young Lady Ivy, wait!" Gareta requested, holding Ivy's hand.

Ivy stopped her steps and looked back at Gareta.
"What is it?" Ivy asked.

"The black orchid is almost dying," Gareta pointed to the flower.

Ivy looked in the direction Gareta indicated. Seeing it, Ivy was surprised and reflexively approached the flower.
"How could it be dying?"
In her innocence, Ivy wanted to touch the poisonous black orchid.

"Ivy!" Race shouted, then quickly pulled Ivy's hand.

Once again, Ivy was surprised by Race raising his voice.
"You're so careless. That flower is poisonous. Do you want to die from its toxin?" Race scolded.

"Ah, yes, I forgot," Ivy whispered.

"Forget? If you touch it and something happens, what then? Do you want me to die too because you died?" Race asked with a high tone, unable to contain his emotions.

Ivy was shocked by Race's words. She stared at her husband with a puzzled expression.
"Race, why are you talking like that? Am I really that important to you?" Ivy asked in disbelief.

Race didn't answer immediately and grunted in annoyance at Ivy's question. A moment later, Race looked towards Gareta.
"Next time, I don't want you to be this careless, Gareta! Quickly go inside! Prepare water for Ivy to bathe!" Race ordered.

Feeling guilty, Gareta nodded his head slowly.
"Sorry, Master Race. I'll excuse myself inside first," Gareta said.

After Gareta left, Race looked at Ivy again.
"Get in!" Race ordered tersely.

Race pulled Ivy's hand to enter the pavilion, but Ivy held her ground to follow Race. Sensing his wife not moving, Race looked at Ivy again.

"Don't want to come in?" Race asked irritably.

"Explain first the meaning of your words earlier. Why would you die if I die? Didn't you actually not want to marry me?" Ivy asked firmly.

Race didn't answer immediately; the handsome man stared intently at Ivy.
"Why is she just silent? Is this time-altering magic not working well? What's happening?" Ivy thought, confused herself.

"Race, answer me! Why are you just silent?" Ivy urged, then began to move Race's hands.

Race sighed at Ivy's behavior. Unexpectedly, Race quickly kissed Ivy's lips instead of answering Ivy's question. They then engaged in a kiss that couldn't be avoided. Ivy's body tensed in surprise while Race gently savored Ivy's lips.

After a few minutes of kissing, Race released the kiss and looked deeply into Ivy's eyes.
"Do I need a reason to love my own wife?" Race asked.

"What?"
Ivy was becoming even more confused by Race's recent question.
