Ch. 3Chapter One

Going to...

Ring! Ring! Ring!

Her alarm went off and she stretched her had towards her bedside table to feel for the clock so she could stop the ringing noise.

When she finally laid her hand on it, she searched for the button to stop the ringing when she couldn't, she let a frustrating breath of air then removed the blankets she used to cover her face so she could shut the alarm up.

She looked at the time and it says 7:15 am.

'Great! My day hasn't started and it's is quite noisy' she thought to herself and melted on her bed using the blanket to cover her face so she could get back to sleep and ignore the fact that her alarm went off.

Just as she was a minute into heading to dreamland, a rapid knock came from her door and to her eardrums.

"Ugh! Now a knock. Oh GOD can this day get any better?" she asked with a frown them took the blanket off her body and sat up on her bed.

"Honey, I hope you are up. You need to leave in a few minutes because I wouldn't be taking you to school today. You're leaving with dad" came in her mum voice from outside.

"Dad leaves really early, I better get up so I wouldn't have to take a cab to school." she muttered to herself.

"Okay mum" she said a bit louder so her mum could know she was awake and heard her.

"I hate noise and disturbance" she muttered again before standing up from the bed to go freshen and start her day.

Fifteen minutes later

She came out of her room wearing her white short arm shirt, tucked in dark blue and a hint of red checkered skirt school uniform with her feet wearing a pair of socks and black shoes.

Her hair was packed in a neat ponytail and she slung one strap of her neat black bag pack over one of her shoulders.

When she was downstairs, and saw her mum in the kitchen trying to shuffle things around for her to eat to school.

Hopefully she doesn't get burnt toast... Again. She thought before walking closer and hugging her mum from behind.

"Baby, you came down in time... I made some soup I saw on YouTube yesterday" she said and Bianca stilled as she was about taking a seat on one of the kitchen stools.

'Oh no! Not another one of her failed experiment' she exclaimed within then took her seat.

"Why did you have to stress yourself mum? You could have ordered something instead of going all the way" she tried to say calmly to her mum.

Her mum is quite sensitive to comments about her cooking skills she didn't have in the first place. So she's trying not to sound harsh so he mum doesn't feel bad or flare up.

Her mum being angry is a disaster.

"No, you know I have said that I wanted to improve on my cooking skills for a while now and when I saw this easy to cook soup I thought that maybe this could be a starting for me" he mum said with pride and a huge smile on her face.

'For a while you mean since you met dad's she wanted to say but that would spoil her mum's mood and she wasn't ready to get an after lecture from her dad when she gets back from school about thinking of her words before uttering them out.

Her dad will be the victim of her mum's outburst that's why so to avoid such, she thought of other ways to tell her mum to drop cooking and leave it to does that can't create poison out of every food they make.

'Still harsh but I'll try' she tells herself.

Standing up from the stool, she walked up to her mum and took the spoon from her hold then walked her to where she sat seconds ago and made her mum to sit there.

"I understand that you might feel pressured to make delicacies for your family but you need to come to terms with the fact that cooking isn't for everyone, especially for you... There are so many other amazing things you could do that doesn't require your presence in the kitchen" she tells her gently and her mum pouts.

"You know, I was thinking that if I ws getting better, I could open my own restaurant"

"And become the next 'Food Adolf Hitler'? Hell no, you are staying out of anything cooking, okay?" she knew her mum wanted to say something because of her comment but she beats her to it. "I and dad love and appreciate your thoughts but please stay away from the cooking" she tells her mum and went to throw away the soup to start a simple breakfast.

"I'll just make some omelette so it's easy and light on our stomach" she said and got into making them.

Just as she was halfway into finishing it up she heard her dad call her from behind telling her that she is late for work.

Frowning at that she turned to him and saw that it was Daniel her assistant standing some inches away from her with a file on his hand as he snapped his finger in front of her.

"It's time for your meeting ma'am" he said and she jerked up from laying her head on her desk then looked around her dark themed office in confusion before her gaze settled on the tall lean man standing beside her with a file on his hand.

"Ma'am, your meeting with Mr. Denise is starting in five minutes and we need to be there before it begins" he tells her and she frowned then closed her eyes and buried her face in her palm as she rubs her eyes.

"Oh no, ma'am, you'll mess up your makeup and you'll need time to touch them up" he tried taking her hands away from her eyes and gained a glare from her.

"Why didn't you tell me thirty minutes before?" she stood up and stretched them made her way to the bathroom with him following behind.

"I have been trying to wake you up for the past forty minutes but to no avail" he explains and she hissed when she looked at her reflection in the mirror.

"I look like a mess, why didn't you stop me from rubbing my eyes? Now I have to touch up or just wash them off" she complained then turned the faucet open so that the water could run.

"I tried about a minute ago" he said dryly.

"Well, you didn't try harder. Now get me my makeup bag " she instructed.

"You told me not to bring them today because you felt blue" he answered and she raised her head from washing her face to look at him with wide eyes.

'Here we go' he thought and waited for it.

"What! How... How could you have forgotten it? Even if I told you not to, you would have brought it now look at me, I look like a beat up ghost" she pointed to her face then went back to washing her face.

"Now, I have to use the hand wash to WASH MY FACE!" she screamed the last part.

Daniel couldn't say anything aside from watching her and trying not to roll his eyes. The last time that happened she was at the verge of firing him but he knew she couldn't and was just bluffing so instead she sent him unnecessary errands as punishment.

'Confused girl' he shook his head.

When she was done, she took the towel to dry her face from any water then turned to him.

Rolling her eyes, she threw the towel to him and tried walking past him but he stopped her then put his finger under her chin so that she was looking at him.

'He's going to kill me' she thought as they look into each other's eyes.

He brought his hand up to her now bare face then put her hair behind her ear and used the towel to lightly tap her cheek, ear, nose and forehead.

"You missed some spots" he said and took a step away from her, entered the bathroom and spread the towel on the rack then walked over to her table to pick up the files they'll need for the meeting.

All those while she was in that daze he put her in and when he was as the door, he snapped her out of it.

"Let's go ma'am" he opened the door for her to exit the office and she shook her head then made her way to the door.

'He's going to kill me' she said to herself again.
