“I know a good place to eat,” Gabe told Chiara while they were walking out of the campus. When her class ended, she saw that Gabe was waiting for her outside the architecture building. Then he invited her for lunch.

Eighties was the name restaurant where Gabe brought her. It was near their campus. The whole theme of the place was eighties pop culture. There were different old posters of 80’s celebrities on the walls.

“I always eat here during lunch break,” Gabe told her, smiling. “You still haven't tried eating here?”

Chiara shook her head. She always eats in the cafeteria during lunch breaks. She seldom eats out outside.

“You should try their sisig. It’s their specialty,” Gabe said with a proud face.

“Gabe! Whos that girl with you, huh?”

Both she and Gabe turned their heads toward a group of students who walked passed them. Just like Gabe, they were all wearing white uniforms.

“Oh, so that was the reason you didn't eat with us today, huh?” the tall guy said with an apparent teasing grin on his face.

“Come on, Gabe. You should introduce her to us,” the man with a dimple said to Gabe.

Gabe cleared her throat then he turned to her and smiled. “Chiara, these bunch of guys are my classmates. Theo, Nate, and Jane.”

Chiara gave them a small smile. “Hello,” she said.

“Miss, our friend Gabe is a really nice person,” Jane said to her with a smile on her face. “We can guarantee that he’s not going to hurt you.”

“I agree, Miss. Our friend here is a real gentleman,” said Theo while Nate nodded at her.

“Stop it, you guys!” Gabe told his friends, chuckling at everything they said. “Chiara and I were just friends.”

“Oh! Friends really? We don't believe you, Gabe?" his friends muttered.

"Oh, maybe it was because Chiara just put our friend Gabriel in the friend zone," Theo said, obviously teasing Gabe.

"Just leave, all of you," Gabe said, chuckling at their jokes. “Leave Chiara and me alone since you're already done eating."

"Come on, guys. Let's leave now. We don't want Gabe to get mad at us," Jane told the two guys beside her before pulling out towards the door.

“Sorry about them,” Gabe told her after his friends left.

Chiara just smiled at him.

“It's fine, Gabe. I know they mean no harm. Wait. How did you know that I have class today?" she asked him.

“I just tried my luck,” Gabe said, pulling out his phone from his pocket. “You might want to give me your number though. So next time I'd no longer have to guess if you have a class or not." He smiled as he handed his phone to her.

Chiara accepted it before she put in her number. After Gabe saved her number, he dialed it.

“Aw…” Gabe said, pursing his lips. “I forgot my phone doesn't have a load."

“Really?” she asked in disbelief.

Gabe smiled sheepishly and shrugged at her. "Well, I don't really text a lot. I’d rather spend my money on food.”

He then looked at her. "Why do you seem shocked that my phone doesn't have a load?"

Chiara pursed her lips. “Well, I know you're rich. It's so unusual for someone like you."

“Rich kid? I'm not, Chiara. It's my parents who are rich." He said, putting his phone in his pocket. “Give me your phone. I’ll save my number.”

Chiara got her phone and handed it to Gabe. She saw how his brows furrowed as he looked at her phone's screen.

“So, this is your ex?” he asked, showing her phone to her. Chiara was welcomed by Toby and her picture. It was the wallpaper on her phone.

The photo was captured when they went to Tagaytay last Christmas.

They both looked happy in the picture. They both looked in love.

Gabe's eyebrows furrowed deeper while staring at the photo. “To be honest, I didn't know what you see in him, Chiara. He’s not even that good-looking.”

“Toby is handsome!” Chiara argued with the guy in front of her.

Gabe raised his eyebrows at her. “That guy fooled you, cheated on you. He hurt you terribly, Chiara, and yet you still choose to defend him right now?"

Chiara stilled. “Well, I loved him… and I still care for him," she admitted with a small voice. She then sighed. “But… I’m moving on from him now.”

“You should change your wallpaper,” Gabe said as he handed her back her cell phone.

“How could you move on from him when every time you look at your phone, you'll see him?"

Chiara looked down at her cell phone. “You’re right,” she muttered in a small voice.

She then changed her phone's wallpaper with a default one.

“You won't ask me to delete Toby's number on my phone?" she asked Gabe when looked at him.

Gabe just pursed her lips at her. “Nah. I'm sure you memorized his number.

Gabe was right. Even if Chiara was asleep, she could manage to recite Toby's number.

“Just don’t call him. Or text him. If you need someone to talk to, you call or message me instead. I'll reply right away."

She slightly raised her eyebrows at her. "I thought you didn't like texting."

“I don't but I'll reply if it's you," he said, smiling at her.

“I have a deal for you,” Gabe suddenly said when their order came. Before Chira could even move, Gabe already put some rice on her plate.

"Uh, what is it, Gabe?" she said as she continued to notice how thoughtful of a person he was.

Gabe pursed his lips. "Starting from now on, you're not allowed to say your ex-boyfriend's name. If I heard you say it, you have to pay me," he explained. "What do you say? Are you okay with it?"

“Wait… how much do I need to pay you?" she asked, biting her lower lip.

“One hundred?” he said, raising his eyebrows.

She pursed her lips. “One hundred? I can only afford twenty pesos."

Gabe shook his head, suppressing a smile. “Higher, Chiara. Twenty pesos is cheap."

“Thirty?” she bargained.

He then sighed. “Fine. Fifty pesos. Deal?”
