Ch. 7Chapter Six

"How did your trip go?" Tomiwa asked as he admires Ife who was eating some ice cream he got for her after she was done unpacking.

They were in her room that was slightly messy with some of her clothes still laying around on her bed, chair and bathroom door knob.

He was at the head of her bed with her legs on his lap as he gives them light massages, she was at the other end of bed, her focus on her ice cream.

"It went well, thank you" she looks up at him with the spoon in her mouth.

Tomiwa's head was neatly shaved, giving him that usual gorimapa look of his. He was smiling widely at her and she took the spoon from her mouth and smiles at him too.

"How have you been here in Nigeria? Not too stressful?" she asked as she goes back to her ice cream.

He sighs which made her take a glance at him then back to her ice cream, he tickled her feet and she snorts while sending him a dirty look.

"Stop that" she warned playfully.

He put her legs on the bed the crawls to her slowly with his brows wriggling and a prominent smirk on his lips. A deep sigh left her lips and she stopped eating from the bowl of ice cream. When he stopped just an inch away from her, he looks into her eyes then down to her lips before settling on her eyes.

"I have been good here, you being here made it better" he said then pecked her nose and went back to where he was sitting, he took her legs again and began softly massaging them with a smile on his face.

Ife felt happy with his response and relaxed that he was giving her legs those massages.

"I used to hate massages but yours are top notch" she comments.

"I know ba? I have my ways of keeping my lady happy and sated" he winked, heat spread across her face and down to her neck so she looked down at her half eaten ice cream as she tried not to think about all the advances he had been making for a while now.

She isn't sure if he is speaking of that or just messing with her because she has told him she wasn't ready for that any moment from now and they will be a year together so he might want to be hinting that they did so.

"What are your expectations for our upcoming anniversary? I have in mind what I want to do for you that day but I want to know what's on your mind. What do you want on that day?" he asked and continued massaging her feet and looking at her.

Ife rose her head so that she was looking at him then thought for a while. She has always wanted a customized phone pouch that has the signature of her favorite Nigerian actor but knew it might be impossible so she just shrugged that thought away and smiled at him.

"I told you already, whatever you give me, I'll take it because it's from you and I appreciate all that you do for me because it's you" she said and he laughs then gestured for her to come to him which she did and they cuddled.

"I love you so much Ife, you make my life easy and I am sorry for what I put you through when we started dating till now, I really am" he said softly in her ear.

Her heart swell with so much joy when she heard those words coming from him again. Tomiwa apologizing to her over and over again and meaning it is a lot to her. Number of times she had tried to tell him to at least try for them and now, he is telling her that he wants to improve for them and he isn't just saying it, he is manifesting it so it was more than enough for her.

"I love you too Tomiwa, and I look forward to more fulfilled years with you" she lifts her head so that she was looking at him "I forgive you for all that you did to me in the past. They are in the past and we should focus on our future which is us trying to grow and improve on ourselves and our relationship"

She placed her palm on his cheek then grinned "To forever for us"

Tomiwa leaned in and closed his eyes "To forever for us" he confirms and leaned closer till their lips touched and they shared a beautiful kiss.

...

"I am happy you're home already" Patrick's sister, Deborah said to him as she released her hold on his neck and smiled up at him "Did you see mum already?" she asked.

"Yes, I did. She looks good and I hope she will be good soon enough" he replies to her.

Deborah excused herself to fetch both of them some snacks and juice since she was too tired to cook anything after getting back from school.

"How is Ife? You both came together right?" she asked and he nods when she gave him the glass of juice and placed the snack plate on the center table.

"Thank you and yes, we both came together but I made sure that she went home first before I went to see mum" he tells her.

"Okay, she is aware about mum's condition?"

He nods "Yes, she is."

Deborah kept quiet for some time before speaking.

"She'll come to see mum?"

Patrick smiles at her then finishes his juice and placed the glass on the table.

"Probably, but I am sure she would" he completes after seeingĀ  her countenance change when he said 'probably'.

"Okay then, I'll be expecting her soon enough"

"Yeah, you should. So, tell me, how's school? When are your exams? How did the trip you went go?"

"School is just school because omo, it's like the teachers are hell bent on making us die really early" Deborah hissed with a shake of her head.

Patrick laughed "I think it happens in every high school don't worry you'll soon get into the university" he consoles still laughing.

"Like university is any better. The suffering will just continue" she mutters and he laughs. "The trip went well sha and our exams starts next week, I am sha prepared, you know your little sister still get brain for school" she wriggled her brows.

Patrick just shakes his head then looked around the living room, now noticing the little changes that was made while he was away.

"I can see that you've added some little decorations here and there, it's okay sha" he made a partial compliment.

Deborah's face held a sarcastic look as she eyes him then rolls her eyes "Like you can do better"

"I'm a better designer than you" Patrick boasted.

"You that can't even cook" she teased.

"Abeg, abeg, if anything, no near my cooking skills. You sef know say I fit cook pass anybody for this house," he said and she scoffed.

"Abegi, you can't do non"

"Mumci fit cook because I learn from her but she know say I cook pass" he told her and she scoffed again then rolled her eyes and ate the last samosa.

They talked more about their day and he gave her some of the gifts he brought for her and talked about taking her out when later in the weekend and when their mum has been discharged.
