Ch. 9GREY (NINE)

“Let's get back to you, Cash. What if your feelings for him turned into love? You still won't confess to him?"

Cashmere sighed again.

“I honestly don't know, Irani. I'm not as brave as you...” Cashmere paused for a while before she continued. “Maybe I won't. I think I'm already content with this. I can see him every day… I can talk to him freely. We're kind of friends because of my brother. I think that is already enough for me."

“But you won't be happy when you're always playing safe, Cash.”

Irani looked at her with a serious expression on her face. “If you can't take the risk, maybe you should forget about your feelings for Grey.”

“What do you mean, Irani?"

Irani sighed. “Listen, love is all about taking risks, Cashmere. If you can't take the risk yet, you are not ready to fall in love. Then it's better if you kill whatever feelings you have for Grey before it blossoms into love. It's hard to fall in love when you're not ready, Cash. You might end up with a broken heart and I don't want that to happen.”

Irani smiled a little. “Prevention is better than cure... It's not easy to mend a broken heart, Cashmere.”

“OHHH, I'd rather crashed, I'd rather crawl, than never have your love at all. With only bricks to break my fall. For you I'd risk it all...”

Cashmere smiled when that familiar singing voice filled her ears as she reached the university concert grounds.

It was her brother's voice. His band Flying Colors was currently performing on the stage. Ever since their band formed a year ago, they always got invited to different school-related events.

Last month, they performed at the College of Business' alumni party.

Her brother Blue was the frontman of the band. Red was the lead guitarist, Indigo was the bassist… and Grey was the drummer.

The band immediately became so popular in the university, not only because of their good looks but especially because of their talent.

Despite the large crowd, Cashmere tried to get to the front near the stage. Irani wasn't with her right now since she had to attend a meeting with her Drama club members.

“In another world, I know, I know, I know, I know that you would be my girl. And nothing would tear us apart. In another universe, the sun would shine just for the two of us...And nothing would tear us apart...”

Cashmere's eyes focused on her brother. Among the four members of the band, Cashmere couldn't deny that her brother Blue had the most fangirls. Well, it was natural since he's the vocalist.

From her brother, her eyes went to Grey. A smile automatically appeared on her lips as she watched him engrossed in the music.

He was so great at drums he could perfectly play even when his eyes were closed.

Cashmere continued to stare at him. Her eyes followed every little move he was making.

He was biting his lips while playing his instrument. And it was sexy. He was sexy as hell.

You should forget your feelings for him… before it's too late...

Cashmere could understand why Irani said those words to her. If her feelings for Grey deepened, she would surely get hurt.

But for Cashmere, she didn't need to cut whatever feelings she had for Grey right now. All she had to do was to make sure that those feelings won't deepen. She had to be sure that she wouldn't fall in love with him.

I will not fall in love with you, Grey. These feelings of mine will only stay as infatuation. You have nothing to worry about Irani. I promise my feelings for Grey won't turn into love.

“Go, Flying Colors!” Cashmere couldn't help but scream when the song ended.

Her heart automatically pounded when she turned to Grey. He was already looking at her.

“Grey! You're so good!”

Cashmere's head snapped at the girl who shouted beside her. The girl was grinning in delight as her eyes were focused on Grey.

The girl even raised her hand and pointed at Grey while screaming his name.

“Miss, can you not raise your hand like that? There are people watching at the back," she couldn't help but commented.

"Besides, Grey won't notice you, anyway."

Cashmere didn't want to sound rude or anything, but she just didn't like what she did. Besides, her voice was irritating.

The girl turned to her with brows furrowed. "What are you saying? They said Grey is the friendliest among the four."

"Yeah, he is. But he's different when he's performing."

It was true that among the four members of the band, Grey is the nicest and most approachable. But he has a different personality when he's performing. He's too focused on his own instrument that he's turning into a snob on stage.

Cashmere never once saw Grey smile at his fangirls during a performance. He was always focused on his instrument.

“Really? That's interesting,” The girl's lips formed a smirk as her eyes went back to Grey. "Grey, look here, please. Notice me!"

Cashmere's eyes widened when Grey's head snapped at her. No. Grey wasn't looking at her, he was looking at the girl beside Cashmere.

And Cashmere didn't expect the next thing that Grey did. Grey smiled at the girl beside her. He even swayed his drumsticks to greet the girl.

Cashmere's lips parted. She felt like something pinched her heart with the scene she just witnessed. What's with this girl that she was able to catch Grey's elusive attention on stage?

Did Grey know this girl? Maybe they knew each other. Grey smiled at the girl as if he knew her.

Cashmere turned her eyes to the girl beside her and secretly examined her. The girl was tall and very attractive. She has long curly hair and a really pretty face.

Cashmere couldn't help but feel insecure. This girl was obviously prettier than her.

Cashmere shook her head. Maybe this girl was related to Grey. Maybe a sister or a cousin?

But a sister would be impossible. Grey was an only child. And all of Grey's cousins were male. He didn't have any female cousins. So, who is this girl?
