Ch. 81RED (NINETEEN)

“Why are you curious, shortcake?" Red asked her. He picked up a piece of cheese stick and bit it.

She raised her eyebrows at him. "Why? Is it bad to ask you things like these?"

“Hmm, do you really want to know where I always bring my dates, shortcake?" Red asked with a playful smile in his place.

And based on his annoying smirk, Irani already had an idea of what was on his mind.

She then rolled her eyes at him. "Shut up, Red. I'm not interested in knowing," she said, scrunching her nose in annoyance.

“Hey…”

Irani stirred when she felt Red's finger on her face. She didn't expect the small bolt of electricity that traveled through her skin.

Irani felt her heart skip a beat. Damn. Why did she feel that way toward Red?

She didn't even remember feeling that with Drei earlier. What's with Red and her weird reactions toward his touch?

"You have something on your face," Red said, smiling at her as he removed his thumb from her.

Irani cleared her throat. “Thanks, Red," she muttered in a small voice.

Red gave her a gentle smile. "You're welcome, Irani. And thank you for coming with me.” The way he looked at her… she felt like something was touching her heart. His eyes were staring deeply at her and she didn’t like how it affected her.

“Thank you, Irani,” he repeated in a soft voice.

The way he said her name felt like something warm caressed her heart. She didn’t like it.

Irani cleared her throat and reached for her glass of iced tea. She took her time sipping on her drink.
"Well, I came with you since you said it was your treat. And I'm kind of hungry," she said, obviously lying to him since she just had a snack with Drei before she went to the library. But then she really didn't know why she went with him so she just chose to lie.

"Well, then, thank you, Irani," he answered, still in his gentle tone.

Irani looked away. "Stop thanking me and let's just eat, Red."

One hour after arriving at their house, Irani's phone beeped. It was a text message from Red.

Good night, Cassidy. Thank you for today.

Irani found herself smiling after reading his text. She decided to reply to him.

Thanks, Red. Good night.

After sending her reply to him, she decided to open her IG account.

She saw a post that Cash liked on Instagram. It was Red’s IG story. The photo was the picture of a cupcake that they ate earlier. Thank you. You don’t know how much this means to me.

Irani didn't know why her heart skipped a beat after reading Red's caption.

Number 4: A guy likes you IF he likes to know things about you.

“Irani, are you available next week?” Drei asked Irani while they were having snacks at the cafeteria that day.

One week has passed since Drei treated her to a snack in the cafe near the campus. After that day, Drei invited her again to eat with him. They also constantly text each other.

And every time they talked, Irani couldn't help but notice that Drei always asked her about things. Her hobbies, favorite tv show, favorite song…

Based on the note that she saw at the cafe, Drei's actions and gestures were hinting that he likes her. She was already ninety percent sure Drei liked her. She was just waiting for him to admit it.

"Hmm, I think I'm available on the weekend, Drei," she said to him. "Why are you asking?"

Drei smiled. “I wanted to invite you to watch movies with me."

Was he asking her for a real date? “What movie?” she asked, smiling at him.

But then her eyes moved away from Drei when she noticed a group of guys enter the cafeteria. It was Red's band. The Flying Colors. Her eyes couldn’t help but stare at Red. She didn’t see him for days. He was wearing a black shirt, black pants, and red canvas shoes.

“Thor: Ragnarok.”

Irani forced herself to look back at Drei when she heard him speak. “Oh, I was told it was a good movie," she answered.

Before she heard Drei's answer, her eyes went back to Red. He was already at the counter with Indigo. While Blue walked towards their table.

Blue stopped in front of Drei and Irani. She looked at her best friend's brother with a confused expression on her face.

Blue smiled at her before his eyes went to Drei in front of her.

“Irani, I'm sorry to disturb your date but Drei was needed in the gym," he said. "Drei, the coach asked me to look for you. He said he needed to tell you something."

After Blue said that, he nodded at them before he walked towards the counter.

Drei looked at her. “I’m sorry, Cassidy."

She gave him a soft smile. "It's fine, Drei. Let's just talk next time."

After Drei left, someone occupied the seat he left. That someone is none other than Red.

His eyes followed Drei who had just exited the café, before his eyes moved back to hers. He placed a chocolate shake in front of her. "Here, shortcake. This is for you."

She blinked as she looked at the familiar drink in front of her. “How did you know it was my favorite?" she asked him.
His lips curved up in a smile. “I know things about you, Irani.”

She cleared her throat and picked up the drink. "Well, then. Thank you. Wait, why didn't I see you for days?" she couldn't help but ask him. The last time she saw him was when he drove her home after she went to eat with him. "Did you get sick?"

"No. I didn't get sick," Red answered, then he raised his brows at her. “Why are you asking? Did you miss me?”

Her eyes widened at him. “Huh! Excuse me. Why would I miss you?" she answered before rolling her eyes at him.
