Ch. 79RED (SEVENTEEN)

Number 3: A guy is into you IF he treats you differently.

"GO, Drei!" Irani cheered with a loud voice as she watched the game happening in front of her.

She even clapped her hands when the ball he threw went into the ring.

“Go Mendoza! I love you, baby!”

“Drei, you're mine!”

Irani snapped her head to the girls who shouted near her. Drei was slowly becoming popular on campus. He already has a couple of fangirls. Well, it was not surprising since he was really good and also good-looking. He has a big potential to be a star player in the upcoming years.

Well, I still noticed him first. she said to herself.

“GO, Drei!” Irani shouted again, this time louder.

Drei looked in her direction and smiled. She then noticed how the girls who shouted earlier also snapped their heads at her.

Yes, girl. Drei just looked at me.

In the end, their team won. Drei was held as the best player. It was the first time he became one.

Irani excitedly went to the bleachers to get closer to Drei. But even before he could go to him, another girl went to Drei first.

“Congrats, Drei.” the girl said to Drei.

“Thank you,” Drei said, giving the girl a small smile.

Irani waited for the girl to leave before she went to Drei.

"Drei, congrats," she said to him. "You're the best player of the game!”

Drei's smile widened as he faced her. “Thank you, Irani.”

She then noticed how his face reddened. He looked cute when he blushed. “Uhm, are you already going home, Irani?" he asked her.

“Uh, yup,” Irani answered, nodding her head. Her class already ended early that day.

He smiled sheepishly at her. "Well, do you want to eat first before going home?"

Her lips parted with what she just said. Did she hear it right?

He smiled. “Don’t worry, it's my treat.”

Irani blinked, finally recovering from the shock. "Okay," she immediately said.

Drei nodded then smiled. “I'll just take a shower, then we’ll go.”

“Okay, I’ll wait for you,” she said. She then bit her lower lip when Drei left her on the bleachers. He invited her for a snack. That was like asking for a date, right?

She took out her phone from his pocket and composed a message to her best friend.

OMGGG! Drei asked me to eat with him, Cash!

Irani looked up after sending the text. She then stilled when she saw Red a few meters away from her.

He then looked in her direction. Their eyes met. She already braced herself for Red's smirk. But then she didn't expect it when he just looked away from her. He didn't even try to walk toward her, instead, he started strutting toward the locker room.

What's his problem? Irani couldn't help but wonder to herself.

She noticed that Red didn't play well earlier. That was the reason he stayed on the bench for the entire second half of the game. Was he sick?

Why are you concerned? Irani asked herself.

I'm not concerned. I'm just curious...

Instead of thinking of Red, she just tried to focus on her date with Drei. She took out her compact mirror and examined herself. She pursed her lips and applied another lip gloss.

A few minutes passed and Drei already came back. "Let's go," he said when he stopped in front of her. He was wearing a maong pants and a white T-shirt. On his shoulder hangs his gym bag.

The other players also left the locker room. Irani saw Blue. She tried to find Red but she didn't see him again.

“Irani?”

Irani blinked before her eyes went to Drei again. “Uh, let's go," she said, smiling at him.

Before they left the gym, Irani looked once more in the gym.

Why are you looking for him?

Irani shook her head before her eyes snapped back at Drei. He brought her to the coffee shop near the campus.

“Do you frequent this place?” Drei asked her after he looked around the coffee shop.

“Yup, my best friend and I always go here," she told him. "How about you?"

“It’s my first time here,” Drei answered, smiling at her.

“Really?” she asked, surprised.

Irani bit her lower lip to hide her smile. She was giddy to know that he was with her for the first time at this cafe. He ordered milk tea and pasta while Irani chose to order chocolate cake and a milkshake.

"So you like chocolate cake?" Drei asked her after their order came.

"Yup," she answered with a smile. "Their chocolate cake here is good, along with the blueberry cheesecake. I always order this every time Cashmere and I eat here." Irani looked at his pasta. "How about you? You're into pasta?"

"Yeah," Drei answered, smiling at her. "I'm not really fond of sweets."

"But it was obvious you're a sweet person," she couldn't help but say to him. "You know, I know someone who's a fan of sweets and pastries but he doesn't even have any sweet bone on his body," she said, shaking her head.

"Hmm, I wonder who that person is?" Drei asked in a curious tone.

It was Red, she almost answered him, but then she was thankful that she was able to stop herself from talking. She shouldn't be mentioning another guy in front of him.

Irani stopped eating when she saw Blue enter the coffee shop. He was with his bandmates Grey and Indigo. Her brows furrowed when she realized that Red wasn't with them.

"Irani.”

She blinked as her gaze went back to Drei.

“You have chocolate on your lips.” He said, looking at her face.

Irani scrambled for a tissue. But before she could wipe her face, Drei already beat her to it. He reached for her face and gently wiped the syrup on the corner of her lips. "Uh, thank you, Drei," she said, smiling at him.
