Ch. 65RED (THREE)

“Looking for me, shortcake?” An arrogant voice came from behind Irani.

Even if she didn't turn around to face the owner of the voice, she already knew who the guy beside her was. There was only one guy who calls her shortcake. The one and only Red de la Merced.

Irani took a sharp breath before she turned to him. Red annoying face and shit-eating grin welcomed her.
Damn. Irani wanted to erase the annoying grin on the monkey's face.

“Did you come here for me?” Red asked her, he was smirking while his left hand was playing with the basketball.

Irani snickered and gave Red a sharp glare. "Shut up, Indigo. You're a really conceited monkey."

“Red!” A girl with a cheery voice went near Red. The girl was wearing a white tube blouse and a red miniskirt. She smiled at him flirtily and batted her fake eyelashes at him. “Good luck on the game, Red. I’ll be cheering for you.”

Indigo smiled back at the girl. “Thanks, Mindy.”

Irani rolled her eyes when she saw how Red smiled at the girl beside him. The monkey was really such a flirt.

Without saying something, she left them alone and went back to her seat.

“Why didn't you wait for me?” Cashmere asked her when she occupied the seat next to her.

"Well, your cousin was annoying the hell out of me again," she told Cash.

Cashmere chuckled softly. "Nothing new with that, Irani."

Irani couldn't help but glance at Red. She found herself rolling her eyes again in annoyance when she saw that Red was still flirting with Mindy.

“The girl Red was talking to… is she your cousin's new girlfriend?" she found herself asking Cashmere.

Her best friend just shrugged at her. "Hmm, I don't know, Irani."

Irani snickered. "Well, just look at him, Cash. Instead of practicing his shots, he's just wasting his time flirting. If our team lost, I'd bet it's because of him…"

Red suddenly looked in their direction. Irani rolled her eyes at him before looking at him. Her eyes went to the Red's teammates. "I wonder why Andrei isn't here."

“Maybe he's not going to play in today's game?" Cashmere answered.

Irani frowned in disappointment. "What a bum. I was excited to see him."

But a few minutes before the game started, Andrei entered the gym wearing his uniform.

"He came," Irani muttered, a smile forming on her face. "Gosh, he's really gorgeous."

She bit her lower lip as her eyes followed Andrei who settled on the bench.

It was expected that Andrei wasn't included in the first five. The ones included were Blue and Red. And every time Blue and Red scored a point, the crowd cheered for them.

It was not surprising since the two were famous at the university. Aside from being members of the varsity team, they were also part of a band.

They have a band named Flying Colors. The band has four members which include Cashmere's brother Blue, Red, and their other two friends named Grey and Indigo.

The four of them were famous on campus. Aside from their talents, they were also good-looking. Many girls swooned over them. Including her best friend Cash who was head over heels with Grey.

It was already the second half of the game when Andrei entered the game.

Irani stood up from her seat every time the ball was passed to Andrei.

"Go, Drei!" she cheered on her seat when Andrei attempted to shoot from the three-point line.

She couldn't help but jump and shouted when the ball successfully entered the basket.

Cashmere turned to her, chuckling. "That was loud, Irani."

"Sorry, Cash," she guiltily grinned at her best friend before her attention went to the court again.

Her eyes widened when Frei suddenly looked in her direction. Their eyes met. Andrei smiled at her as if he recognized her before his attention went to the game again. "Omg! He looked at me, Cash!" Irani squealed. She even grabbed her best friend on the arm.

She had been watching Andrei's game for a few months now, but this was the first time Andrei paid attention to her. Damn. He even smiled at her.

"Well, you were cheering the loudest today," Cashmere said, grinning at her.

Even after the game ended, Irani's smile didn't wipe off her face. Their team won over ten points from the opponent.

Blue was the best player scoring fifteen points and five assists. Cashmere went down to the court to greet her brother.
Irani looked for Andrei. He was drinking from his bottle of water while one of his teammates was saying something to him.

Irani smiled more as she remembered how Andrei smiled at her earlier. After that, she decided to go to the court and greet him.

She was only a few steps away from Andrei when his teammate left, leaving him alone.
Irani pursed her lips.

Go, Irani. You can do it, she tried to cheer herself as she continued walking towards him.

She stopped a meter away from him. Then she cleared her throat. "Congrats, Drei!"

Andrei looked at her. A smile appeared on his face. "Thank you, Irani." He said in a smooth voice.

Irani's lips parted. "Oh, you remember me," she couldn't help but say.

Andrei nodded and smiled. "Of course. I'm quite good at remembering people."

Irani felt like something tickled her heart. It was the second time she got to be near Andrei. This time, she managed to take him all in. He was really tall. Maybe a foot taller than her. And he was even more handsome up close.

“You played great, Andrei," she said to him. "You managed to score eight points despite entering the game late."

Andrei touched his nape and smiled at her shyly. "Thank you, Irani."

Irani bit her lower lip to stop herself from smiling wide. He looked cute when he's being shy like that.

“Uh, sorry I have to leave you," he said after a while. "I need to go to the locker room and change."

Irani nodded and smiled at him. "Sure, go ahead. I just really went down here to greet you."

Andrei smiled once more before he turned his back and headed to the players' locker room.
