Ch. 59INDIGO (THIRTY TWO)

“When do you plan to tell Indigo, Chas?” Karen asked her while waiting for Indigo.

Indigo and she had a dinner date that night.

"I'm just waiting for the right moment, Karen," she answered her best friend.

"You only have a couple of days to tell her, Chas," Karen reminded her. "You're leaving soon."

Chastity nodded at her friend. After tonight, she would finally tell Indigo everything.

But a few minutes later, Red was the one who fetched her inside instead of Indigo.

"Hi, Chas. Indigo asked me to fetch and drive you to your meeting place tonight." Red smiled at her. "I hope it's fine with you."

While they were on the road, Chastity felt nauseous again. She closed her eyes and leaned against the headboard.

“Chas, are you okay? You looked unwell," Red said, glancing at her with a furrowed look on his face.

“I'm fine.” She shook her head and smiled at him. “Don't mind me, Red."

Red brought her to a restaurant somewhere in Laguna. But instead of going instead, Red walked her to the back of the restaurant where a garden was located.

Her lips parted when she saw the beautiful flowers on the place. In the middle of the beautiful garden stood Indigo. He was holding an acoustic guitar and very handsome in his white long-sleeve polo and dark slacks.

Before she could walk towards him, Indigo started playing his guitar.

“You and I were like fireworks and symphonies exploding in the sky. With you, I’m alive. Like all the missing pieces of my heart, they finally collide...”

“So stop time right here in the moonlight. Cause I don’t ever wanna close my eyes.”

Chastity bit her lower lip when she felt the corner of her eyes heated up with tears.

Then Indigo stopped playing. He put down his guitar and walked towards her.

“I will make up for the harsh thing I've said to you. For the days and nights that I ignored you... Today was supposedly our third anniversary. So, happy anniversary, baby."

Indigo held out his hand to her. “Number four on the list, Chas. Dance under the stars,” he whispered to her.

With tears eyes, Chastity looked up. The sky was full of stars. “You remembered,” she said, looking back at Indigo.

“I've never forgotten, baby,” Indigo whispered before he started to dance her under the thousands of stars above them. "I remember everything about you."

At that moment, Chastity was so happy she couldn't ask for more.

“I love you, Chas,” Indigo whispered lovingly.

Chastity looked at him and smiled. But before she could answer him, she already lost consciousness.

The second time since arriving in Manila, Chastity woke up in a hospital room. But this time, Indigo was with her.

Indigo was sitting on a stool beside her bed. He was holding his hand while his head was leaning on the headrest. His eyes closed. He looked sleeping.

“Chas.”

Chastity turned to the familiar voice. She found Karen on the couch. Her friend immediately went to her.

Chastity glanced at the sleeping Indigo beside her before her eyes went back to her best friend.

“Does he already...know?” she asked in a small voice.

Karen nodded her head. “I’m sorry, Chas.” Karen sighed. "He's been here with you for the whole night, Chas. He never left your side."

Chastity bit her lower lip and looked at him. His face looked tired. And eyes looked swollen with tears.

Indigo stirred, then he slowly opened his eyes. Their eyes met. He immediately went to her.

“Hi, Indigo,” she said. She swallowed the lump in her throat and managed to give him a small smile.

Indigo's hand went to her face. “Baby, how are you feeling?" he asked in a soft tone. His face looked at her with worry.
Chastity shook her head. "I feel good, Indigo."

From the corner of her eyes, she saw her best friend leaving the room.

“I'm sorry, Indigo,” Chastity said the moment they were left alone in her hospital room.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner, Chastity?" Indigo asked her, his beautiful eyes were full of accusations against her.

Chastity bit her lower lip. “I’m sorry, Indigo." She swallowed. "I just… I don't want you to love me again because you find me pitiful. I don't want your pity, okay?"

I gave him a pained smile. “I'm sorry for being selfish. I don't want to die without having you in my arms again, Indigo."

“Don't say that. You are not gonna die.” He planted a kiss on her forehead. Chastity then felt a tear fell on her face. It was Indigo's. “I'm sorry, Chas. I'm sorry I didn’t notice. I’m sorry, baby.”

I looked at him and shook my head. "Please don't, Indigo. I should be the one apologizing. I came to you again knowing I had to leave you sooner. I'm selfish, Indigo."

Indigo planted another kiss on my forehead. "Sshh. Stop saying sorry, baby."

Chastity looked at him with tears in her own eyes. "My parents wanted me to go to the States for my medication, Indigo. But I don't want to leave you…"

Despite the pain in his eyes, Indigo still managed to give her a smile. “You have to go, Chas. I’ll wait for you. What's important is that you'd get better."

“Karen, I thought we were going to the mall, but this way is going to the airport?" Chastity asked her best friend beside her.

Chastity still has a week to spend in the country before her flight to the States.

The past few days, she was already with Indigo. They were making up for the days that they were not together.

"Are we going to fetch someone from the airport?" She asked, with furrowed brows.

Karen didn't answer her. Instead, her best friend only gave her a meaningful smile. When they arrived at the airport, she saw Indigo. Her eyes widened at him.

“Indigo, what are you doing here?” she asked him.
