Ch. 53INDIGO (TWENTY SIX)

The four guys looked all handsome in their outfits for tonight. They were all wearing black shoes, black slacks, and white long-sleeves and neckties that matched their name.

Just like his name, Blue's necktie was colored blue. Grey’s was gray. Red’s was Red.

Her gaze went and focused on Indigo. His white long sleeve was folded up to his elbows. His tie was hanging loosely around his neck. The diamond earring on his left ear was shining in the light.

His jet-black hair was brushed up, giving her a full and better view of his handsome face.

The crowd roared when the band started playing their instruments. Then seconds later, Blue's husky voice reached everyone's ears.

“Check, yes, Juliet, are you with me? Rain is falling down on the sidewalk. I won't go until you come outside…”

Indigo looked in her direction. Their eyes met. But then he immediately tore off his gaze.

Their eyes only met for a second but then it was already enough to make her heart thump crazily in her chest.
Make him feel that he's not the only one. Chastity reminded herself.

“Let’s dance, Chas,” Mark said to her. “It’s the perfect time to piss off your guy.” He grinned at her.

Before Mark pulled her to the dance floor, he turned to Karen first. "I'm gonna dance with Chastity. Stay here and don't try to dance with another guy."

Karen rolled her eyes before nodding in the end.

"Mark, don't you think that we don't look like fools here?" Chastity asked when Mark pulled her to the dancefloor. They were the only ones here in the middle of the hall.

Most of the students were still at their respective tables. Besides, the Flying Colors was playing a pop-rock song but Mark was dancing to her slowly. He even put her hand on his shoulders while he was on her waist.

“It's fine, Chas, as long as we make Indigo jealous,” Mark said to her, a smirk playing on his face.

While Mark and she were dancing, she couldn't help but steal glances at the stage. Indigo’s eyes were closed as he played his instrument. But she could see that his jaw was clenched. “Your guy’s dying with jealousy, Chas,” Mark said, grinning.

Chastity's eyes went back to Indigo. He was now looking at her. She felt like something clenched her heart as she stared at him. His sharp eyes were like shooting daggers at her.

“Five, four...”

Chastity heard Mark whisper while he was looking at his watch. “Three, two, one.”

Suddenly, the lights turned off. The band stopped playing. The entire hall was covered in darkness.

“I'll go back to Karen. Stay still and wait for your man.” Mark said before he let go of her.

Chastity remained standing in the middle. Not a moment later, she felt incoming footsteps.
From the faint light coming from her glow-in-the-dark headband, she saw Indigo in front of her.

“Indigo...” She couldn't believe he was in front of her.

“You said you want me back. But you’re always with that guy,” he said with an accusing tone.

Chastity swallowed as he tried to meet his eyes. “Why, Indigo? Are you jealous?”

Indigo didn't answer, instead, he let out a sigh. “Tomorrow, at seven pm. Wait for me.”

"What?" Chastity whispered. "What do you mean?"

“Let's date,” Indigo said, almost a whisper, but enough to reach her ears. “I’ll give you the chance you want.”

Suddenly, the lights were back. She met Indigo's eyes.

“Don't dance with another guy again,” he said before walking away from her.

A successful smile appeared on Chastity's lips as her eyes followed Indigo's back.

After buying two tickets for the movie The Fantastic Beasts, Chastity settled herself in the coffee shop near the movie house to wait for Indigo.

I'm here at Starbucks. She texted him.

She also took a picture of their tickets and sent them to Indigo.

But Indigo didn't reply. Chastity had already been waiting for more than two hours now. She had already finished her coffee jelly and slice of cheesecake but Indigo still hadn't shown up.

Maybe he got stuck in traffic.

Chastity texted Indigo again but just like earlier, she didn't receive any reply. This time, she tried to call Indigo, but he wasn't answering.

Indigo, where are you?

Chastity sighed and shook her head. Maybe Indigo really planned to ignore her.

No. She refused to believe that part of her brain. Indigo said yes to her. He was true to his words.

But until when are you going to wait?

Until he arrives, her stupid heart answered.

“Ma'am.”

Chastity looked up at the staff in front of her. She looked around and found out she was the only customer remaining there. She glanced at her watch and didn't realize it was already ten in the evening.

Most of the establishments were already closing out now. Chastity looked down at the ticket in her hand. Her hope that Indigo would arrive vanished in thin air.

Chastity then sighed and smiled bitterly. She bit her lower lip to stop her tears from falling.
But she failed. A tear still escaped from her eyes.

She immediately wiped it off her face.

“Chas.”

She stilled when she heard that familiar voice. With her beating heart, she turned to her left. There he was.

Indigo's lips parted when he saw her face. In an instant, he was already in front of her. In an instant, she was already inside his warm arms.

“I'm so sorry, Chas...” Indigo whispered, breathing heavily. Chastity could feel the fast beating of his heart.

Chastity bit her lower lip. He came. He came for her...

Chastity blinked back the tears that were threatening to fall from her eyes. This time, she knew it was tears of happiness.

She missed being this close to him. She missed his warm arms around her.

“It's okay, Indigo,” she answered, her voice close from cracking.

Indigo moved away from her. He then cupped her face and looked at her face. He gave her an apologetic smile.
"I'm sorry, Chas."
