Ch. 20GREY (TWENTY)

Her cheeks flushed as she led Grey to the garden where she usually studies, aside from her room.

“What are the concepts that you're having a hard time with?" Grey asked as he settled himself into the iron-wrought chair beside her. His eyes went down to her notebook on the table.

Grey and Cashmere were only inches apart from each other. Cashmere felt like she was having a hard time breathing beside Grey. His scent was assaulting her senses. Her heart was pounding so hard inside her chest and she was afraid that Grey might hear it.

"Uh, this one…" Cashmere said in a small voice as she pointed at her notebook.

Grey started to explain it to her. But instead of focusing on whatever Grey was saying, Cashmere couldn't help but look at his gorgeous face.

This was the first time that she was able to stare at Grey's face at that short distance.

Her eyes went to his naturally red lips, then to his straight nose, then up to his pair of deep and brown eyes.

His eyes even more look beautiful because of his thick and long lashes.

And you're complimenting him again, Cashmere scolded herself.

Well, no matter how many times I tell myself that Grey is ugly, I can't do it. I can't fool myself.

“Cash... Did you get it? Is my explanation clear to you?"

Cashmere blinked and snapped out of her reverie when Grey looked at her. Thank God she was able to immediately compose herself.

Cashmere let out an awkward smile. “Uh? Can you repeat it Grey? Uh, I didn't get the last part."

Darn. This was a bad idea.

Cashmere didn't know how could see concentrate when this man beside her was her source of distraction. Her heart was beating wildly because of him.

Instead of thinking about her lessons, all Cashmere could think about right now was his handsome face… his addicting scent, and their close distance from each other.

Grey smiled and her heart did another flip. "Sure. Listen again, Cashmere."

Grey patiently repeated his explanations. And this time, Cashmere forced herself to concentrate. Well, she didn't want to look stupid in front of Grey.

“Did you get it now?” Grey asked, turning to her with a patient smile on his face.

Cashmere nodded. "Yeah. Thank you, Grey."

"Okay, let's answer this one." Grey then pointed at an equation in her notebook.

Thank God Cashmere managed to answer it correctly.

“See? That's not very hard, right?” Grey said, smiling at her.

Cashmere pursed her lips. “Well, it's because you're a great teacher...”

Besides, I push myself hard because I don't want to look dumb in front of you.

Grey smiled. “Hmm, I think my student is just really good."

Cashmere's cheeks flushed. Her heartbeat doubled.

“Thank you, Grey,” Cashmere said after Grey said goodbye to her. She walked him to his car.

“You're always welcome, Cash...” Grey smiled.

“If you're having a hard time with any of your subjects again, you can always ask for my help. I'm always free for you." He winked before opening his car door. “I'll go now. See you tomorrow.”

“See you.”

Cashmere's hand flew to her chest while her eyes were following Grey's car. Why was Grey doing this to her? How could she avoid Grey when he was the one he was now the one coming after her?

“GOOD morning...” Cashmere yawned as she greeted Manang Prising when she entered the kitchen. The old woman was preparing breakfast on the dining table.

 “Good morning, Cash...”

Cashmere stiffened when she heard that familiar voice. Her lips parted as she looked around. She found Grey on the kitchen counter.

He was sitting on the high chair while having coffee.

Cashmere blinked a few times. Was Grey really here in their kitchen? Or she was just having a dream?

“Good morning, hija." The old woman greeted her. She turned to her and smiled. "Eat your breakfast now. Grey's already here."

Her head snapped again to Grey. He was wearing a white v-neck shirt, dark pants, and canvas shoes. Darn, he looked so gorgeous in the morning.

This time, her heart skipped a beat.

“Grey... What are you doing here?”

“I'm fetching you, Cashmere...” The corner of his lips curled up in a smile. "I told you yesterday, haven't I?"

“Uh...” Her cheeks heated up when she imagined what she looked like in front of him. “Yeah.. I'll just take a bath.”

Before Grey could answer, Cashmere already ran to the kitchen door.

She immediately took a bath after going back to her room. In a span of thirty minutes, she was already dressed. That's a record for her.

"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, Grey," Cashmere said when she went back downstairs.

Grey smiled. "It's okay, Cashmere. I'm just really early."

"Uh, let's go?"

"You haven't eaten breakfast first."

Cashmere pursed her lips. "Uh, I'll just eat at school."

Grey sighed. "No, Cashmere. Eat your breakfast now. Your class still starts at eight, right? It's just seven. You still have time to eat."

"But how about you? Uh, what time is your class?"

Grey smiled. "My class starts at nine. I just came here early."

Cashmere pursed her lips. "Uh, okay. Have you had breakfast?"

"Yup. I'm done. I'll just wait for you, Cashmere. Take your time, okay?"

Cashmere didn't know how she survived that morning around Grey. She was silent during their whole ride in the car.

"Thanks, Grey," Cashmere muttered when they reached campus.

"You're welcome, Cashmere. Come on, I'll walk you to your room."

Cashmere's eyes widened a fraction. "Oh, no need, Grey…"

“Come on, Cash," Grey smiled, and again, she wasn't able to refuse him.

"Where's your last class for today?" Grey asked when they stopped in front of her classroom.

“Uh, at the Business Ad building.”

“Alright. I'll wait for you later.” He smiled. “Today's the start of the exams, right? Good luck, Cashmere."

"Thank you again, Grey," she said. She remained standing at the door as she watched Grey walk away from her.

“Cash, what's the meaning of what I just witnessed?” Irani said, as she went near her.

Cashmere explained why Grey was with her this morning.

Irani raised her brows. "Then what now, Cashmere? How's your plan to un-crush Grey?"

Cashmere sighed. "I guess… I'll postpone it for now.”
