Ch. 11.1 First Meet!

Delhi.

"Mumma, I am leaving for my college.", Aadya Iyer , informed loudly while running down the stairs, her focus finding something in her embroidered jute hand bag on her shoulder, before she looked up and smiled loudly at her father who was reading something interesting in the newspaper while sitting on a small sofa.

"Careful, Aadya. You might trip or fall down if you will run like this.", Her father, Mr. Ramesh Iyer scold her for being careless and Aadya smiled while circling her arms around his neck from back, and giving him a quick peck on his cheek whispering, "Sorry dad. Will be careful next time. Right now I am seriously getting late."

"Aadya, at least have your breakfast first.", Her mother, Mrs. Nirali Iyer yelled coming out of the kitchen with a small tiffin box and a plate of paratha.

"Sorry mumma but I am seriously getting late. Will have something in the canteen.", Aadya said hurriedly while wearing her flats and Nirali immediately came by her with her tiffin box and an apple saying, "No need to have something from canteen. You know that outside food doesn't suits you. Have this apple on your way and here is your tiffin box."

"Thanks. You are the best mumma.", Giving a side hug and a quick peck to her mother, Aadya rushed out of their small two storeyed old house.

"We are really lucky that Aadya is our daughter. She never argues or demand for anything.", Nirali said to her husband who nodded while folding the newspaper neatly and then asked, "By the way, where is your son?"

"Might be sleeping in his room. Come have your breakfast.", Nirali informed while walking to the dining table for four and arranging plates, while Ramesh sat on the head chair and said, "I seriously wish he could have been as half obedient as Aadya is. God knows when he will understand his responsibilities."

"Let it be. He is still young.", Nirali, as always spoke in the favor of her dearest son and Ramesh rolled his eyes while saying, "We do not belong to some rich family, Nirali. Till when I will carry all the responsibilities on my shoulder all alone. He is already double graduate and can get a very good job. Still he does not even try to go for interviews and grab some good work."

"Good morning Mom. Good morning dad.", Just as the couple were discussing about their lovely son, he decided to grace them with his presence. Ishaan Iyer came and sit on his chair while grabbing a hot paratha into his plate from the casserole.

"So what you guys were talking about?", Ishaan asked munching on the paratha lavishly while Ramesh nodded his head in disbelief and Nirali immediately tried to save the situation by asking, "Ishaan, your dad was asking about when you are planning to start some job? You see your dad is the only earning person and our financial condition is also not that good."

"Mom, I am thinking of doing some business of my own.", Ishan replied sipping on his coffee and Ramesh chuckled sarcastically before asking, "And how? If you don't know then for your kind information my dear son, you need investment for starting any new business. And unfortunately, your father is not some high class rich man who can give you money to start your business."

"I know dad and I have already arranged for the investment. Anyways, what else can I expect from this middle class family!? Don't worry, I won't ask for even a single penny from you because I know about your status and your low class job.", Ishaan said while getting up from the chair and Ramesh was about to give him a proper earful when Nirali stopped him by holding his hand and said in a whisper, "Let it be, Ramesh. You will be the one to get hurt if you will argue with him because he won't stop giving back answers."

Ramesh sighed while staring at his son's retreating figure and said, "People always treat daughters as a burden. But here, my daughter is more responsible than my son. I wish we only had Aadya and not this useless son."

Ramesh Iyer , a middle class man, working as a cashier in a private bank. He lives into their small two storeyed ancestral house with his wife Nirali Iyer who is a housewife, their elder son Ishaan Iyer , a double graduate and their younger daughter Aadya Iyer who is currently pursuing first year MBA. This small family, even though trying their best to meet their ends every single day, they always valued and respect the whatever is given to them by god.

On one hand where their son is a complete spoil brat and good for nothing, on the other hand their daughter is the most understanding and loving child anyone can ask for.

Aadya Iyer knows how to respect the elders and love the younger. She knows to value whatever is given by her favorite lord Aaiyappa (hindu god) and her parents. Not for once, she had argued or demanded for anything from her parents. She believes in living each and every moment of the life happily and never to be too greedy for anything.

"Did you ask Aadya about when her exams are getting over? We need to fix marriage dates for Aadya and Sahil.", Ramesh asked wiping his hands with napkin and Nirali nodded saying, "Her exams will be over by end of this month."

"That will be great. Invite Sahil's family this weekend and we can decide the dates.", Ramesh said and Nirali asked, "What about her further studies? She is yet to complete one more year of her studies."

"Sahil will be shifting to Dubai in few months and his family want them to get married so that Aadya can accompany him to Dubai. And I also think this will be best. Long distance sometimes can ruin relations. Anyways, Sahil has promised that Aadya can continue her study even after going to Dubai.", Ramesh informed and Nirali nodded agreeing to her husband.
