Ch. 19Chapter 19

This scene gave me a strange feeling. From the distant small mountains, to the endless ocean. The mild heat of the sun has also risen. How good it is to feel the fresh and cold air.

I observed not only the entire surroundings, but the skies that had been shrouded in darkness before. Today, it seems to be smiling at us and there is no hint of black cloud for the impending rain. As if, everyone agreed with my feelings.

Cloud Joseph decided to sit near the shore, where he could feel the small waves. Fortunately, there are not many people in this place. If anything, those seem to be residents of this area.

I also notice Cloud Joseph glancing at me. And when I catch him looking at me, he will suddenly avoid it. It's strange to think that his face seemed surprised when he was caught looking at his high school crush. I found it cute but I don't mind it.

He's been quiet for a while and so am I. As if, we first allow ourselves to look at a beautiful view.

I myself broke our silence. "Where are we?" I kept my eyes focused on the blue sea but I saw it coming towards me out of the corner of my eye.

It was only for a moment, then it turned its distant gaze. "Somewhere in Batangas. This is where I go when, like you, I don't even understand the surroundings."

This time, I was the one who turned to him. "Why?"

"Our drama." He stood up and patted the jeans he was wearing. "Come on, you might be hungry."

I didn't say a word and just followed him.

We were barefoot while walking back to the car. My shorts were wet as well as the pants he was wearing. But it was just not with us, we both didn't act. I smiled as I looked behind him.

I stopped when I saw that he was not entering the car. I looked at him in wonder. "Why?"

"I've just changed my mind,"

Although confused, I followed him when he entered the car. "Wear your seatbelt," he said.

We were quiet again on the flight. I noticed that there were not many people around, not many houses to be seen. A few meters away to reach another house.

By the way, unlike what I see on television, unlike what I see on the internet, the area around the sea is quiet and lifeless. Beautiful, but sad. There are only a few houses but side by side, I think they are related.

On the way, we can still see the sea, although we are on the highway, the endless ocean is not lost on the side of the road.

I looked at my cellphone in flight mode. It was eight o'clock in the morning. I smiled because I haven't slept yet but I don't feel sleepy at all. Something I really like.

I looked at Cloud Joseph who had his eyes on the road. He must have noticed that I was looking at him, he turned his gaze to me for a moment and spoke. "Spill it, Khlea," he said.

"I'll open your window," I answered simply.

"Why?"

"I like it," I said cheerfully. I didn't wait for his approval and pressed the button that would lower the glass blocking the fresh air.

"Such a brat." I heard him whisper. I didn't say a word. I don't want bad vibes.

I happily looked at the beautiful surroundings, the tall trees that seemed to block me from the sun so as not to warm me, the lush flowers that seemed to be smiling at me, the sea that was with me just now, the small mountains not far away.

I smiled because I was becoming ignorant of such a small matter. And this little thing brings a strange joy to my heart.

It's no wonder why people who grew up in the provinces no longer want to go to Manila. This feeling is ignorant.

I felt the fresh air embracing me now, the scent of the flowers around felt good to inhale. I can say that it is nice to live in such a quiet place.

And this happy opportunity disappeared when I saw the glass slowly rise again.

I was annoyed when I looked at Cloud Joseph. "The air conditioner will come out," he said.

"The air conditioner doesn't have feet, so don't be stupid," I asked, pressing the button on my side again.

Even before the windshield went down again, it went up. I saw Cloud Joseph press the button in front of him to lock the door and close the window.

It really sucks!

"Your lime is hard, isn't it?!" I seemed to be challenging him.

He sighed. "The air conditioner will come out—"

"The air conditioner has no legs, how can it get out?"

"Don't be a philosopher. I don't want the wind to be too strong." He said calmly without looking in my direction.

I glanced around and it's not like it was before when there were only trees on the side of the road, now the house-to-house is no longer sparse although it's not close to each other either.

I turned my attention back to Cloud Joseph. "Yours isn't open, huh! Only my window is open."

"Your wind is strong."

"So what?"

"Your hard hair is hitting me." I fell silent when he said, "We're here,"

Later, he came down and I followed him.

My eyes widened at what I saw, "Mcdo?"

"Why? Don't you want Mcdo?"

I didn't answer him anymore. It's not that I don't like Mcdo. I just can't believe that there is a Mcdo in the province. I know, I'm too ignorant.

"Tss," I gave him a hard time then held out my hand. "I'll order. Just stay there, what do you want?"

We positioned ourselves in front of the air conditioner. I noticed that our lower clothes were also dry. We don't look messy.

"No, I'll order. I'm the man," he whined.

"Tss. It's not about gender! What's your order? Hurry up and my hand is already singing," I said.

"Tch! Just chicken filet and mcfloat," he said cheerfully then looked away.

What is the man's problem?
