Ch. 18Chapter 18

Pretending to have no interest in women who dance obscenely. It's also one of those that are given just after giving birth.

Men are men.

"Are you quiet, my Queen?" I looked at him again when I heard him speak. "Are you mad again?" This question is mischievous and seems teasing.

"Can you please shut up? I'm going through all the questions in my mind that I want you to answer. So shut up, Joseph!"

There are his two hands raised again. The police made him looks surrendering. "Okay," he said shortly but teasingly.

I just made him suffer. "Are we really going to talk here?"

I saw him put both hands in both pockets of his pants and then spoke. "My place or yours?"

"Tsh! We'll talk inside!" I pointed to the bar where we came from.

"That's loud. We can't hear each other." I saw his smirk after saying that.

"Let's go to the cemetery. It's quiet there!" I answered cheerfully. His brusque laugh did not escape my hearing.

He looked at me as if studying my movements. His eyes narrowed as he observed my whole body.

"I didn't think you were a joker?" He laughed again.

In my annoyance I suddenly kicked his knee. "Are you still going to laugh?"

I witnessed how his eyes widened in shock then grabbed the knee I kicked with both hands.

He deserves that!

I smiled watching him. He, on the other hand, had his mouth agape, apparently trying to prevent himself from making a sound.

It took a while for this to happen. Balanced himself standing. "It is not good for you to hurt a man, my Queen,"

"So, is it right that you're making fun of me?" I raised my eyebrows. "I'm running out of time, Samson. Let's go somewhere."

"Where?"

"Don't ask too much!"

"Alright."

We started walking back to my car when he suddenly stopped walking.

"Wait. I'm using Ariana's car..."

"No worries. We'll use mine," he said coolly. We didn't waste a moment, we both got into his car.

Our flight was quiet. I was just looking out the window even though I couldn't see anything because of the darkness around me. I tried to entertain myself by looking at the blank road.

My hair started to stand up because of the cold air conditioner coming from the car. I simply glanced at Tyrhone out of the corner of my eye as the air conditioner slowly turned its focus away from me, focusing his full attention on driving.

"The heck!" I suddenly covered my mouth. "Why are you talking so suddenly?" I asked in annoyance as I hit his arm.

He laughed lightly again. "I was just going to ask you if I'm going to turn down the air conditioner. You're the one who surprises me. You're suddenly cursing."

I just ignored his teasing. "Slow down and I'm cold!"

"Why are you wearing that? It's early morning." He still didn't stop laughing which added to my annoyance.

"None of your business!"

I simply looked at my own clothes. Fitted baby pink spaghetti backless shirt and a white ripped high-waist short.

It's too short.

But I don't care. This is my style.

"Where do you want to go?" he asked, noticing that I still had no idea where we were going.

"Quiet, peaceful, where there aren't many people. Anywhere as long as it's far from Manila," I answered indifferently.

He laughed out loud. "In the cemetery you say it's quiet, peaceful and there aren't many people."

I glared at him. "Is it really me, you're kidding, Joseph?"

"Oh, easy! There's that deadly look of yours again. Well, why do you want that?"

"I want to be away from toxic places,"

"Why?"

"Just drive. I'll tell you when we get there. For now, shut up and your voice makes me cringe."

He followed what I said. We stayed quiet the entire flight. It was only later that I felt sleepy, we had been walking the road for several hours and in a little while the sun would rise. I yawned more than ten times.

I intended to make Joseph aware of my glance at him. But it didn't even turn to me. The eyes are focused on the road. I wanted to say that he would just wake me up when we got to where we were going, but he didn't. I can still bear the sleepiness.

I was about to cut my eyes off him when suddenly he spoke. "Go and sleep." It's not looking at me.

I looked out the window. The darkness is beginning to lighten. It's still dark, but not as early as yesterday. I think it was past four o'clock.

"No, I'm fine," I replied sparingly without even glancing at him. "Are we still far?"

"Actually, almost. I'm just putting you to sleep because you look like a zombie."

My eyes rolled again when I heard his laugh after he finished speaking.

He really trips me all the time.

I didn't punish him anymore because he was right, I think I'm like a zombie because of sleepiness. Even though I can't see myself, I can feel it because of my aching eyes that feel like they're about to fall.

I just turned on my cellphone to surf the Instagram account. I need to shake off the sleepiness. I need to entertain myself.

Only a minute passed when I felt that the car had stopped.

"Are we here yet?" I will ask. I looked around. The sun is about to rise at this moment, the light and the dark are arguing.

I feel full of excitement when I see where we are. I quickly got out of the car and felt that Tyrhone did the same.

I smiled widely while looking at him who now seemed to be messing up his stiff hair because of the wind. Mine is the same, flying freely. Even if my face is covered because of my hair, I can't deny that my heart is open to the joy of the sight here.

I sweetly smiled at him. I think this is the biggest smile I've ever given someone. I was mesmerized by the view. The overwhelming ocean was waving for me. It's like, I am always welcome to come here.

I looked at him, straight. Seeing his smile makes my whole body shiver. This feeling is familiar, this is what I felt the last time we met.

In front of the vast area, in front of the big waves and in front of the endless ocean.

Sincerely, I mouthed the word thank you.
