Sixteen

It was a Saturday morning, the weather looked pleasant from last night.

The time said 8:45 am the sound of an alarm dangled in Lora's ear as she got up from bed, and sat upright. Then her glance shifted to the edge of the bed. Bill's cloth layed there, together with his tie and wristwatch. It was one of Bill's occasion wears. Where was he going today? She wondered, then heard the sound of pouring water from the bathroom. Bill was in there having his bath.

Soon, he was out of the bathroom with a large white towel tied around his thigh. Lora watched him as he walked past her, heading to his lotion table but didn't utter a word. She was scared that he would do something stupid like always.

"Take off your clothes Lora...."

Lora's heart skipped a staccato against her ribs when she heard this but the statement was the other way around. Meanwhile, Bill had intentionally teased her to scare the living spirit off her body.

He turned to see the already shivering lady that was sitting on the bed.

"I know you'd started vibrating like a sick chick. Get dressed we're going for an occasion."

He said.

"What occasion Bill?"

"Why do you still need to ask? Just get dressed and hurry!"

"Am sorry but I don't think I can go with you. I've got work to finish with at the office."

Lora said and made to leave but Bill pushed her hard onto the bed as he got on top of her.

"You know how to be stubborn, don't you? But I know how to make you respond... just one hit, and you're calm!"

Bill yelled as he grabbed a rope trying to tie her hands and strip her naked, but...

"I will go anywhere with you but please don't hurt me again." She cried.

"Now get the fuck up and you shouldn't keep me waiting."

Bill withdrew from her body as she hurriedly fled into the bathroom. He knew this medicine would work on her.

"I mustn't lose that deal because of this crazy woman." He whispered.

Austin's POV

He kept pacing about the titchy office, going in and out of it to see if Lora had reported working. It was 10:30 am already yet she hadn't arrived. It was unlike her to report late. What could be holding her on the way?

Then he thought of walking straight to her office to ask Naomi, even if she was going to rant or give a yell. When he got there, he was scared to knock but did it after all. Naomi opened up and was surprised to see every girl's crush. Austin standing at the door. Has he come back for her? She thought.

"Hey Austin, come in and have seat," Naomi said as she smirked.

"Thanks but that's not what I am here for. Have you seen or heard from Lora? Cuz av has been calling her line but it's not reachable."

Naomi frowned her face at this.

"Is this the reason you came here? Just tell me u wanna get on my nerves Austin."

"Naomi can you at least state the reason why you're hating on Lora?"

"Austin I am in love with you.... since you stepped ur feet in here, I am completely obsessed with you."

Naomi began to come closer to Austin trying to caress his body as she puckered her lips seductively. Austin wriggled free.

"Take ur hands off me, Naomi, what on earth has gone over you? Well, am in love with some other."

"It's Lora right?"

"I can't forget what I am here for. I need to reach Lora, have a good day."

Austin said and left immediately. He didn't believe what he had just heard... Naomi was in love with him? Lol, she must be kidding.

He returned to his office and dialed her number the fifth time but luckily, it was ringing.

Lora's POV

Her phone rang ceaselessly while it layed on the bed. She hadn't been around the room to answer her call. As the phone kept ringing, Bill came in and wondered why Lora was away from her phone. He looked into the phone, it was a strange number. Then he picked it up and placed it on his ear.... a guy's voice was heard.

"Who's this and what do you want? He yelled.

Immediately he answered, and Lora, showed up at the door. She was behind him that's why he didn't see the anxious expression and the vibration she made. Luckily she had saved Austin's contact with a symbol. Meanwhile, Austin on the other end of the phone shook on hearing the husky frightening voice of Bill.

"Urm...I am Lucas from the king's supermarket. I have called to inform madam Lora that the despatch rider is here to make some delivery. Please I will like to speak to...."

Bill didn't wait for Austin to land. He had thought the caller was one of Lora's boyfriends.

"Lora! Lora!..." she showed up. "You've got a call. Hurry up, I'll be waiting in the car."

He handed the phone to her and left the room. But before Lora spoke, she made sure that he wasn't around the room.

"Hello!" She said.

"Lora, Who was that that picked up the call?"

Lora vibrated when the question was asked. What was she going to tell Austin, that she was married and never told him? Heck! How was he going to take this shit?! She thought as her fingers ran through her hair nervously.

"He's urm... he's my husband."

She managed to voice out, shutting her eyes tight.

"You're married?" He asked.

"Am sorry I never mentioned this before now. Austin please try and under...."

Austin cut the call against her and instantly, fear gripped her more.

"Hell no! what has gone wrong..."

"Lora!"

Bill yelled her name from outside the mansion as a look of panic crossed her face. Hurriedly, she fled from the room down to where Bill was waiting with their chauffeur(driver).

"I'm sorry I kept you waiting." She apologized and then got in the back of the car close to Bill.

"Listen, woman, when we get there, pretend like nothing's going wrong between us. You've to make 'em believe that we're lovely couples and that we live beautifully. Understand?"

He said without looking at her.

"But Bill what if...."

"Don't get on my nerves, Lora. Do as you're told!"

He yelled. "Hey you, start the car!"

Austin stared into his phone for a while. He felt he did the wrong thing by hanging up on Lora but at the same time, the right thing to do. He just put the phone into his hip pocket and resumed work on his system.
