Ch. 26Twenty Five

“JUST drop me off here,” Sandra told the taxi driver when they reached their destination.
The driver looked at Sandra from the rearview mirror.
“Ma'am. Can you still remember me?”
Sandra's brows furrowed as she tried to remember the man in front of her. Her face lightened up when she finally remembered him.
It was the same taxi driver she rode on the night Jude broke up with her. It was the driver who gave her a box of tissues.
“Oh, yes. I remembered you now,” she exclaimed. "You're that taxi driver!"
“How are you now, ma'am? You looked happy, unlike that night,” he commented. “Let me guess? You already have a new love life? "
"You're right, Sir,” Sandra answered happily.
Now, when Sandra remembered how she cried her heart out that night, she just wanted to laugh at herself.
Dylan will come home from his medical mission tomorrow. Sandra was already excited to see her boyfriend again.
She missed him so much.
Sandra went to the third floor of the mall to look for a restaurant when she noticed a familiar man inside a jewelry shop.
She couldn't see his face but Sandra was sure of who it was.
It was Dylan, of course. Even if she could only see his back, she was sure it was Dylan.
But Dylan's still in Sagada, Sandra. Have you forgotten that? the back of her mind reminded her.
Dylan and Sandra even talked on the phone this morning. Dylan told her that he was still in Sagada. And the travel time from Sagada was almost twelve hours.
But how could Sandra explain what she saw? She was sure it was Dylan. She had already memorized his body. Besides, her heart was telling her it was him.
Sandra bit her lower lip and walked towards the jewelry store.
She had only been taken a few steps forward when the man in the jewelry store moved.
And there she saw it. His face. Dylan…
Sandra's heart beat doubled while staring at Dylan. How was he here in Manila when he was supposed to be still in Sagada?
Why did he lie to her?
Sandra took a deep breath and continued with her steps.
But she stopped midway when she saw a woman enter the jewelry shop and walked straight to Dylan.
A sharp pain attacked Sandra's heart. Her heart shattered more with the woman's next move. She kissed Dylan.
Tears automatically fell from Sandra's eyes. Before her heart totally gets shattered, she already decided to run away.
Sandra didn't have any plan to stop until she crashed into a solid body.
“Sandra.”
Sandra looked up. Her eyes saw a familiar man in front of her. It was Jude.
"What are you doing here? And why are you crying Sandra?"
Instead of answering, Sandra just cried more.

"Dylan, why are you here in Manila? You're supposed to be in Sagada, right?" Dylan's cousin Leya asked when he visited her in her jewelry store inside that famous mall in the metro.
The woman was one of her cousins on the mother's side.
“I just came back this morning.”
Dylan was already here in Manila when Sandra talked to him on the phone this morning. But he didn't tell her the truth that she was already back.
Dylan did that because he wanted to surprise her.
"And why are you here in my shop? Don't tell me you're just here to visit me? I won't believe you."
He smiled. “I need an engagement ring, Leya.”
“Engagement ring?” her cousin's eyes widened. “You're getting married?”
“Why, you sound so shocked, Leya.” He asked amusingly.
Leya shook her head. “Of course, why wouldn't I be surprised? You're a playboy." Leya's eyes slanted on him. "Answer me truthfully. Did you get someone pregnant?"
“What the hell, Leya. Of course not.” Dylan licked his lower lip and smiled. Then he pointed his finger at his left chest. “I got stuck here. Big time.”
“Shit. Finally, you're in love!” Leya exclaimed.
“Very much in love,” he proudly answered.
If he'd given a chance, he'd tell the whole how happy and in love he is right now.
He was so proud he is in love with Sandra.
The very moment he laid her eyes on her, he already had a strong feeling that Sandra would change his life.
And he was right. Sandra made him fall in love with her. She made him experience the feeling of being in love for the first time.
As each day passed by, his feelings for Sandra were getting deeper.
“I want to meet the girl!” Leya exclaimed excitedly.
“You will meet her soon.”
Dylan still hasn't had the chance to introduce Sandra to his family.
He wanted to introduce her to his whole family, not just as his girlfriend, but as his soon to be wife.
The moment he fell in love with Sandra, he was already sure that she is the girl he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
“Oh, Dylan, I'll volunteer myself as your wedding planner." Leya grinned. "You know I love planning weddings. I'll make sure you'll have the perfect wedding, Dylan."
Aside from managing her own jewelry shop, Leya was also a wedding planner.
“I need to find a ring first—”
He stopped midsentence when someone grabbed his arms and kiss him fully on the lips.
He was frozen for a few seconds before realizing who the woman was. It was Krista.
Dylan grabbed her shoulder before he pushed her away from him.
“What the hell, Krista?” Dylan barked at the woman. His thick eyebrows were almost crossed in one line. "What was that?"
He didn't care if Leya and her staff heard him.
He couldn't forgive what she had done. Even if he didn't kiss her back, Dylan felt like he betrayed Sandra.
No one was allowed to kiss him except for Sandra.
“It's just a greeting kiss, Dylan...” Krista even had the nerve to smile at him.
“What's wrong with that?”
