“GOOD morning, Ma,” Sandra greeted her mother when she saw her in the kitchen that morning.

"Good morning, Sandra." her mother greeted her back. She was cooking breakfast. Fried rice, egg omelette, corned beef. Damn, just the smell of the food made her stomach growled.

“Where's father?”

“He's at the office with his constituents, Sandra. They have an emergency meeting this morning."

Her father was the current mayor of their small town, while her mother was an elementary school teacher.

“By the way, Dylan's already awake.”

A smile formed on her lips. “Where is he?”

Both her parents suggested to let Dylan stay for the weekend. She wanted to protest but then Dylan told her that he was on work vacation for two days.

She was even surprised when she found out that Dylan brought some clothes in his car. He was really sure that she would allow him to stay with her, huh.

“Come on, Sandra. Go and check on Dylan in the backyard. Tell him we're already having breakfast.”

“What's he doing in the backyard?" She frowned at her mother.

Their house has a backyard. Her father transformed it into a small farm.

Before her father went into politics, they had a poultry farm. That's only one of her family's business aside from hectares of farmlands.

When his father become a politician, her parents decided to sell the poultry farm since his father wanted to serve the town and no one would be left to personally take care of the poultry.

Later on, her father decided to transform their backyard into a small farm. They have chickens there, and some fruits and vegetable plants.

Her mother smiled at her. "Just go and see for yourself."

She used the backdoor in the kitchen to go straight to the backyard.

And there, she saw him.

Her jaw fell on the ground when she witnessed what Dylan was doing. He was harvesting chicken eggs!

She couldn't speak as she continued to watch Dylan. He was carefully picking up chicken eggs and putting them in the basket he was holding in his other hand.

When she finally recovered from shock, she bit her lower lip to stop herself from smiling.

Imagine! Dylan Laxamana, a doctor in one of the biggest hospitals in the country, was found picking up chicken eggs in their backyard.

And damn he looked so cute!

“Sandra!” Dylan said when he finally noticed her .He went to her.

“Good morning, Sandra.” He greeted her and flashed his dashing smile.

Damnit. She could feel the loud beating of her heart inside her chest.

“Good morning.” She returned his smile while staring at him.

He was only wearing simple khaki shorts and white v-neck shirt but he still looked so undeniably handsome.

He looked even more attractive with his slightly disheveled hair and morning face. He looked real hot. Despite the basket of eggs that he was holding.

“My mother has told me you wake up early. Were you comfortable with your bed last night?"

Dylan occupied one of their guestrooms.

“I had a good sleep last night,” he answered with a wide smile.

“I'm just really an early bird. Besides, I really wanted to wake up early so I could help in the house. But your mom wouldn't let me do anything." He pursed his lips.

Her heart wanted to jump out of her chest. Damn! It was still early in the morning but this doctor was already making her heart thump like crazy.

"You didn't have to do that. You're a visitor here, Dylan."

"Well, I wanted to do something…"

"That's why you're harvesting eggs?" she asked, biting her lower lip. Her eyes went down again to the basket in his hand.

"Yeah. I asked your mom what I can do to help." He shrugged at her.

She pursed her lips and crossed her arms over her chest. "Well, you don't really have to do anything because like I said, you're our visitor here. But did you enjoy it? Picking up chicken eggs?"

He chuckled. "Yeah. It's fun. It's the first time I did something like this."

"You should cook next time," she couldn't help but joke. "Well, do you know how to cook?"

He raised his brows at her. "Are you doubting my ability in the kitchen, Sandra. I'll definitely cook for you one of these days, baby."

Bunch of butterflies invaded her stomach when she heard the word baby from him.

She couldn't handle his strong effect on her. Just his simple smile was enough to make her knees weak. Flirting with Dylan in the morning would surely send her to death.

“Okay, then. I'll wait for that."

She took a deep breath and calmed herself. She should stop acting like a freaking teenager in front of this doctor.

“Come on. Give me the basket, Dylan. Let's get inside. Breakfast is already ready.”

She took from him the basket of eggs.

“Can I take a quick shower first?” he asked her.

Dylan slightly smelled the sleeve of his shirt. "I think I smelled like chickens." He chuckled lightly.

"Really?" Before she could stop herself, she already went to him and smelled his shirt.

But it was too late to step away from him. So, she continued smelling on him as if it was just normal for her.

And Dylan smelled so good. He smelled of cologne and aftershave. He smelled heavenly and masculine. It was addicting. She even imagined herself burying her face in his chest. But of course, she couldn't do that.

“How do I smell, baby?”

She blinked and snapped out of her reverie. His voice suddenly sounded so sexy. She felt the hair on her nape stood out.

When she looked at him, she was welcomed by his deep eyes, who were looking at her seductively.

Her cheeks heated up.

She cleared her throat. “You smelled good,” she tried to answer in a casual tone. “You don't smell like chicken. You only smelled like eggs," she joked.
