Ch. 15Fourteen

Dylan Laxamana was a few meters away from her. He was handsomely leaning on his car.

He was wearing a white long sleeve polo shirt that folded up to his elbows, a dark maong pants, and a pair of top siders.

Damn. He looked so gorgeous.

Her heart raced inside her chest when their eyes met.

Dylan smiled at her. Damn. Her insides were already hyperventilating.

She started walking towards her but then he slightly raised his hand and stopped her.

"Stop right there." he mouthed at her.

She frowned at him but then she remained rooted in the ground.

Her lips parted when she watched Dylan open the door of his car and got something inside. A guitar!

Why did he bring a guitar? She remained motionless as she continued watching him put the strap of the guitar on his body.

“Oh my! He's going to sing for you, Sandra!”

She heard Jana's voice behind her. She turned her head at her friend. She had noticed that some of the people in the building were also watching them.

She pursed her lips as her eyes went back to Dylan. Her cheeks were already beet red. She felt like butterflies invaded her stomach when Dylan started playing his guitar.

He was strumming the guitar while walking towards her without even breaking their eye contact.

She was kind of familiar with the sound he was making on his guitar but because of her racing heart, she couldn't figure out what exactly the song was. She could see people starting to swarm at them. Damn. They were already making a scene.

Dylan was already a meter away from her when he stopped taking steps.

He stopped strumming and looked at her intently. Damn. She felt her knees getting weak.

And when she felt like she was already melting under his stares, he started playing the guitar again.

This time, he finally started singing.

“I wanted to apologize for this...”

Doctor Dylan Laxamana was singing in front of her! He was singing for her!

She couldn't believe it.

Her heart beat doubled. It was racing and wanted to get out of her chest. Butterflies completely invaded her stomach. She couldn't help the smile on her face.

“Miss beautiful, I hope you understand. I know we're still basically strangers to each other. But I couldn't help myself from falling for you...”

The hair on her nape stood up with how good his singing voice was. She was having goosebumps.

She had a total of five ex-boyfriends but none of them ever made her feel this way.

This was the first time she had ever felt something like this. She wanted to scream at the top of her lungs.

Instead, she bit her lower lip.

The whole time Dylan was singing, he didn't leave her eyes.

“Please forgive me for loving you this fast. Please, forgive me for loving you this fast. I know we're still basically strangers to each other. But I couldn't help myself from falling for you."

Dylan stopped singing and strumming his guitar.

He finally closed the distance between them. She felt like her breathing stopped when he held her hand.

“D-Dylan...” She didn't know how despite the racing of her chest, she could still manage to speak.

“Sandra.” Dylan gently held her hand while looking at her straight in the eyes.  “I wanted to court you. Can I ?”

“MA, you've prepared a lot,” Sandra told her mother Carol when she went to the dining table.

Her eyes roamed around the food on the dining table. Her mother prepared four different dishes just for her.

It was the weekend. She had decided to go home to her parents house in the province. Well, she missed them. It's been months since she last went home.

“Well, that's your mother's way of saying she misses you," he father told her, smiling. "You know that every time you go home, she really likes to prepare your favorite dishes."

She thanked her mother before starting tasting the food in front of her. She was smiling wide after taking a bite of her favorite chicken empanada.

“Your food is really the best, Ma," she complimented.

“I hope you eat a lot, Sandra,” her mother told her, pushing her the bowl of baked mussels. “Look at your body. You're getting thin. Are you sure you're eating properly in the city?"

She poured her lips. “Ma, I'm not thin. I'm just naturally slender. I think sexy is the right term." She winked at the people on the table, that includes her parents and her only brother, Cray.

“Sexy?” Cray mockingly shot his brows at her. He was her only sibling. He was sixteen years old and in his last year in senior high. “You're being conceited, my dear sister." He grinned.

Instead of getting offended, she just chuckled at her brother.

"Come on, I missed you too, Cray."

Her brother looked at her with slanted eyes. "I noticed something. Why do you look so happy? The last time you visited us, you were acting as if someone had died. And now, you can't stop smiling."

Even her mother turned to her. “Do you have a new boyfriend, Sandra?”

“I don't have a new boyfriend, Ma,” she answered as she poured some rice on her own plate. “Bit someone was courting me.”

She was open to her family when it comes to her love life. All of her ex-boyfriends were able to visit their house and met her family.

Her mother's eyes widened in delight. “Oh, what's his name, Sandra? Where did you meet him? What's his profession?” She fired her with questions.

She cleared her throat and stifled a smile. “His name's Dylan Laxamana, Ma. I met him in a hospital in Manila. He's a doctor.”

“What kind of doctor?” It was her father who asked this time.

She smiled at him. “Pediatrician pa.”

One week had already passed when Dylan asked for her permission to court her. Until now, she still couldn't believe it. She suddenly remembered his answer when she asked him his reason for wanting to court her.
