“NURSE, what room can I find Warren Pascual?”

Sandra asked the information desk of St. Luke's Hospital.

"How are you related to the patient, Ma'am?"

I gave her a small smile. "He's a close friend."

“He's in room 315, ma'am.”

She thanked the nurse before heading to the elevator.

She was surveying a lot in a subdivision in Laguna with an architect when Jana called her and told her that she was in the hospital.

According to her friend, her boyfriend Warren got into an accident.  The car he was driving crashed into a concrete barrier on the road.

She still didn't know how serious Warren's situation was because Jana's phone died in the middle of their call.

Well, it seemed like Warren was already out of danger since he was no longer in the emergency room.

Sandra stopped in front of Warren's room. She noticed the door was slightly opened. She was about to knock and entered the room when she heard her best friend's voice.

“Look at you, Warren! You're already injured yet you're still asking for a kiss!"

“Come on, hon. Just one kiss.”

“Fine. Just one, okay?”

A smile stretched on her lips. Looks like she had nothing to worry about. Warren seemed perfectly fine.

Instead of informing them of her presence, she had decided to step back. She didn't want to disturb the two.

She walked away and decided to roam around the hospital instead.

 “Sandra?”

Her heart skipped a beat when she heard the familiar manly voice. She stopped walking and turned her head to where the voice came from.

Dylan's handsome face greeted her. He was walking towards her with a smile on his face. He was looking immaculately handsome in his white coat.

Dylan stopped in front of her and smiled wider. Damn! She felt like everything stopped moving around her. “Hi, Dylan,” she greeted her, smiling.

“You know what? I'm really planning to visit you in your apartment later but here you are, already in front of me." He grinned.

Her eyes widened. “But I didn't come here to visit you.” Damn. Did he think that she's here for him? Although… she really did hope to see him…

“I'm just kidding." He chuckled. “Why? Don't you miss me?”

Her cheeks heated up. “Hmmp, why would I miss you when we just saw each other yesterday?"

“Well, I missed you.”

Her heart jumped outside her chest. Even if she couldn't see herself on the mirror, she was pretty sure that her face was already as red as a tomato.

Dammit!

“Oh, you're blushing!” His smile went wider. His eyes were like dancing in amusement.

She shook her head and avoided his eyes. “I'm not.”

“Hmm, okay. You're not.”

Dylan agreed, nodding at her. But the playfulness in his eyes didn't get erased.

She didn't know this guy could be naughty. But instead of getting annoyed, her heart just thumped inside her chest.

Be still, heart! She told her own heart. She secretly took a deep breath and calmed herself.

“Anyway, who did you visit here?” he asked in a serious tone.

“You've already met Jana, right?”

He nodded. "Did something happened to her?" he asked in a concerned voice.

"No. Not here. It's her boyfriend. He had a minor accident earlier."

“How is he? Is he okay?"

“Well, yeah. Seems like Warren was already fine. I didn't go to their room because I didn't want to disturb him and Jana. I heard they were having a moment." She pursed her lips, slightly shrugging.

“Well then, if you don't want to disturb them, why don't you go to my clinic first?" he suggested. The corner of his lips tugged up in a smile.

She playfully shot up a brow. "Can I disturb you, then?"

“Don't worry, I don't have a patient until one pm today," he answered. “Come on, Sandra?”

She bit her lower lip, contemplating if she would really go with him. “W-wait, I'll think about it first.”

Damn! She really did want to be with him but something was stopping her.

Say no, Sandra! You can't go with him.

She looked at Dylan who was still smiling while waiting for her answer. How could she refuse him if he's smiling like that?

"Alright. I'll come with you.” She answered with a smile.

Dylan grinned sheepishly. "I knew it. You can't say no to me."

“Wow! Someone's being conceited here, huh." She playfully rolled her eyes at him.

Well, he only told the truth! You really can't refuse him, Sandra.

"Hey, I'm just kidding." He chuckled. "Come on now before you change your mind."

He took her hand and led her to the elevator. Her eyes went down to their hands. She could feel the small amount of electricity traveling through her skin.

His mind was telling her to move her hand from him but she couldn't.

Damn, she already knew that this could be bad, but she couldn't stop herself.

They went to the fifth floor, and stopped in front of a door.

Dr. Dylan C. Laxamana, M.D.

Pediatrician.

When Dylan opened the door, they were welcomed by a woman who was sitting behind a desk. “Doc!” the woman politely smiled at Dylan.

Dylan turned to her. “Sandra, this is my medical assistant, Mae.”

“Hello, Ma'am." His assistant greeted her with a warm smile. “Are you Doc Dylan's girlfriend?”

Her eyes widened at her. “Girlfriend? No. I'm not his girlfriend...” She shook her head and turned to Dylan. “Uhm, we're just friends.”

Well… Dylan didn't really confirm to her if they were friends or not. But she didn't know what answer to give to her very curious assistant.

"Stop being very showbiz, Ma'am," Mae said teasingly. “Doc, is she your girlfriend?” She turned to Dylan instead.

“Secret,” Dylan just grinned at his secretary.

After that, Dylan led her into another room. He opened it and motioned her to go inside.

His clinic was wide. It was very different from Dr. Leonard Ocampo's clinic where they first met.
