"Wow, you looked blooming, Sandra!"

Sandra smiled at her office mates who praised her that morning.

"Thanks." She was smiling widely when she reached her cubicle. She put down her favorite cup of coffee on her desk and started her day at work with a good disposition.

She was in a good mood. She couldn't believe that after five long months of being bitter about everything, she suddenly woke up in a good disposition.

She had a feeling it was all because of Dylan. Ever since they had ice cream that night, the smile on her face couldn't be wiped off.

Suddenly, she was inspired in life.

Before the lunch break came, she went out of the firm to meet a client. She had a luncheon meeting with an important client in a restaurant this afternoon.

“Good afternoon, ma'am! Can I take your order?”

The waiter went to her. She was in a Japanese restaurant thirty minutes away from her office.

"I'll just order iced tea for now," she told him. "I'm still waiting for someone."

While still waiting for the client, she just busied herself with the blueprint that she's going to present to her. She double checked it.

Her client was a half Filipino-half Japanese who lives in the country. She got their firm for the Japanese inspired house that she's planning to build in Tagaytay.

"Sandra?"

From the blueprint, her eyes flew to the woman standing in front of her. Her eyes slanted when she recognized the woman.

"Lara," she coldly greeted her.

The woman raised her perfect eyebrows at her. "Wow. Who would have thought that I'd see you here."

Lara was her mortal enemy way back in college. Their feud started because of Vince, her first boyfriend.

The woman was Vince's girlfriend before they became together. Lara got mad at her because she thought that she was the reason why Vince broke up with her. But she wasn't. Vince had told her that he broke up with Lara because he caught the woman flirting with another guy.

Just like Vince, she'd last seen Lara on their high school reunion.

She secretly took her in. Nothing has changed much for her. From her looks to her attitude. She was still the bitchy Lara years ago.

There was only one thing new that she had noticed on her. She was wearing a huge diamond ring on her finger.

"Oh, in case you didn't know. I'm getting married," she proudly said when she noticed where I was looking.

She even raised her left hand at me to flash that engagement ring.

Who cares if you're getting married?

She wanted to roll her eyes at her. But instead, she managed to give her a fake smile.

  "Congratulations on your engagement, Lara."

"Thanks," she smiled at her arrogantly. "What about you? Any plans of getting married?” Her eyes went down to her bare fingers. Then with a satisfied smirk, she raised her brow. "Do you even have a boyfriend?"

Her fake smile disappeared. Together with her good mood.

Lara really hadn't changed a bit. She was still an insulting bitch. But of course, just like before, she couldn't allow this woman to win over her.

"Of course. I do have, Lara," she answered. She wasn't a fan of lying and pretending but she had to save her butt.

She would never give her the satisfaction of insulting her.

"Really?" He doubtfully looked at the vacant chair in front of her. "Then why are you alone right now?"

She took a deep breath to calm herself. "I'm not here for a date, Lara. I came here to meet a—”

Her words got suspended on air when a familiar warm hand touched her shoulder.

"Hi, baby. Sorry I'm late. I had an emergency in the hospital.”

Her jaw almost fell from her face when she saw the most handsome doctor she'd met in her life.

Sandra blinked her eyes while staring at Dylan. When she was already sure that he was really beside her, her mind was suddenly filled with questions.

What was he doing here? How did he suddenly show up? Why was his hand on her shoulder? And most of all, why did he call her 'baby'?

“You're Sandra's boyfriend?”

She suddenly remembered that Lara was in front of her.

Her eyes went back to the woman. She hadn't failed to witness her shocked face while she was staring at Dylan beside her.

“Yeah. I'm Sandra's boyfriend. Dylan Laxamana.”

Sandra's eyes immediately flew back to Dylan. Her jaw almost dropped to the floor. What? Boyfriend?

“Baby? Do you want to introduce me to your friend?”

Dylan looked at her. There was a gentle smile on his handsome face.

She felt the slight press of his hand on her shoulder. Her heart started to beat faster inside her chest.

“Uh… Dylan, this is Lara.”

“I'm Sandra's college friend,” Lara told Dylan. She smiled at him sweetly. Very opposite to the fake smile she gave her earlier.

Wait. She was getting confused.

First, Dylan suddenly showed up and introduced himself as her boyfriend in front of Lara. Then Lara telling Dylan they were 'college friends'. Lastly, didn't just Lara told her that she was already engaged? But why was she looking at Dylan as if she was smitten by him?

“Nice to meet you, Lara."

“Same here,” Lara was all smiles at Dylan. It seemed like she had no plans of leaving them if not only for the man who called her. That must be the poor fiance, huh.

When Lara walked away from them, Dylan finally removed his hand on her. Then he pulled up the chair in front of her and sat on it.

“We meet again, Sandra,” Dylan said with a wide smile on his face.

Now that he was in front of her, she couldn't help but stare at his gorgeous face.

She wanted to open her mouth and asked him things but she was getting distracted by his handsomeness.

“Why did you introduce yourself as my boyfriend?” Finally, she was able to ask him after recovering from presence.

“I was sitting one table away from you and I overheard your conversation.”
