Ch. 14Bickering Batch

~Recap~

The hassled student nods as she steps inside the classroom and searches for an empty seat only to find the only empty spot left and that too exactly next to the person she has been trying to avoid the most.

“It seems like all the seatings are engaged so… Oh there's a spot left next to Theo.” The professor motions towards Theo and why did Azura already expect that?

As for the said man, he seems to be already chiming in accomplishment as if some plan of his worked. Was he behind Azura's time mishap? Who knew? He was abnormal anyway. At least for Azura, he definitely was.

Nodding at the teacher's instruction, Azura replies, “Right, Professor. Thank you so much.”

The lady begins walking where she was directed and her nerves were already cuddling inside. Not sure if because of the nervousness or excitement but either way, it's going to be a hysterical day.

______

“Miss Barnes… Miss Barnes!”

Of course, Azura doesn't remember if when she did something to make the professor almost yell her name like that. “Yes, Professor?”

“Oh dear, my apologies. I didn't mean to make you startle like that. You just seemed to be lost that you even eventually stopped on your track. Not to mention but, it seems like you have seen some… Ghost.”

At least, the professor said ghost and not a wolf because the person who has Azura all stunned was more like a living wolf than a ghost but ghost wasn't also too bad to address Theo since he seemed to flare Azura with blissful nightmares even in the daylight.

The lady was already inna guilty pleasure and it was just sitting next to each other for the almighty's sake.

“Oh, no, no. Professor. It's totally alright. I kind of was caught up but definitely not because of that. It's just…”

“It is alright. I understand, Miss Barnes.” The latter cuts in Azura's unfinished statement for which Azura was more than thankful because, what else could she even spill as an excuse? Such a wonderful person her professor was. “There are multiple sets of work to be done so it must be getting a little stressful. Just take care of yourself and good luck. Please have your seat now.” Concludes the professor while motioning towards Theo's desk.

Azura continues stepping ahead from where she had unknowingly stopped. Though, this time she doesn't and is finally now next to Theo.

Not even a minute has it been since she was there and she was already welcomed with a, “Hey. Good morning.”

It is clearly visible that the smile she offers to the man was terribly artificial but Theo seems still blessed just by it. “First of all, it's almost past noon and second, it is already not good now that I'm here, with you.” Concludes Azura while settling herself on the desk. She obviously doesn't forget to mind the gap in between them.

Theo hummed in a vague agreement before he voices, “Or how about I rephrase it better? We are here, together.”

Azura's mouth opens a little while the latter nonchalantly smiles and shrugs. Deciding not to continue this unneeded conversation, she just shakes her head and looks straight towards the teacher's direction.

The man also decides to let the lady have her peace during class as he also shifts his face following Azura.

“Did you see, Cindy? What Azura just did!” Comes a whisper-yell from the other desk which was not so far away from Azura and Theo's.

The said grunts slightly inaudibly to her friend's quotation before she quotes herself, “Right, Li. I can clearly see her acts. She got late on purpose today. She knew that every other sest would be engaged by the class time except Theo's since he doesn't let anyone else sit with him. I mean, of course except me.” Cindy takes a pause feeling proud as she say that while Leanne just frowns in confusion because, when has Theo ever done that?

“Just because my man and I had a domestic couple fight, she got the balls to slip in and snatch my man away.”

Leanne nods in agreement but then something puzzles her. “That's right but, Cindy, don't you it's impossible for Azura to get balls since she's a… You know, women like us?”

It was now Cindy's turn to frown in disbelief. “Are you being serious about this? Leanne? Of course I know she's a 'she', what I meant is, how come did she get such overconfidence all so suddenly.”

“Oh, oh… I got it. Ahaha, my bad. Well, I'm pretty sure she became this confident since the day I sat with her. I shouldn't have done that. I mean, my presence alone just flared her with that. It's my fault that I just make everyone so sassy with my existence. I mean just look at you, Cindy.”

Cindy stares at the latter for a few moments before shaking her head in frustration. “So you're seriously trying to say that all the sass abd swag I have is because of you, huh?”

Averting her gaze from the latter, Leanne mutters, “I mean, of course?”

“Oh really? Well then you forgot the time when you were literally Azura two point zero and had no existence in the whole campus at all. It was me to have mercy on you.” Growled Cindy while crossing her hands.

“As if you didn't come behind me like a lone puppy when I left you only for a day. You literally begged me to forgive you and that too in front of Azura.”

“You must havevbeen suffering from a short term memory loss lately. Me, and beg you?”

“Miss Sean and Miss Myers!”

The sudden raise of the professor's voice takes the entire room's attention. The teacher sighs a little before calming the tone and resuming ahead. “What are you? Some kindergarteners? We're in the middle of an ongoing batch of university. But you two can't keep your raffled mouths shut for even a couple of moments.”

“But Professor, Theo and Azura are also talking…” Cindy attempts to get the duo caught but seems like she fails when both of them happen to be silent. Azura lowers her eyes which satisfies Cindy to know that the girl was still scared of her but her satisfaction fades right away when she receives a mocking wink from Theo.

“You bloody–”

“Ahem, ahem, language, Miss Sean.” Says the teacher, not letting the student finish the curse. “Anyway, you two, out of my class.”

Both Cindy and Leanne stared at each other before they stare back at the teacher. “But, Professor…”

“Out of my class, now!”
