Ch. 1Prologue Saga I

It was the time when Aurelius was destined to have its heiress. After many decades of wait, the pack was finally going to have a new spirited life to continue its bloodline and lifeline.

The level of arouse, anxiousness, agitation and restlessness was getting tremendously high. Everyone was literally running and rushing through the entire lands and walls of the large castle. No breath was being taken in a relaxed state. No blood was flowing smoothly inside the skin's slate.

Precisely, it definitely could be sensed that something so intense was yet to happen. Which was a fair truth since everyone was contributing their every single moment, their every single breath and literally, their whole existence to this very moment. And why would they not even be? The birth of Aurelius princess was one such massive reason.

Though, despite being massive, it was not the only reason for the rushed anticipated event. It actually had two reasons behind it. First, noticeably the birth of princess of Aurelius.

And second… “Borealis.”

“Your majesty, they are arriving. Some of their knights and fighters have already attacked our soldiers over the border of our pack.” A trembling voice informs the royal of the pack.

Slight sound of grunt comes before the latter starts speaking. “I know. I can even smell their scent from here already. They must not be so far away from our castle as well.”

Another hassled voice then barges in the conversation. “King Alexios, some wolves are brutally injured and a few are already killed. Our border had lost its protection so we had to send more of our soldiers from inside the kingdom but the situation doesn't seem to be getting any better.”

The King nods as the tension in his features rises up. “Right. Then I believe we don't have much time and must release our alpha knights. Make sure the strongest and prepared ones are ahead of the others who need a little moment to captivate with the act.”

“Of course, your majesty.”

The royal attendants obeyed the command and left for their duties. But it doesn't take another moment for another chambermaid to arrive and release concern to the king. “My lord, the queen is going through immense pain and can go into labor at any moment. The havoc is all around the realms and we can't seem to ascertain the situation.”

“Take her to the gallows and get everyone and everything you need. Don't worry about anything. Just take care of all the midwives and your queen. And especially, our princess. We'll be taking care of here for the meantime.”

The woman follows as instructed and leaves for the gallows with the queen of the pack.

______

“Ahh… I'm sickening from pain, Clarissa. I can't go any further.”

The woman named Clarissa shifts her attention prior to the latter as the expression on her face becomes both timid and encouraging. “I won't really say that I can understand your situation, your highness. Because I'm probably not capable enough to process a Luna's side who is supposed to grant us the new heir for our kingdom in these uncertain events.”

Just as Clarissa finishes her part of the statement, another feminine voice perks in, sounding rushed and troubled of course. “Queen Diana, please here. Thank you for bringing the queen here on time, Clarissa. Other chambermaids are coming to help the queen reach the gallows. Midwives are already there. Let me help you as well.” The maid came forward and helped the queen lean on her.

The rest of the maids also came soon and took Diana to the depository. Soon, all the royal ladies gather in the gallows and around the queen as she struggles to reach the predella.

The maids assist the queen with making her as comfy as possible through the altar. Though, it wasn't really suitable at all to be a place to go into labor. That too for a queen. However, just like any other royal from the Aurelius, Diana never fancied the status or power she had. Especially not for her own advantage. Always restorative, radical and ready to fight and sacrifice for the kingdom.

“Clarissa…” Diana winces in subtle pain as her skin hits the cold and hard surface through the robe.

Clarissa soothes the queen down as she settles Diana's robe in position. “We are now just ready, your highness. We'll get through this together and our little princess will soon make her presence in the realms.”

The queen nods while yelping at the subtle pain that she was suffering from back and forth. Though, it wouldn't be subtle anymore and the queen was so ready for this event, till the end, to the core.

“Alright. Now that we're set, all you need to do is push. And I promise that it won't take much of your energy, neither time, your highness.”

“I really appreciate your emboldenment, Clarissa. But I would suggest you to not make a promise which you can't keep. And we both know that the words you spoke to vitalize me are just so unreal at this very moment.” Diana playfully points out.

And the remark made by Diana makes Clarissa lower her face in embarrassment. “I… I know, queen I was just…”

“Being the precious being you are? Aww, Clarissa. I know what your intention was. And it was actually beyond the value of a promise. But you do know that words carry their own diverse values. Their own kind of value. Especially when these words are addressed as promises. Which should never be broken. And we, the Aurelius, are a breed of our words.”

Which was a segment of the Aurelius breed. The emotions, intentions and honesty were obviously the precedence. Among all the other acts and events, they were the primacy of the pack.

But that doesn't diminish the role of words. Especially the words given by the Aurelius royals. And mostly, the words declared as promises.

“Right. You're definitely right, my queen.” Clarissa maffles, not processing much in the beginning until her mind begins the procession and she adds furthermore. “However, I didn't make that promise to break it. I promised that because I'm actually going to fulfill it.”

As soon as the latter's speech was finished, Diana's express turns into a mixture of confusion, shock and even terror because obviously, “How are you going to make it?” The queen questions.

The royal maid doesn't answer verbally but gives an encouraging smile instead. She motions the other maid as she starts the spiritual process which causes the queen's baby bump to glow.

“And now, push!” Instructed Clarissa which the queen follows immediately.

“Ahh, I'm… I'm–” Diana cries in intense pain as she keeps forcing her energy.

Clarissa shushes the latter as the midwives get prepared for the next step. “We're so close. I can see the little lovely being already, your highness.”

Upon hearing about her daughter, Diana gathers all her strength and puts it straight to unveil her little one.

Soon, the chamber was filled with the subtle cries of an infant. It was more than enough to put everyone in happiness.

“Aurelius, princess Azura is here.”

“Diana, Borealis pack is so close and almost inside the kingdom. We must–” The king pauses on his sentence as well as on his steps on the door when he witnesses his little princess in his wife's hands.

Diana smiles as the tears start glistening in her eyes. “Alexios, our daughter. Our destiny.”

Alexios resumed walking further. Though, he wasn't rushing in anxiety anymore. Instead, he was walking calmly and in tears. Tears of happiness, of course. “Destiny of Aurelius. Chosen by destiny itself. Our princess, our soon to be queen.” Diana nods at the man's remark as he looks at her lovingly. He then starts leaning down until his lips are connected with Diana's. The king and the queen share a little heartwarming kiss before they part and hug each other with Azura in between. They were having their little family moment.

Until another knight arrives and with another alarm. “King Alexios, Queen Diana… Destiny's calling.”

The couple looked at each other and it could be sensed that the king was feeling beyond guilty as he said, “I'm sincerely so sorry, Diana…”

“Alexios.” Diana whispers soothingly as she caresses her mate's cheek. “People feel apologetic when they're at fault and when something unfortunate happens. And here in this case, neither you're at fault, nor this is something unfortunate. In fact, this is a blessing, that our Azura is the chosen one. Which is already something that only lucky ones can have. We're lucky to have it. But of course, as per the reality, one can't have everything in one life. If we get something, we must give something. We got Azura, we must give ourselves to Aurelius. And in the future, Azura will be our prospect. Which we must protect.”

The words spoken by Diana have the king overwhelmed with emotions as he sniffles a little and places a subtle peck to Diana's temples. The queen offers him an encouraging smile as he nods and turns back to the chevalier and voices, “Narsh, Clarissa.”

“Order, your majesty.” The duo sparks in unison.

“You know where to go.” Alexios speaks straightforwardly to which the other nod and bow to their king before they turn into their wolf form and settle Azura on their back securely.

Diana laments at the while adding, “Take care of not only Azura, but yourself as well.”

They growl in obedience before they ran from the chamber and from the castle, to the woods where their destination was.

As soon as the emotional event was over, they could hear chaotic noises from the outside and they started preparing themselves for their next act.
