Ch. 1The mysterious deaths of werewolves

The mysterious deaths of werewolves . .
The mysterious deaths of werewolvesRecently, in New York City, there has been a series of mysterious deaths. For example, last night there was a man in his thirties lying dead in a small alley. On his body appeared severe burns, bruised and blackened limbs. At first glance, it looked like an electric shock, but after an autopsy, it was not. The police investigated for days and still could not come up with an accurate conclusion. The government has no choice but to reassure the people with clichés.
“F*ck!”
Roy swore angrily and slammed the newspaper in his hand on the table. His face could not hide the fearsome anger. Alice stood in the bartender glancing at the newspaper and understood everything. She clicked her tongue and shook her head, sighing.
"Another bullshit reassurance."
“Can't the police see this as a murder? They even consider this to be an unintended accident.” Roy took the whiskey glass and drank it in one gulp. A drop of brownish-yellow wine still rose to the corner of his mouth. The familiar pungentness of this liquid quickly spread in Roy's throat. It was hot and ecstatic. But that was the only way to calm his madness.
Alice knew this guy's temper and didn't bother to dissuade him. She concentrated on cleaning the dusty wine bottles. It's only six o'clock in the evening, so the atmosphere in the Bar is still quiet. Only a few guests came early because they wanted to sit and enjoy a drink. At this moment, the heavy wooden door of the bar opened. The sound of dragging on the old floor made everyone unconsciously turn to look.
The person who appeared was Henry Lopez - a wealthy and talented businessman in New York City. He has a cool and handsome face. Each line is like being carved into a statue. Deep black eyes attract the opposite person. Brown hair is elegantly brushed back. Speaking of Henry Lopez's muscular body, he must have persevered in the gym every day.
No one was surprised when Henry showed up at this shabby Bar The Night. This place is the gathering place of the werewolf community in New York - Moonlight Pack. And Henry Lopez is also a werewolf. But this stems from a curse that he unfortunately had when he was twenty years old. And that is also a secret that only werewolves and the Phantom wizard gang know.
“Hi, Henry. Do you still drink the old one?”
"Of course, miss."
Henry gave Alice a sweet smile. He pulled out a high chair and sat down next to Roy. Seeing his friend being unhappy, Henry was a little curious:
“What's wrong, Roy? Did Eric anger you again?"
This is too obvious. Eric and Roy always make fun of each other. But when they lost, these two men turned to hate each other.
“It's not because of Eric. Haven't you read the newspaper today?"
Roy replied gruffly, then reached out and pushed the slightly crumpled newspaper in front of Henry. Henry frowned at the newspaper but did not pick it up. And of course, he read the news too. The man who died last night was one of the prominent people in the werewolf community – Sam.
“Still suspecting it was done by the Phantom gang?”
"If it's not those bastards, who are in here?"
Roy gritted his teeth in response. His tone was extremely bitter and angry. Henry remained silent, staring at the blurred picture in the newspaper. Suddenly, he had thoughts of his own.
Recently, the Phantom witch gang suddenly challenged Henry’s werewolf pack. The leader is Louis Miller. He wants werewolves to submit and be slaves to witches. And of course, the werewolf community did not accept. Originally, for nearly a hundred years, the two sides had lived peacefully, but all were broken by Louis Miller. After seeing that his words had no weight, he resorted to killing. He took action against those directly opposed to him like Sam.
“If we keep quiet like this, the Phantom gang will invade even more.”
Roy said as he handed his empty glass to Alice. She glanced at his drunken ivory face and decided to make a glass of lemonade. Henry picked up his familiar drink and licked his lips. He knew of course that the recent deaths were caused by witches. But is the werewolf community's criterion of peaceful coexistence still worth using at this time?
"Raymond doesn't want us to challenge the Phantom gang."
Henry lazily said a meaningless sentence. But Roy immediately countered:
“Raymond is an eccentric old man and do you even notice what he says? I'd rather let Sam take over the werewolf community than Raymond. At least Sam won't let anyone lower our honor."
“But Sam died for his noble cause.”
Henry slowly raised his eyebrows. Roy froze, not knowing what to say next. Now his mind was as light as on the clouds, so he couldn't think to continue talking. Henry is also lazy to discuss with a drunk. Alice also finished making a glass of lemonade and handed it to Roy. She received many complaints from this guy, but in the end, he still obediently drank it down.
It's not that Henry is afraid of death like Sam. But he was originally a thoughtful and calculating person. When he's uncertain about something, he doesn't act rashly. Unless there's something psychologically overwhelming, Henry is a quiet guy. And also because he has the most important mission in life. It is to break the werewolf curse.
Mentioning this, Henry felt a little sad. Looking at his indifferent appearance, he actually contains many thoughts. Henry never thought he would be cursed. At first he was extremely confused, miserable and even scared. But luckily around him, there were always good friends who encouraged him at all times. And your mission now is to find a way to break this damn curse. It's very difficult though.
