Ch. 6Five

"THIS is your ride?" My brows furrowed while staring at the motorbike in front of us.
I didn't know what got inside my head to let him accompany me to the tattoo shop that he was talking about.
I didn't know why I felt comfortable around this stanger. But I have a good judge of character so I trust myself. Besides, he's wearing a Spiderman suit, and Spiderman was my favorite superhero character.
Or maybe it's the way he talked to me or maybe it's the way… he looked. Damn. Why did he have to be this gorgeous?
"What's wrong?" He looked at me.
"It's a motorbike."
He chucked like what I was saying was obvious. "It is."
He grabbed a helmet and handed it to me.
It took me a moment before I accepted the helmet from him. "Let's just bring my car," I told him instead.
"Why?" He cocked his eyebrow. "You don't like riding a motorbike?"
I pursed my lips. "I haven't ridden a motorbike in my life."
He arched his brow, like this information was new to him. "Really?"
I nodded.
His lips curled up in a smile. "Well, there's always a first time for everything." He winked at me. "Come on. You said you didn't want to live a boring life from now on, right?"
I looked at him. Then I realized. Suddenly, the nerves I was feeling earlier were replaced by excitement.
Right? Why would I get nervous? It's just a motorbike.
From now on, I will live my life to the fullest. I would not hesitate to try new things. I won't spend my last six months being boring and stiff.
"Right." I looked at him. "Are you sure you're capable of driving this thing?" I asked him, my eyes slanted. "You know, I don't want to die tomorrow. I wanted to spend the six months left of me."
He chuckled. "Don't worry, I only had one bottle of beer."
He lowered his head to me until our eyes were leveled to each other. Then he breathed out in front of my face.
My lips parted with what he did. His breath smelled like fresh mint. It was warm and smelled good. It was cold here in the parking lot but I felt like something hot traveled through my spine. Damn. What he did was hot… and sexy.
"W-what's that?" I asked him, the hair in my nape stood up.
"Just proving that I wasn't drunk," he answered as he moved away from me.
I cleared my throat. "Fine."
He smiled as he rode his bike. Then he cocked his head to me. "Hop on."
I wore his helmet and rode on the motorbike. My skirt hitched up to the mid of my thigh. I felt shiver when the cold wind touched my skin.
"Hold on to me."
I did what he told me. I placed both of my hands on his shoulder. Damn. His shoulder was broad and hard.
"No. Not there."
He grabbed my forearm and placed them on his stomach. "It was your first time so held on tighter."
My lips parted. Damn. His stomach was warm and hard. I could feel his muscles there. I'd bet my life he has six pack abs.
Even if there's fabric between my hand and his stomach, I still could feel his warm body on my palm.
I could also smell his hair through the helmet. It smelled of sandalwood and mint combined.
"Ready?" he asked me while looking at the side mirror.
"Yeah," I said, nodding at him.
He started the engine and soon after, we were already down the road.
It was past midnight and there were only a few vehicles on the road. I could clearly see the night life of the metro in front of me.
So this is what it feels like to ride a motorbike. It felt liberating. I felt free. The cold wind touching my skin felt good. God. Why didn't I try this sooner?
"Claire…" I heard Adam's muffled voice.
"What?" I tried to raise my voice. I didn't know if he could hear me. The wind was so strong.
"You okay?"
"I'm good."
"You can hug me if you're feeling cold."
What? Did he say I can hug him?
I didn't know what had gotten into me that I tightened my arms in his stomach. His back was touching my chest and I could feel the heat traveling to my body. Damn. It was the first time I've felt this to a real person. I was used to getting aroused by looking at topless photos of my celebrity crushes but it was the first time I got aroused by a man beyond the screen.
"Adam? I have a question?"
"Shoot!"
"Do you know who Queen Elsa is?"
"You don't know Queen Elsa?"
I pursed my lips. That's the same reaction I got from Marcus when I asked him that.
"I don't know. That's why I'm asking."
I heard him laugh. "She's the ice queen from the movie Frozen. She's stiff and strict and obviously, cold. Why did you ask?"
"My cousin told me I'm like Queen Elsa."
I heard him chuckle. "Well…" He cleared his throat. "That means you're also beautiful."
I didn't answer. It was the second time he told me I was pretty. I realized I was smiling inside the helmet I was wearing.
"We're here."
Eclipse Ink—I read the name of the shop.
"Come on," Adam said as he helped me get off the motorbike. He placed both of our helmets on the body of the bike.
"This was owned by my friend," he told me. "He's a great tattoo artist. Trust me."
I looked at him curiously. "Do you have tattoos?"
He grinned, revealing his set of perfect white teeth. "I already have five on my skin." Five? I wondered where his tattoos were.
My eyes roamed around the shop. It was well-lighted and spacious. My eyes settled on the posters on the wall.
I was not familiar with them but I think they're posters of anime characters.
"Adam—fuck, what are you wearing dude?"
I immediately turned to the direction of the voice. I saw a tall and muscular man approaching us. He was wearing a black baggy shirt and black pants. There was a big silver chain hanging around his neck. He has piercings on his ears and nose. Both of his arms were covered with ink.
He was not my type of guy…but he's handsome.
"Shut up," Adam said to the guy. "Carly forced me to fucking wear this."
The man in front of us laughed. "Spiderman, really? Show me your web, Adam."
"Shut up." Adam also laughed, then he turned to me. "He's the owner of the shop, Claire."
I looked at Harold. He was now smiling at me. "I'm Harold, Adam's friend." He extended his hand at me.
I smiled as I accepted his hand. "Claire."
"Did you make her cry?" Harold asked Adam while looking at me.
"You know I only make women cry in the bedroom."
"She wanted to get inked," Adam said.
"You just went to the right place," Harold said with a smile.
