Ch. 6CHAPTER 6

i am busy thinking on my research topic. I slowly chewed the pop corn while my eyes couldn’t take it away from staring at the television. Though I'm watching, my mind is in battle of topics that I can consider. I just frowned at my sister's laughter. I looked at her badly, even Dad had that look given to her.

"Sorry! Just brought in!" She averted her gaze and refocused on the television.

I sighed. If I could just graduate early and find a high-paying job, I would have rushed the time. That way, my sister can have her own room, and television. She would no longer interrupt us with her noisy mouth.
I was shaken and even glanced at Dad who was just quiet and seemed to be deep in thought.

I smiled sadly, If I have a choice, I won't allow him to work anymore. I prefer him to relax and do whatever he wants. He had to work so hard since my mother died. Sadly, he needs to work all day for us to survive. I want to pay it back. I want him to enjoy and do not worry about tomorrow.

That thought changed the research topic I was thinking about. I sighed again and looked annoyed at my sister who laughed out loud again. She acts unladylike. I'm ready to spit fire on her, not until Dad spoke.

"Daughter, do you want to do business?" Dad asked.

I kept my mouth shut at her proper prohibition. My attention got glued to what Dad said. Business?

"Are we rich, Dad? We have another business?" my sister replied but she couldn't take her eyes off what she was watching, she was still eating a lot of popcorn.

My forehead furrowed at her. She doesn't take this seriously. I remained silent and waited for Dad's answer. I have nothing to say with this, first of all, even though I want to make Dad rich, he doesn't have a business yet.

"Not yet, but your Aunt Madel gave me an investment. You know I'm getting older but we don't have any funds yet. I'm tired of working with just the right income. I want, before I die, I can at least leave you with something useful." He took another deep breath and leaned back in his chair.

I wasn't surprised by what Dad wanted to happen, I was even more surprised that Aunty gave us an investment.

"Really, Dad? Aunty isn't sick, is she? Maybe Lord will take her soon?" exaggerated question of my sister.

I rolled my eyes. Nothing really good would come out of her mouth. So I wasn't surprised after Dad scolded her.

"Cecilia! Shut up, what are you saying to your Aunt!" Dad shouted a little angrily, he was even lifted up in the chair.

"I told you, shut up." She covered her mouth and refocused on the television.

Although I was shocked that Aunty gave it to us, all I know, she is not born helpful. That's why it's unbelievable that he gave it to Dad. But I'm curious, may be this is not the first time.

"Dad, has Aunt been helping us for a long time?" I asked curiously.

I put my feet on the small table in the middle and leaned back. I glanced a little at Dad before the show.

"Your Aunt Madel is kind, I just refuse her help because my pride could not take it, I'm older than her but she the one who rose in life, I'm happy and somehow she didn't sink into poverty. Recently she gave me an investment and I have not denied," his dramatic story.

I scratched my neck and yawned a little more. Dad is really very dramatic in life, a perfect opposite of my sister, who doesn't mind life at all. Even though Dad was a fisherman, we did not seek a luxurious life.

"Dad! We're not in Forever, they're not accepting actors anymore." My sister blinked before eating pop corn again.

"Stop it, Cecilia!"

"Dad, stop calling me Cecilia, just Lia!"

But then, Dad didn't pay attention.

"Just kidding, Dad! ... What business do you want? Celeste, maybe you know something there!" then she turned to me.

My eyebrows met when she looked at me sharply. Earlier I only had research problems, now I also have business problems. Can't we just hang out?

"I know, I'm not a businesswoman, ask Aunty." I still frowned at my sister but she just stared at me.

"Your Aunt said that the three of her companions were farmers the other day. The owner of the poultry farm said he was planning to build another poultry farm near here in Pampanga. Madel wanted us to franchise there." Dad leaned back and thought.

Farmer? Does that mean even Callisto is a farmer? I smiled, though he looks savagely handsome, but still, I thought, he's a helper. My mind even traveled to him, him, wearing an old long sleeve, and worn-out jeans, while busy planting some rice plants. Adding to my mind was his tired look and his departure from wearing a long-sleeve, showing his strong muscles and sweaty body. Framing is his thing, that's all there is to it.

I absent-mindedly bit my lip with my imagination. I almost held my breath after his gaze flashed through my mind again.

I want to scold myself! I even managed to think of him while we were in a good conversation.

Celeste, that's a problem!

If my sister didn't react, my imagination might have taken me somewhere. Only now can I thank him for loving me.

"They're farmers? I thought they were hacienderos like that. I thought they're rich, but turned out, they're just farmers." My sister snorted ate pop corn.

"Cecilia, don't belittle a farmer, you don't have food today if it weren't for them!" Dad's scolded her again, it even hurt my sister.

That is totally true, but if Callisto is with you, I don't think you need rice anymore. I smiled deliberately but was again delayed by my sister's noise.
