Ch. 8Chapter 8

Aubrey is still troubled by the wedding booth law that was advertised to them earlier. When she finished washing her hand, she dried it while waiting for Erin because her friend was still using the bathroom.
Someone tapped her on the shoulders. She looked behind her. A female student she did not know. "Yes?" smiling, she replied to the woman.
“Are you Ms. Aubrey Torres? ” the girl inquired. Aubrey nodded. “Miss, you have to follow me.:
She frowned. “I don't know you, sorry. Why do I have to follow you?" she trembled. She doesn't know what to do.
"Someone signed you up for our wedding booth," she replied. Aubrey's eyes widened. Faith's face immediately flashed through his mind. Did Faith sign her up for this wedding booth?
"Can I not attend?" Aubrey asked this woman. The woman shook her head in response. “No, unless you pay. The fee is ₱ 75 pesos so that I can halt this, ”he said.
75 pesos. Even though Aubrey had a lot of money, she didn't want to waste it on something useless. Imagine losing 75 pesos just for not attending that wedding booth? That's stupid. The rules of that wedding booth are terrible. No consideration for other students. What if the student who wants to refuse has little money?
“Fine, I’m going. Just a moment. ” She turned to her right, searching for Erin but she was surprised when the woman took her hand and handcuffed her.
“What the ?!”
"I just follow the rules of our wedding booth," she explained to her. She gasped as she sighed. This situation is so hopeless, she ranted.
The stall of the cubicle where Erin entered opened. Erin wondered why Aubrey had handcuffs. She immediately approached to examine the handcuffs on her friend's hand. "What is that? What for?" Erin leaned in closer and felt the handcuffs.
“Someone set me up for the wedding booth,” Aubrey ranted.
"Shall we go?" the woman replied as they had been waiting for a while. She no longer waited for Aubrey and Erin's answer and went straight for the walk.
Aubrey wants to explode in anger now. Her face was red and it was as if her veins were about to burst with the intensity of her heartbeats. Normally, she doesn't get angry like this but she's already had enough because of that wedding booth. First, the unpleasant approach of their advertisement. Second is the annoying law made by this booth.
She took a deep breath. She didn’t want to ruin this day just because of a trivial matter.
They have arrived at the wedding booth and Aubrey wonders why Faith is still gone. As soon as she arrived, the handcuffs were removed from her hand.
Joanna blocked her which surprised Aubrey. Her eyes widened because of this. She didn't expect that Joanna would also be a part of the staff of this booth. "Just sign up, Aubrey," she said. Aubrey immediately signed the paper.
As she scanned the paper, she found the name of this booth’s first client - her and Miller’s name. Registered by Faith. She did not know what she should feel. Should she be surprised because Miller was set up with her out of their will or should he be angry with Faith?
"Miller," she mumbled his name as she tried to search for his face. She peeked into the booth. She saw the young man frown, feeling uneasy. She also immediately felt embarrassed when she noticed that many people were waiting for the fake marriage to start.
Aubrey was asked to find the ring that would fit on her ring finger. When she found the right size, she gave it to Joanna. Joanna immediately handed the ring to one of her classmates to give to Miller.
Joanna gave her a white veil which complemented the white dress Aubrey was wearing. It was just a simple dress but Aubrey killed it thanks to her beauty. If a normal person would wear this, you'd think she would attend her first communion or go to church, but their vibes are different from Aubrey's. She is glowing in this dress.
Aubrey felt a mixture of nervousness and cringe. She was assisted by a student who manages this wedding booth.
When she stood up on the red carpet, everyone's eyes looked at her - students watching, her friends, and none other than Miller. When she saw the young man smile, excitement grew in her body which made her grin from ear to ear. She also couldn't understand why she was suddenly happy when she had almost cursed the world earlier.
She was prompted to start walking towards the front. There is a romantic song playing in the background that is a bit silent. She's feeling herself as she walks in front. Everybody's eyes are on her, admiring her outstanding beauty. They were never disappointed with Aubrey's fashion and confidence. Her beauty is out of this world.
When she got to the front, she confronted Miller. "Sorry, ah," she apologized to him. Miller just nodded and laughed softly.
Does he actually like this idea?
Aubrey erased that idea from her mind.
The fake priest, who was also a student, put the microphone in his mouth. He cleared his throat. "First of all, does anyone want to object to marriage?" the priest asked.
The crowd looked at each other. No one raised their hands. "That's just a question," joked the fake priest. Everyone laughed when he said that.
"First of all, let's start this wedding with a prayer." Aubrey couldn’t believe that they were actually fully true to weddings. As the fake priest started chanting a prayer, she bowed her head and closed her eyes. When they finished praying, she signed the cross and opened her eyes.
She didn't expect that as soon as she opened her eyes, Miller's eyes met with hers. Miller felt shy and looked away. Aubrey noticed that Miller's cheek was red, which was why her heart seemed to be racing.
“Before the couple vows to each other to be married, I will share this bible verse to everyone. A verse that is always used but can't deny that the message is really good,” the fake priest began. “Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. ”
“This is a fake wedding, as you all may know. I just want to convey to you that you should marry what you think is really right for life, ”he added. “So for your future wedding, make sure you find the right person. Then, both of you should make the wedding special. The wedding day is a very special event - it should reflect who you are, how you fell in love, and what is special about your love story. ”
“With that said, let’s proceed to the vows. Please just read what is on our monitor because I am lazy to recite the vow to you, ”said the fake priest. The audience laughed. This student surely won't make a great priest. “Let's start with the groom, Mr. Miller. ”
Miller held Aubrey's hands. The girl covered her mouth because she was shocked. The audience screamed at what they saw. Miller looked at the screen. He said, “I, Miller, take you, Aubrey, to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times, in sickness and in health. I will love and honor you all the days of my life. "
The fast beating of her heart intensified when Miller finished saying his vows. There was also a big smile on Aubrey's face to which she also covered to avoid showing it to the crowd. She must admit that she is really thrilled. “Ms. Aubrey, let's not get too excited, ”teased the fake priest. Aubrey removed the hand covering her mouth.
She stared at the screen. Before speaking, she took a deep breath. “I, Aubrey, take you, Miller, to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in good times, in sickness and in health. I will love and honor you all the days of my life. "
Aubrey's attention was drawn to her friend, Faith, who was loudly screaming. She turned away to look at her friend for a moment and stared quickly. The mad woman was enjoying the scene too much.
The fake priest glanced at Miller. "Do you take Aubrey as your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?"
He replied, "I do."
"You too." The priest looked at Aubrey. "Do you take Miller as your lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?"
She giggled. "I do," said Aubrey. As she said that, the fake priest took the ring box and gave it to Miller.
Miller opened the ring box. As he did that, everybody screamed on the top of their lungs. He took the ring and in turn, took Aubrey's hand. He put the ring on Aubrey's ring finger.
"Now that you have exchanged rings, it is my pleasure now to pronounce them husband and wife." What you would hear at that exact moment is a mixture of applause and shouting. "You may now kiss the bride."
"Kiss me!"
"Lips to lips!"
“Jesus!”
Aubrey immediately refused what they said was a lips to lips kiss.
Miller demanded the microphone from the priest. "Please keep quiet."
Everyone was silent when Miller spoke. “I can't do what you ask. I have a lot of respect for Aubrey. ” He looked at her in the face. Aubrey didn't know what to do.
He leaned in closer to Aubrey and kissed her on her forehead.
