Ch. 2Chapter 2

A big celebration was held for both of them and packs from all over were invited while Ben had to slave away, tending to everyone’s needs. Yes, I am overexerting. All the packs that came to celebrate did have their own slaves and yes, most of them were shocked to see the slave boy instead of a female slave.
This celebration would be the first of many that Ben had to slave around and be the entertainment. Because Ben could handle more than the female slaves, his Alpha and Luna did not mind the other packs beating him up for entertainment.
They never did understand how he managed to heal up again if he does not have a wolf.
As the years went by, they could not be more pleased that Ben did not show any Supernatural trades.
On the twins' seventeenth birthday one of the pack members overheard Ben tell a slave from another pack something he should have rather kept to himself.
“I can’t wait until I turn eighteen. I will leave here, get educated and maybe even find my parents,” Ben said, dreaming about the future.
“Same for me,” the young slave agreed.
“Just one more year to go for me. How old are you?” Ben wondered.
“A few weeks shy from eighteen,” the young slave told him.
“Come find me in a year's time, will you?” Ben asked while cleaning up the mess of the day celebrations in the main kitchen, not knowing that one of the pack omegas was listening.
“No way, sorry dude. One, I am gone, I am gone,” she chuckled and hung up the dishcloth, exhausted, looking at Ben that seemed as if he can go run a marathon.
Ben just laughed after her, “you go on, I will finish up.”
“Thank you. I am done for it,” she said and dragged her feet out of the kitchen.

After cleaning up, Ben went outside and sat on the back porch, looking up at the stars, “less than a year to go.” Ben’s birthday was a week before the twins, but it didn’t matter. Wait, actually it did. Instead of celebrating his birthday, he had to spend his time deep cleaning the packhouse and yard, followed by all the other families’ houses. On his birthday the workload always seemed to be more than usual with the promise that if he gets done before his birthday was, he gets to have cake. No such luck ever. Even though Ben was believed not to have a wolf, he was treated like a dog. He didn’t get to bathe and shower. He got to eat once a day, if there were leftovers, and worst of all, he had to fight off actual wolves that were kept as pets for leftovers. Ben does not bother with the leftovers, leftovers that he made in the first place. He always waited for everyone to be asleep and then shifted to hunt down game to feed on.
Ben was too tired to go hunt for food, so he found himself a comfortable spot amongst the pet wolves and fell asleep. It was summer, so sleeping outside was not too bad. It was the winter months that were hard. If it wasn’t for the pet wolves to give him warmth, he would have been dead by now.

“Wake up, mud!” Ben heard the Alpha growl at him but thought it was a dream since Ben was always the first one up, long before everyone else.
Ben moaned in his sleep and turned to get comfortable. When the Alpha kicked him, he knew he was not dreaming.
“Are you death?!” The Alpha kicked him again.
“Alpha Patrick,” Ben jumped out, still not sure if he was still dreaming or not.
“Put this around your feet,” Alpha Patrick dropped shackles at Ben’s feet.
“Ouch,” Ben cried as the heavy shackles fell on his toes.
“Don’t be such a pissy,” Alpha Patrick said.
“Sorry Alpha, Patrick,” Ben said and dropped to his knees.
Ben didn’t question why he had to put the shackles on, thinking it was to entertain guests.
After Ben locked the shackles around his own ankles he stood erected.
“Your palms,” Alpha Patrick demanded of him to hold out his arms.
Ben did and watched as Alpha Patrick put the shackles around his wrist.
“The chains are wide enough for you to move around and do your daily duties, but that ball chain will make it really difficult for you to run away. Also, people will think you are some sort of uneducated criminal that escaped somewhere,” Alpha Patrick snorted and turned to go back into the house.
“Alpha? I don’t understand. You mean to tell me this is permanent?” Ben questioned with caution.
Alpha Patrick turned around and grabbed Ben by his neck, choking him, “you think I won’t find out that you plan to run away when you turn eighteen? You used my pack all these years. To feed you and put a roof over your head only to stab us in the back and run away when it suits you?”
Ben clawed at the Alpha’s hands, desperately trying to get free.
Ben wondered if he can take the Alpha on, ‘but then Melina will hate me.’
Ben stopped fighting the Alpha’s hands around his neck and felt himself slip away, hoping the Alpha will spare him so that he can see Melina again.
Alpha Patrick shoved Ben aside. “get someone to host you down today, you stink.”
Ben fell to the ground, gasping for air.
“Actually, I will do it now. Can’t have you make food when you are so dirty,” Alpha Patrick said and kicked Ben off the porch before walking over to the hosepipe and turning the tap open.

Ben was still gasping for air when the cold water hit him.
“Ah!” Ben cried, and tried to cover his face.
“Twins! Bring some dish soap!” Alpha Patrick shouted.

“They are still sleeping, Alpha Patrick,” a female pack slave from another pack came out with some dish soap.
Ben looked at her accusingly, thinking it was she who betrayed him.
