Ch. 33

Unconsciously, as I ruffled my hair with my fingers, I found myself touching my chest.

"Did you feel anything?" Krystal burst out laughing when she realized what I was doing. Probably making fun of me for having a flat chest.

"Whatever, just drive," I answered with a smile on my face.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" she replied and chuckled.

"I'll pretend to be a guy?"

She chuckled and nodded in agreement, "I believe it is time for us to purchase your props."

I didn't comprehend what she was saying at the time, but I only realized it when we went to the mall to look for boy clothes. When we arrived at their house, it was quarter to 10 o'clock.

"It is not necessary for you to use a chest tube binder, as your chest is not particularly big. She laughed loudly and pointed to my chest.

Regardless of the fact that we are exhausted, we were awake all night due to the preparations for my things. We talked about how I should conduct myself in this situation.

Aunt Odette and Krystal were enjoying breakfast when I woke up the next morning, "Come in here and have something to eat." Krystal extended her offer.

Aunt Odette took the seat across from us while I sat next to Krystal. I take a spoonful of rice then go get a sausage.

While we were eating, we got into a discussion about my job. Aunt Odette will be out of town for business reasons, so Krystal will be alone at their house.

A long talk later, Aunt Odette waved goodbye to us with a smile, while also telling me that I needed to look after Krystal. She kissed both of us on the cheek before walking away.

"Let's go!" The moment her mother walked out of the room, Krystal grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the room. She rummaged in the closet for something, then opened a drawer in search of a pair of scissors.

"Hey, hold on a minute!" I was able to divert her from her track. "That's something I can do. I'll just do it on my own."

With each snip of the scissors, I could feel a rush of worry seeping down my spine. "What if I'm not hired for that position?" I asked in the middle of nowhere.

"I'm sorry, but that won't happen because I've already spoken with Lewis about hiring you. Go for it, girl! You have the ability to do so!" She burst out laughing. I was aware of how much she wanted to help me, so I continued to cut my own hair.

"Do you happen to be Mr. Montes?" a man with a robust and tall build asked. His back was turned to me, but I can tell that he's very musculine. He's also standing with excellent posture.

"Uh, yes!" I said with trepidation because I had no idea what kind of employer he was going to be.

"Don't be concerned, I'm a kind person rather than a strict one." He gave me a small smile before turning his face toward me. His eyes are almond shaped, and he has plump red lips and a defined jawline to match. True to how Krystal would always describe him, you will be completely taken aback by his presence simply by looking at him.

"Are you a gay?" He had inquired. His question caused my pupils to dilate. My fear slowly crept up my spine and into my body. Although the weather is warm, my body is becoming cold.

He looked at me, assessing my reaction, before turning away and gazing at their large swimming pool. I took a deep breath to calm myself down.

He burst into laughter "Please accept my apologies. Are you offended in any way?"

I shook my head abruptly, but no words escaped from my lips.

"Let's take a look inside." He guided me into the house. He informed me of the task I would be assigned once I start. Although the house was not particularly large, the atmosphere exuded opulence.

"Can you tell me how many people they are that I would serve?" I was the one who asked. He smiled as he turned around to face me.

"They are six... They are six young men. Is there a problem?" he inquired, raising his brows in the process.

I shook my head yet again. What would happen to me now? My bosses would be a group of six men! That's a complete and utter nightmare.

"I mean, it shouldn't be 'them,' but rather 'us,' right? I also happen to be one of your bosses." He chuckled in a low voice.

I shouldn't be complaining, should I? Working as a maid is the only job that is suitable for me at the moment.

"Do you want something to drink? I'd be happy to make one for you." He sat in a chair that he had pulled out.

"Sir Lewis, I'm afraid not. You are not required to do so."

"What is it about you that you are so courteous? Please address me as Lewis." He mumbled under his breath. I didn't say anything, just nodded and sat in front of him.

I couldn't move because he was staring at me. During this time, the entire kitchen is filled with silence, and I'm slowly melting under his intense gaze, as if he were examining my entire being.

"Is there something on my face?"

"Nothing. It's only that..." He locked his gaze on me even more. "You have a familiar face. Have we ever met before?"

Worse yet, what if he caught me with Krystal while we were watching him previously? I would constantly accompany Krystal to his school after every class dismissal so that she could see him. My last encounter with him was just weeks before my father passed away. He was participating in a basketball game with his mates.

He noticed us peering at him, but Krystal snatched me away and hid me in a tree. He was attending an exclusive boys' school, but we were able to gain entry because Krystal claimed we were there to see her cousin. I wasn't able to get a good look at him since I would always tell Krystal that I would just wait on the field while she went over to take a closer look at him.

"Mr. Montes?" When he spoke, all of the thoughts that were racing through my head came to a halt.

"I'm not sure why I seem f-familiar to you." I forced a laugh, attempting to get the uneasiness out of my system.

"Perhaps you just happen to look like someone I know."

He pushed himself out of his seat, and I did the same. "Everything is free here, but you must stay and sleep at this place."

"What?!" I screamed, but instantly covered my mouth with my hand because I realized that I was being too loud.

"We will cover all of your educational expenses so that you do not have to worry about them. You can begin working as soon as tomorrow." He put his hand in the pocket of his shorts.

His brows are furrowed, as if he's straining to recall something, "What's your given name once again? Krystal mentioned it to me throughout our conversation, but I completely forgot."

"Kye." I replied in a brief manner.

"Kye. It was a pleasure meeting you, Kye." We exchanged handshakes after he extended his hand and I reciprocated.

I'm sure Krystal would be jealous of me because I was able to hold the hand of her beloved Lewis while she was away. I'm not going to tell her about it since she'll be enraged and erupt like a volcano if I do.

"It was a pleasure meeting you as well." Even though I was anxious about shaking his hand, I managed a broad smile at him.

"How did things turn out? In the course of your conversation with him, how is he? Is he intimidating in any way? He's still attractive even if he's dressed in plain clothes, don't you think?" Krystal, who was blushing, was asking questions about Lewis.

"It's all right. He's attractive, but I think I'm much more attractive than he is." I gave her a wink and a smile.

"Eww!" She made a funny face at me.

"Could you please take me to Lewis' house tomorrow?"

"Of course, why not? You're going to start working the next day?"

I nodded. Just thinking about starting work for them the following day is making me sweat buckets. I'm getting a little anxious.
