Ch. 9CHAPTER 8

After fixing herself, Lahynna came out of the comfort room and went straight to the pool area. Rubick’s house was really huge, but she barely saw people who lived there. Only some house helper and him. She remembered Rubick has a brother. But she did not see him there as well.
She felt pity over him. She would not be confused anymore on why her Mom said Rubick didn’t have a real family. It’s because he doesn’t have a family to see when he gets home. That must be the reason why he used to throw a party just like this one now.
What else would she expect from a lonely young billionaire who doesn’t know where to put all of his money?
Her heart, once again, went out for him. He was such a beautiful lonely man.
Lahynna put her bag at the lounge near the swimming pool while watching Eina and Rubick at the gazebo. Even though she was a bit irritated, she tried to dismiss it. She wanted to be more understanding with Rubick. He was so thirsty with attention and love. And he only gets it from a few friends surrounding him.
And with the women who flirt with him.
Huh!
Maybe he only feels his value and existence when someone is flirting with him. But she would not opt-in doing that was not the proper way to treat a broken man.
“Look at me, Rubick. Look at me…” She faintly whispered while watching his every move.
She wanted him to look at her, be captivated with her, and make him want to do what they did inside his car. Damn it, but she missed doing it again.
And as if on cue Rubick looks in her direction. His chocolate brown eyes were looking intently at her. Like she was the most beautiful woman in the place.
A wonderful smile ripped from his beautiful tempting lips. And it seems like heaven opened up right in front of him. It was dusk, but it seemed it was all bright right in front of him.
It seems his smile lightened the whole place.
Rubick was stunningly handsome. And his body was to drool for. It was as if she was seeing herself putting her arms on his broad shoulders. She was as if touching his strong muscled chest… feeling his stone-hard body against her.
Lahynna’s mouth went dry while fantasizing over him. Darn, but she was really aching inside!
He is a friend, for goodness sake! Why was she lusting for him?
But then, she couldn’t contain her excitement when he started to move. He walked without losing eye contact. And her inner goddess was shouting in excitement. She wanted to run and meet him halfway. But Lahynna rendered herself.
She wanted to ask, where is her consciousness hiding all this time that she never noticed Rubick?
But when Rubick was a few steps closer, someone interrupted their enchanting connections.
“Hey, Hynna! I didn’t know that you were this sexy, huh?”
Lief was smiling widely at her. He was one of the group and was Lanryd’s age. Three years younger than her.
And she doesn’t know why but she doesn’t like how he looks at her, even the way he compliments her. And she knew his words were pure admiration. But before she felt uncomfortable with Lief, she smiled at him. She pulls back herself.
“Hey, Lief?” She tapped him on his shoulder. “What happened to the "big sis"? You used to call me that. And did you forget that I am way older than you? You see me in bikinis, and you already forget that, huh?” She joked.
Lief just laughed. “I suddenly saw you in a new light. I think I don’t want to call you big sis anymore.”
“What?! That's a bad joke.”
Lief just laughed again. “Let’s go there. The barbeque smells great.” He said, pointing to the backyard.
A long table spread near a mango tree, and it was full of foods served by the housemaids. Lahynna doesn’t have a choice but to look back at Rubick. The guy stopped near the pool and pushed Lanryd into the water. They started playing in the water while Lief was walking me near the barbeque area.
Lahynna was a bit disappointed. And why the hell did she have to feel that way towards Rubick, anyway?
F*ck, lust!
That was the exact term.
Lust was already there even before. It was just sleeping soundly in her system. And when they cross the limits, it was awakening. She had those feelings for Rubick all along. She was just not aware of it.

“HYNNA, wanna try this drink?”
Lief handed Lahynna a glass of drink.
Rubick suddenly got alarmed when he saw it was an alcoholic drink.
He quickly let go of Eina's arms. With big steps, he went near the pool area. Lahynna was about to drink the liquor, but he hurriedly took it away from her.
“Hey!” The lady scolds him. “What’s your problem? Give it back to me!”
“Your doctor prohibits you from drinking, right?” Rubick scolds her back and pours out the liquor in the bermudagrass.
He just couldn’t get it. Doesn't she love her life anymore? Doesn't she want to live long? Why is she doing the things that her doctor prohibits her from doing?
Lahynna has a sickness. Idiopathic Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Rubick knew what the hell she'd been through. And it was just six months ago since she recovered from the heart attack that almost killed her. It’s been nearly a month that they can’t hang out with Lahynna’s place because she needs proper rest.
He was there at the hospital. He almost didn’t leave the hospital while she was there. He knew how her oar suffered while she was in the ICU. He could barely remember how many times did he tapped Lanryd's shoulder to keep himself altogether. They don’t stop believing that she will survive.
Well, he never went inside the ICU. He used to stay outside the room. He could not bear seeing her with those apparatus. Rubick thought he might go first while watching her in that state. That is how much he was worried about her.
Rubick tried to hunt Szade down way back then. He was the reason why Lahynna had a severe heart attack. But Lahynna’s parents stopped him. They said it’s not Szade’s fault. It was also unfair for Szade to stay with their daughter if his love for her was gone.
‘It is not Szade’s entire fault. Lahynna was inborn with a weak heart and body. All that we can do for her is to pray for her recovery. Instead of wasting your time and energy in being angry, why don’t you just used it to pray for her.’
Those were the words of her Mom and Dad.
The agony they had been through wasn’t a joke when Lahynna suddenly got the flat line. It was indeed a big miracle she survived it.
