Right after fixing herself, Lahynna went down the stairs. Lanryd greeted her with his eyebrows raised.
“What are you wearing? It is a pool party, big sis. Not a debut.” He said, studying Lahynna’s outfit.
Lahynna heard that the group was going to have a pool party at Rubick’s place. And even she wasn’t invited at all; she was forced to come with Lanryd.
It’s been a week since the scene at Rubick’s car. Since then, Rubick hasn't driven her to work or even picked her up at night. He distanced himself from her, and she would not deny that she missed the guy a lot. She was hurt, and afraid things won’t be the same again between them. Lahynna doesn’t know where those feelings are coming from, but she could not bear all the emotions.
When she started working at DJP, she found and heard a lot of controversy about the de Juego family. Especially the old de Juego, the CEO and the father of Rubick. It said that the old man had lots of women. And his legal wife, Tita Miranda, didn’t want to free him even if the old man already filed an annulment. Tita Miranda didn’t sign the annulment. Instead, she used to follow her husband anywhere he goes. She always messed up with her husband’s woman.
And a lot more controversy about the CEO was rotating around the company. The boss was always the talk of all the employees. That must be the reason why Rubick declined the offer of his father. And maybe, that must also be the reason why he looks at the world like a pitch-dark night.
What did happen to Rubick when he found out about his father’s scandal? And since when did he find out? Is that also the reason why people misjudged him? Is it because of his family background?
Well, it’s not always the money but also the family reputation.
Lahynna grew up a happy child and got an almost perfect happy family. She would never trade that for anything in this world. And by the thought of that, she perfectly understands how painful life for Rubick was. His escape from his reality is joining the group, having fun while working his ass off.
One time, she and her workmates ate lunch at Tita Miranda’s resto. From the entrance, she could see Rubick dealing with his overloaded paper works in one of the dining tables. But when Rubick saw her, he just glanced at her, took all the papers then went inside a door. That must be the restaurant's office. Rubick barely hangs out in their house to play DOTA. She had this feeling that he was intentionally doing it to avoid her.
She is hurt by the thought of Rubick avoiding her. But Lahynna didn’t know if they must continue being friends after what happened in his car.

This is driving her crazy!
And she couldn’t bear just standing, keeping silent, and didn’t do anything to change their setup.
Lahynna went back into her senses. She leered at Lanryd. “What’s wrong with my outfit?”
Lahynna wears a mini dress that was a half-thigh length. And flat sandals. She let her hair hangs loosely. She even put on subtle make-up. It was very light that no one would think she wears make-up. And she doesn’t see anything wrong with it.
Lanryd smirks at her to Lahynna’s confusion. “Are you dolling yourself for someone? Is it Rubick?”
Lahynna lightly hits her brother on the head. She was not really good at concealing herself.
“I don’t need to doll myself because I am already beautiful.”
Lanryd knowingly smiled at her once more. But later on, he made a serious expression.
“Hey, big sis. Rubick is a great guy. A great friend. But by being romantic with him? Nah! Give it a break.”
Lahynna didn’t know what to feel about what her brother just said. She doesn’t know if he approved Rubick or not. He compliments him, yet he dragged him down as well.
The two were close friends, even though Rubick was way older than Lanyrd. And she doesn’t get what Lanryd's real verdict with his friend is.
“You know what? Let’s go.”
She turned her back on Lanryd and looked for their Mom. She went to the garden and bid goodbye.
Yeah, she glam herself up first before asking for her Mom’s permission. Well, she knew better that their Mom would let her, especially that she was with Lanryd.
LAHYNNA was pulling a face while in the comfort room. She went there with her bag and swimsuit.
She could not help it. She just saw an unwanted scene just right after appearing in the pool area. Do
Eina was flirting with Rubick.
All she thought was that the two had nothing to do with each other anymore. It’s been a while since the scandal. And if she was in Eina’s place, she could not face the man who declined her and her child. It was all over the news in their place.
But sad to say, Eina was not her. She was not as thick-skinned, just like Eina does.
“The nerve of that woman.” Lahynna angrily murmured while stripping off her garments inside the comfort room.
She was facing the whole body mirror. She could see how sour-looking she was right now. And why the hell would she feel that way? Why was she stressing herself over a flirt cousin of hers?
Alright! She may be mean for thinking about Eina that way. But whatever she thinks of her cousin will only be inside her mind. She breathed in and out. She shouldn’t be stressing herself anymore. She shouldn’t be giving a fck if the two were already making out in front of her.
“Hmp!”
But her hypocrite self could not win her over. She doesn’t really want the idea of them doing such a thing. She could not bear seeing or even thinking that Rubick was touching another girl, just like how he did with hers.
