By now, they had got wind of y efforts. They were all happy with that. So, I had full confidence in
me that I would not be turned down when I called them. That day also, the football match earlier slated for Wednesday was shifted because of special fasting and prayers that day, was to be
held. As a result of the match, the meeting was delayed as some students were still discussing the match with Sir Jamin, a staff who took more
fancy to football than the game master himself.
Stories had it that he was a referee in some football clubs when he was at his former school. I waited for them to come so as not to miss some of the things I wanted to say. Moreover, this was the first general meeting I was having with them for a long time except the weekly meetings of the prefects. Now, everyone came especially those whose cases were pending before the school authorities, to hear what would happen next.
"I thank you all for responding to the call", I began, "as a matter of fact, it is clear to us that some of our brethren are facing a very serious trouble and we have been makng some efforts to see if they can be pardoned. However, the school has come to the conclusion that all the bad eggs in the school must be flushed out completely, That Is why It appears as if it
difficult for the school to forgive them. You see, sometimes you think I hate you and that is why I
do not cover up for you or give you a hand in breaking the school rules. If you are observant, you may have heard us praying and crying for
righteousness in the school. I hate breaking rules and I don't feel comfortable when I see it happen even, as a leader.

"I also remember that I made it clear to everyone of you that I would report you to the school authorities if, after several warnings, you refused to take heed. I can't continue covering
up for you and let things continue to go wrong rather I will help to solicit your pardon when I see that your punishment is too much but that is if l see genuine repentance in you". I spoke in a clear tone, gesticulating wildly for emphasis. while majority of the students continued to listen to me with rapt attention, others had started to shuffle around in impatience. They merely stayed because they wanted to hear what would become of their friends and they wanted to hear it right from my own mouth.
"I have written to the Director on their behalf, so let us maintain peace and order in the school pending the reply or the outcome of the situation. Antonio has also written since last week.
Together with mine, let's hope in God.

"LooK at somebody like Cement Ernest.
The school could not find any recent charge to pin on him but his past record got him into trouble. There is Suspicion hanging on him because one member of staff made a complaint against him, this is the reason; I keep telling us that it pays to be good. There is nothing so special in committing crime from time to time. It does not make you a big boy, instead it brings a bad name on you. I hurriedly rounded off as our time was almost spent and also because it was still morning and there was a lot to do in preparation for the vacation beginning the following day. Students needed to put their
belongings in order, tidy up the environment andperhaps engage in the scheduled football game.
I knew that meeting could be the last, I would be hearing with my classmates, some of whom would be expelled, that term.

As the hours rolled by the miscreants became more tensed and pensive. They were all shivering. Despite all efforts to encourage them, some had lost hope considering the enormity of
their own misconduct It was a crow thorns on their heads. That same morning, the ring leaders of the miscreants wanted to meet the pastor who had ministered to the students the previous day.
They told me about it, so l accepted to accompany them to the lodge where the an had spent thenight.
On reaching there, he told Us to wait for him at the chapel. We went to the chapel and sat on the seats making a form of circle with the seats while we discussed. All discussions centered on the matter on ground. "The man said we should wait for him here, didn't he', asked Daniel just to confirm. "Yes, them talk say
im never baf," Craig Alan replied.

We continued to wait for the man of God as they needed counselling from him and also wanted him to pray for them.
"Do you know that this thing that is happening now is really disturbing me more than any of you?, Daniel said.

"For me, if at the end they don't expel us, I will make sure I
Obey all the school rules and
regulations. Infact, I will even put on bowtie for my Sunday wear", said Craig. He said this because the issue of putting on bowtie or long tie on the school uniform had been a battle between the prefects and the students. it had been a constant falling of many of the students for which may been drastically dealt with by the prefects and staff. Hector said that to express the extent of his determination to be of good behaviour. The sunday wear did not have tie. However, we continued to wait until the bell went for breakfast at the hostel and seeing that the Pastor was not forthcoming, we left for the hostel.

After breakfast, some students went to the hostel to take care of their belongings while those selected to represent their classes in the match between SS2 and SS1 jogged to the field.
Just before the sports hour, I met Craig Alan who had abused me to my face on one of the nights.
