Ch. 13Episode 13

The girls were the starting point of every discovery made.

There was a particular group of giris known as the Famous Five. Sir Robinson had asked me about them on the day he unraveledd the whole nefarious activities of the miscreants to me. It was later on, that I came to know that the Famous Five or Famous Girls were a set of girls that were said to be special to their opposite sex. They were also involved in the Slum Book
stuff, where they would write the names of the boys they admired and their e-mail and then pass
the information to the boys through Antonio Samson. Antonio would then lure the boys to also write names of the girls they also admired and then he would pass the information to the other side. That was how he was nicknamed MOL, an acronym for "Messenger of Love" This was a
high level crime in our school. So it was not the boys alone that were involved in the group of miscreants.
At the end of the drama that night, all hell broke loose and I did not need a prophet to tell
me that I had made enemies instead of friends. I was like a pigeon thrown in the midst of cats.
Even while the girls were displaying their own drama after ours; I began to receive abuses from some of my classmates, even the small-statured ones.

Some mustered courage to Confront me while some were just throwing words at me
"Thomas, you have killed us", said one of them.
"This drama had shown us your prayer for us, that we should be expelled", said another person belligerently. He said that, referring to the scene where we staged the expulsion of all the miscreants except the person Who was remorseful. "Thomas, what does that mean?
asked one of my friends who was among the miscreants as we were heading to the hostel.
"What are you talking about?" I asked feigning ignorance.
"Does it mean that this is the only drama you guys thought wise to present?"
"Well, that's the one God wanted us to present. Nevertheless, we were only aiming at passing a message that could save some people", I said.

"Help some people how? Don't you know that with what you have have acted on the stage, it is just as though you have fanned the flame?".
"You are not correct, I disagreed vehemently.

"Didn't you notice that Sir Herbert was there?. The Patron also came, stood at the back
awhile, Watched and went away. Even the Director saw the drama and you are telling me that your motive is not to aid our expulsion" my friend argued.
"You don't mean it", I said Even if they were there, so what? God knows my aim though you guys misunderstand and misinterpret my action, I said. I was being attacked that night
from every angle. Some said I hated them, that I was planning to get them expelled from the
School.

"No problem at all, we will certainly leave the school for you to enjoy alone", said Hector Shane to me. When we finally arrived at the hostel, I received the hottest phase of the attack.
They reviled me so much and I began to defend myself more firmly than ever. I stood my ground to prove to them that I did them no wrong.
"Excuse me, I said, trying to make my voice heard over the hubbub. "I know I did not offend any person; God is my witness. For your understanding, you may think that I staged the drama against you. I presented what God wanted me to present...
"Which God?" interrupted Ricardo Aaron.
"Is it God of Thomas or which one? sneered Randy Howard who was talking from his corner.
"Moreover, my mother used to tell me that the Satan I know is better than the angel I dont
know, continued Howard, sarcastically.
"My friends listen to me, whether you believe it or not, it is immaterial. It has been done
already and I dont have any regrets for that.
What I am doing is simply to explain to you my mind and address your fears. But after explaining to you and you persist, then you can go to hell
with it". I looked so grim at that moment, ready for anybody that would say some silly things.
This drew their attention and they started shouting.
"Let everybody go to his corner, it is mid night and all of you are disturbing my sleep, said
one of my lieutenants. I knew he was addressing this to me because he often sided with the
majority of these miscreants. In fact, I did no know if there was any person loyal to me that night.
"Hyacinth, I know that within you, there is that impression that you love your classmate and that you are fighting their cause. Yes, you love them so much, I guess", I said to him

This statement made Hyacinth extremely furious, Thomas, what do you mean? You will explain to me what you mean by that statement.
Look at this boy, I told him to stop disturbing my sleep, that It was night already and now imagine the kind of nonsense he is vomitting', Hyacinth bellowed. I ignored him and faced the others.
Some of them wanted to hear me while some were still yelling and abusing me. I wondered If they still remembered that they
were shouting at their Senior Prefect.
"The worst part of it was that I thought he would present it in our favour. Initially I was not
bothered so much. But I sunk into the seat where I was and almost fainted when he said that those people were expelled, Daniel Rufus complained.
"We were even seeking a way to apologise to the school and ask their pardon, but you have disorganised the whole thing with the drama.
The Director and Sir Herbert may have watched it. Now they will carry it out". Antonio concluded
and lay down on his bed again as he was already in his pyjamas.

I respected Antonio because he never used abusive words on me and again because of his post as the Labour Prefect. Moreover, l hard for my co-prefects.
