Ch. 2What is Chelsey up to?

Oh my, do I have to I thought to myself. I guess I have no choice.

I took a deep breath, "Hi, I'm Stacey Joanelle McGrath." I mumbled.

"Who cares?" Kayla yelled the class burst out laughing.

"You are welcome Stacey, take the seat beside Mason." The teacher mumbled pointing to a guy, my eyes widened in surprise, he was the same dude I bumped into. We locked eyes and he winked at me, I looked away walking to the seat. I sat down keeping my backpack.

"So let's continue," The teacher was saying but the bell rang so the teacher had to leave the class, the students looked happy when he walked out.

I bent my head on the desk because the class was becoming too noisy and lots of stares from all angles were directed at me.

"Hey kiddo, aren't you like supposed to be in middle school?" I heard Mason ask.

I raised my head and met Mason staring at me.

I didn't say anything to him, A woman walked into the class just when he was about to say something.

"Good morning class, how are you all doing?" She asked.

Some didn't even answer, they just continued with whatever they were doing, that's so disrespectful bit who am I kidding? That's high school for you, she taught us and when her time was up, we had geometry before it was break time.

After the bell for break rang the students went to the cafeteria, Mason left with another dude who seemed to be his friend. I just stayed in the class, I don't feel like going to the cafeteria. A girl walked up to me.

 "Hi, Stacey." She smiled.

"Hello," I replied returning the smile.

"I'm Adriel Davidson, I like you can we be friends?" She asked.

She's nice, finally, l get to make a friend, she's beautiful, she has brown long hair and a cheerful personality.

"I'll be delighted to have you as my friend," I mumbled.

"Thank you, won't you go be going to the cafeteria?" She asked.

"Well, I'll love too but I don't like overcrowded places," I replied.

"We can sit far from the others if you want." She suggested.

 "Ok, let go." I agreed.

Getting to the cafeteria, we sat at a table far from the others, "I'll go order something for us, what will you like to have?" She asked.

"French fries and strawberry milkshake will be fine," I replied.

"I'll be right back." She told me before sauntering away.

A few minutes later she came back with the orders.

"What did you get for yourself Adriel?" I asked.

"I got the same thing for both of us." She replied.

"How much did you get it?" I asked handing her some money.

"No, you don't have to pay me back." She mumbled refusing to accept the money.

"No just take it, it won't be nice if you pay for my food on the first day we meet," I argued.

"We are friends right?" She asked and I nodded.

"Then you shouldn't insist on paying me." She smiled.

"Adriel, who are you staring at?" I asked when I noticed her eyes somewhere else but she said nothing.

I traced her eyes to the direction she was looking at, she was staring at Mason and a guy, I recognised him to be the same person Mason had left the class with. When I and Mason locked eyes, he whispered something to the guy next to him and they began to walk towards our table.

"Stacey, how do I look?" She asked.

What's going on? Why is she acting this way? I thought.

"You look beautiful." I smiled at her.

Mason stopped when he got to our table he drew out a chair and sat down, the guy with him did the same.

"Hi girls." The other guy smiled.

 "Hello,"  Adriel replied beaming.

"Mason, I'll go grab us some lunch." The guy mumbled.

"I can share mine with you." Adriel offered.

"Thank you." He smiled at Adriel.

"That so nice of you Adriel," Mason uttered glancing at me.

"I'll be sharing kiddo's lunch then." He smirked.

"Who is kiddo?" Adriel and the other guy asked.

"Oh, you don't know? She is!" He chuckled pointing at me.

Adriel and Finn smiled shaking their heads.

The students stared at our table and were whispering, this school is filled with busybodies.

Mason picked a French fry from my plate, putting it in his mouth. "Wow, it's so yummy."  He smiled taking all of the French fries.

"Give it back Mason," I mumbled trying to take it back from him.

"Oh! You can talk." His eyes widened in surprise. "I thought you were dumb or something, here take it if you can."  He smiled standing up.

I see what he's trying to do, he knows he's way taller and he's trying to use that against me. I'm not giving him a chance.

"You can have it," I mumbled rolling my eyes.

By now, everyone turned to us watching the drama Mason was creating, my eyes met Kayla's and Chelsey's, they glared at me angrily. I wonder what I've done to upset them this time. Chelsey whispered something to Kayla and she nodded. Then they stood up with their meal and walked to our table.

"Hi, sister." Chelsey faked a smile.

"Hey Mason, Finn." He smiled seating down.

"Oh! Hi Adriel, we didn't notice your presence." They laughed.

"How can you? When your eyes are for fancy." Adriel smiled, we burst out laughing.

They rolled their eyes, what Chelsey said next shocked me, "Sister, why aren't you eating? You can share my lunch if you want." She offered with a smile on her face.

Why is she being so nice? She's never nice to me. Chelsey never calls me sister and she did call me sister twice, it only means she's up to something but what could she be up to? I thought. I hope she isn't up to some mischief, it's just her first day here.
